I am a bit confused as to why they keep switching around the names for the Meteor moves, even though Raging Blast did a pretty good job of sorting all of them out. Now we have SS Midku with a Meteor Smash, and Base Endku with a completely different Meteor Smash, when they could've called it Meteor Crash. Instead that name is now given to what used to be Meteor Blast. What's the point of doing this, it's a bit funny and confusing at the same time 😂
Honestly? They probably just don't care that much. The names are just arbitrary to begin with since they're just being used to refer to sequences that are simply referencing stuff from the anime and manga. Like there's no way Goku will go "Hey! This is the Meteor Smash! You pull it off by kicking in this specfic way and then flying or teleporting to do this move!".
Nahhh, in raging blast 1 and 2 ssj2 goku has the same supers that he has in sparking zero, yes, here in sparking zero ssj 2 goku's moveset is better than BT3 but the developers just did the same thing that they did in raging blast 1 and 2.
@@dark_nightwing_xl2797 Yes, vegeta end is better because of ssj 1 and ssj 2 ultimates but they repeated the volley super again, the way that vegeta trows the energy balls is different (and he did it in that way in the series) but they repeated the moves anyways just like in BT3.
Kid Goku is best Goku. Before he was always absent or a selfish jerk he was a great character. Super takes him at him worst from original Dragon Ball (Cell arc) and makes it 1000xs worse.
I'm kinda surprised you're not giving your thoughts on the transformation animations too since they've put a fair bit of effort into making them more unique
A cool detail I love from the Japanese side of things is when Goku (Mid) transforms into a Super Saiyan, his voice is given a very deep yell just like in the anime. It's JP exclusive, since the dub never replicated that effect, but I think that detail is the coolest thing ever.
So something you may have missed: Angry Kamehameha and Dragon Fist both have unique scenes when you *kill* their respective targets with them, as what would have happened in the show/movie they're referencing. =o
Idk about SS2's rush. Everything else is cool, but the rush is kind of underwhelming to me. In the old games (RB - UT specifically), he'd land around three kicks, teleport to the enemy and knee them, flip, and then fire the blast, but here he does two kicks, pauses to form the blast, then fires. Everthing else is nice, but that rush just feels kind of lame.
I‘m still confused why SS3 Goku is the only character who doesn’t get any buffs when he uses *Power Up to the Very Limit* How’s that different from SS2‘s *Full-Power* then? And why did the devs remove the penalty from the moves that instantly put you in Max Power alongside multiple buffs? That penalty made that skill more fitting for SS3 Goku because that transformation drained a lot of energy… Anyway great game and descent animations!
My idea to fix the issue of Goku(mid) having the kaioken Kamehameha in his moveset twice would be to keep the Kamehameha as his beam but change the rush to be the part when he threw 2 Kamehameha balls at Freeza from underwater then surprised him with a flying drop kick. I imagine the rush going like this, Goku kicks his opponent straight up then forms the 2 ki balls and throws them up and hits the opponent, and when they recover from the blasts they look down but Goku is gone, and then he comes out of nowhere with the drop kick.
I like that they give Goku's SS2 form a different kamehameha and a different rush attack instead of giving the form the same supers from base Goku like they did in Tenkaichi 3
It's so crappy how the "Kamehameha" voice line gets cut off if you fire it early. Raging Blast did it right by having Goku say "Kamehame-" at the start so that no matter when you choose to fire it wouldn't ruin the line. You'd think the first game to do it would commit the amateur mistake, not the one that's supposed to do everything right...
I haven’t played the game yet, but from what I’ve heard and observed, it almost seems like Spike Chunsoft were so scarred by the criticisms of the Raging Blast games that they ultimately decided “People thought Raging Blast was a downgrade? Something interesting is that the moveset for Goku in the story mode is different if you go through different routes. It's a shame we can't edit the moves.
I really am curious what he thinks about the GT characters in this game. They seem to be the ones who got the biggest moveset overhauls in terms of the veteran cast for good or worse.
"Oh look a bast volley" Yep.... and the move is on a character that actually used it in the manga, which is a nice touch. (Goku spammed Ki blasts in the manga, not Vegeta. The anime changed this for some reason.)
