Great to see you and wonderful to hear you're getting steadily better. I forgot what therapy you're on for ms. I hate my damn bladder too! I wet myself badly at work yesterday - so HUMILIATING!!! Haven't heard of interstim but it sounds like a trial could be worth it, and at least it's not another chemical to add to the cocktail :) Good luck!

    1) Yes, I did the stage 1 trial.
    2) I got about 50% relief immediately... after I got it in permanently I got 100% relief (from retention) ... you see it takes time for the nerves to "learn" and old muscles have memory...patience...!
    3) The stimulation only shocked me 2 times down my leg in 6 years. Sat strangely once and overstretched in yoga class (forward) don't do that. Also beware of doorknobs if

Thank you for sharing this situation. My bladder is not perfect but I had problems on oxybutynin. My bladder got better when I went off it.
Give the trial a try. It could a good solution for you. Sorry you have to worry about this.

Interesting that your video metions nothing about the possibility of leads migrating, or pain from infection. Those were my two major concerns. I had a consultation with my Urologist where I asked at least twenty questions which she addressed for me. At first I had decided to go with Axoincs, but she persuaded me that both brands were very similar. The remote of Intrastim has been improved considerably. I would say that being comfortable, and confident in the abilities of one's surgeon is important to me, because to have Axonics I would have had to go to a different Urologist, one who was not recommended by my Oncologist, so therefore an unknown quantity. I love my Oncologist to death, so decided to go with her advice, because she has never steered me wrong!

I'm delighted to hear that ylou're feeling well atm! I've never heard of interstim and yeah its sounds pretty scary! I was retaining also- badly! I have never used a cathat ar though.I dont have those issues anymore-why ? I started on LDN- I'm on 3ml every night and it has fixed my problems. Its easier and it start working within a week.
Good luck with the trial though, I'm not brave"

I had Interstim implanted a fortnight ago, the incision for the generator was sore for about three days, but now, I don't think about it. It's important to know that even if one has the implant, that may not solve one's issues. However, personally, the improvement was substantial, and it is a relief not to be worried about accidents 24/7. In speaking to the Metronics tech, she said that most people find that the results they get with their trial, will likely be what they end up with. I have turned up the pulse without changing the programme, in the hopes that will improve results Either way, it takes a few days for one's body to adjust to the new stimulation intensity, and one quickly gets used to the pulse, and stops feeling it, for me, that happened in a matter of three or four hours: so not at all uncomfortable, especially when most of the time, one is unaware that it is working.
I am glad I had the procedure. I have to see my surgeon for a post op.visit in three weeks, and am not supposed to lift more than 10lbs until after that, there are also a few other minor restrictions, nothing too drastic, or difficult to conform to. Medtronics sends a patient card to keep in one's wallet, and I have just ordered a new dog-tag to reflect my medical issues. A dog-tag necklace has more room than a bracelet, or watch label.