The fact is, the anime used ki spam when it needed to buy some time. It was filler, basically, which is why it never worked. Vegeta became known for it because he had a lot of fights where he was losing, aka really good times to bust out ki spam so you could get 1-2 minutes of animation of that and the smoke clearing. The anime used a lot of things like this to buy seconds or minutes here and there.

That's what I want to see. I've seen these things looking the exact same for damn near 30 years now, I love that this game changes it up a bit. It gives things more of a sense of space to me, like they don't always exist from the exact same angles.
As pretty as this game looks, the presentation has felt really off from the movesets I've seen? It just makes me miss Raging Blast's presentation for its moves; they felt more deliberate, especially with stuff like the Spirit Bombs. Not to mention that I think not having the ability to customize supers is a bit of a miss, since that let you get more accurate movesets, like not having an early goku with Kaioken against Raditz and the like.
100% That's a good way to put it. It just feels like the art direction / camera direction was way more interesting in that one, taking in all the right angles from the show. Here it's a bit all over the place. It's like they let the 3d animators randomly choose the angles, instead of having them properly thought out by a professional

The impact is really lacking in this game. Animation wise it’s great, however the cinematography from BT3 and RB2 along with the sound design made the hits feel extra crunchy. Kinda miss that actually
I still think Kaioken x3 Goku should've been a form for Goku (Early). That way that Goku could have both of his Kaioken rushes between base and transformed as well as a non-charging Kamehameha to match Scouter Vegeta's Galick Gun properly.
... i dont get why both normal and super kamehameha have to be on the same moveset its not a show accurate thing couldve atleast swapped it out for IT Kamehameha(edit) so they did do the BT3 thing where end goku has it but then its more why does he have 2 of the same super? like give him something different
It is weird, but would it have been better if they kept the rush but gave him a normal Kamehameha? Or just stick with the BT3 moveset where he had a rush he shouldn't have?
@@WumboJumbo96 They should have just given him a different rush, it's not like he's lacking in moves from Namek. Maybe give him the attack he used to drop Burter, a big kick to the back followed by an elbow to the neck and then just catch and toss them like trash. That would have looked cool and been far less redundant.
Is that the best you can do? -> dies. For real though, same problems as with other Sparking Zero moves here. Variety is somewhat foregone in favour of more Kamehamehas, and they all end too swiftly without leaving some time for them to fizzle out or linger
Man, some of these moves I would change at this point. I am glad the Kamehameha times 20 rush is added, but they could have replaced the beam attack on Goku. Not every Goku needs a generic Kamehameha. It is worse when you see some have 2 Kamehameha variants. Take some scenes from the movies at least. Speaking of Movie attacks, instead of a volley blast move, End Super Saiyan Goku could have the Super Kaioken from the Pikkon filler arc. Super Saiyan 3 Goku's rush I would have replaced with the one he used against Janemba. That looked far more impressive when he beat up the giant and smashed him to mush. I feel a lot of the moveset of Goku could be expanded if there were Kaioken and non-Kaioken variants. Goku early could have a different ultimate when using Kaioken in Max Power mode. Then I could see him go Kaioken times 4 Kamehameha which i feel would be much cooler. Then we could have perserved Meteor Combination and have all variants of Kaioken in his moveset by the number of Kaioken used. Like Kaioken times 2 using the rush against Nappa. Kaioken times 3 using the rush agains Vegeta that forced him to go insane. I know it would be extra work, but then we wouldn't need more Gokus. There are like 4 base Goku's that look exactly the same. As for Super Saiyan 2 Goku, couldn't they take something from DBS? I think Super Saiyan 2 was used quite a lot in the fights for some reason. But instead some of its moves are given to Super Saiyan Goku from DBS who literally did nothing from my memory that is worth having it as a seperate character. I mean a lot of characters would benefit from the Goku End treatment who goes Super Saiyan Mid Ultimate. Just have him transform Super Saiyan 2 during the Ultimate or something.

Good video, but can we talk about early Goku's bare foot breaking like that when he charges a Kamehameha? Did he stub his foot on a table and now it's forever looking like a road bump in fights?🤣

I wish SSJ3 Goku had Meteor Impact as a move.
At least, he doesn't have super explosive wave.
We need a Goku from the 23rd Tenkaichi with Meteor Combination as Ultimate
I don't like that they got rid of the reaction shot from the Angry Kamehameha. The scene feels incomplete without it.
Which reaction shot? He has the shot of him after killing Frieza if you win with it
@@TamsinV The one where you see the enemy gets vaporized into the beam that was introduced in Raging Blast I reckon
@@TamsinV The one where you see Frieza's eyes bulge.
3:57 What's going on with Goku's right leg?
This brings me back.
These are all getting added to the classic playlist. The characters may be out of order, but that’s fine for right now.
i don't know why he has the twenty times kamehameha twice, one as a beam and one as a rush
It is weird, but would it have been better if they kept the rush but gave him a normal Kamehameha? Or just stick with the BT3 moveset where he had a rush he shouldn't have?
@@WumboJumbo96 i'm still mad they removed rhe meteor combination. it would have looked so good here (assuming they could make it look good)
@@weirdface1846 I feel you there. It was one of my favorite rushes despite it not making sense for Goku(Mid) to have it.
@@WumboJumbo96 They should have just given him a different rush, it's not like he's lacking in moves from Namek. Maybe give him the attack he used to drop Burter, a big kick to the back followed by an elbow to the neck and then just catch and toss them like trash. That would have looked cool and been far less redundant.
hey guys, could anyone let me know which ost is at 11:04? would be so great thanks
Is that the best you can do? -> dies.
For real though, same problems as with other Sparking Zero moves here. Variety is somewhat foregone in favour of more Kamehamehas, and they all end too swiftly without leaving some time for them to fizzle out or linger
3:57 Goku's new beam, the "Kameha"
Oh we're so back!
My dad may never come back but my glad omega did
I feel like Super Dragon Twin Fists should also work on giants, since he used it on Fat Janemba in the movie
I miss Meteor Combination... At least a little
Man, some of these moves I would change at this point.
I think they gave ssj3 a unique ko animation if you finish them off with dragon fist.
They BETTER add soon the Meteor Combination or I'm gonna start tweaking
Why didn't you show the unique ending screen for SS Mid Goku?
am i the only one thinking sean's voice sounds a little more worn out than usual?? might just be the way they recorded his lines for this but still
Yo Omega. Was it not you that made a top ten supers vid on budokai 3?
The victor was cell and you went on a tangent about why stupid energy was so good.
This was like 15 years ago and i really wanted to watch that but can't find it..
Another thing about the ultimate is that the cutscene doesnt play on giant characters😢
I miss meteor combination
I miss when dragon fist started with a spirit bomb
With this game introducing beams that turn INTO rushes, Goku (mid) could have easily had the decoy Kamehameha into drop kick he hit Frieza with
With this pattern, I take it GT Goku moveset is next.
There are a few things Im not liking about this game compared to BT3, details that happen to be very imporant to me. Yeah Im too lazy to elaborate.
Example: 8:05 Buu is misplaced.
I always wondered why the OG Spirit Bomb blasted the victim in the air like that, and why Goku hasn't used it since 🤔
It does that because it hit Vegeta while moving upwards. Every other time he used it he threw it down towards his opponent.
It would be nice to see different variations of the Spirit Bomb again
Rip meteor combination
AINT NO WAY
Till 90 omega rock on 🤘🏻
Personally I hate how Super Twin Dragon Fists doesn't work on giants, despite the fact that it was used against Janemba.
Good video, but can we talk about early Goku's bare foot breaking like that when he charges a Kamehameha? Did he stub his foot on a table and now it's forever looking like a road bump in fights?🤣
The VA for goku sounds more nasally in this game
The new kaioken attack is from vegeta fight too?, i thought it that was a brand new move from the developers, i still preffer the old kaioken attack from bt3, the one that goku used on vegeta, i do not like the one that goku used on nappa.
1:45 About that throw, what does it do to the ones that don't have a tail?
That throw is only unique to Frieza. Otherwise he just grabs the opponents leg
for some reason i can’t use the spirit bomb for frieza it just softlocks me idk why 😭
(btw i alr used the share your energy with me but it still doesn’t work)
Wtf did they do with sound effects they are all muffled.
Early Goku have two version before train with king kai and after, anybody knows how to use Goku before king kai to play at battle mode cause in battle early Goku only has king kai version
Super saiyan 2 goku will always be cursed with a bad ultimate
The better Goku variant 👀
