- Stalker 2 is playable for the first time at gamescom 2023 and we do our best to describe what is being shown behind closed doors. The Stalker 2 gameplay still looks a bit early, but it's clear the tone the team is going for. This is not an "easy" call of duty romp through a village. Every bullet should be considered, and every encounter could be deadly.

Reviewers, Testers and even Developers rarely play games themselves. They're all in it for the money which is why they never understand the fanbase which plays their games.

The red sky he refers to is an emission, a random occurrences of concentrated psy-energy and radiation that kills anyone outside shelter
In fact, not accidental, the release can be created by a group of scientists awareness

Well, the emissions didn't kill scar, and strelok also survived them. So maybe skiff is another stalker that can withstand them and survive. Skiff is the name of the guy we play as in 2 apparently.
Seems like quite the experience we're in for.

@@B1itz If the game is great overall no one will care about the downgraded graphics. My concern is that they haven't really shown the game off properly, other than a few very short moments.
I’ve played the OG stalker games, absolutely amazing and a great steal on steam rn. And I’ve been playing Anomaly for a couple years now, so if this game can compare to anomaly (which imo is the best stalker experience yet) than that’s great news
I’m having such a hard time with anomaly Man. Even the easy factions. Every gun in broke and that quest to find the first guy for clear sky is broken

A decir verdad ya tenía muchas sospechas sobre el primer trailer y al final tuve razón tal parece que el primer trailer solo era un renderizado para enseñar lo que sería en si el juego pero la verdad es que el juego aún se sigue viendo casi igual de bien con unos cuantos bajones claro.Espero que estos 4 o 6 meses le sirvan para optimizar el juego y hacerlo sentir más fluido.

Install some mods. Just mods that fix bugs so you can experience the vanilla version of the game.
The original games are fantastic experience, it can runs through a potato and still have dozens of hours in it, the gameplay and survival aspects are very modern yet "crude" (like playing COD and later playing Quake, you can see the "soul" of scavenging that we see today) and the controls aged quite well

Look at the game's title on Steam. It's a Ukrainian game about a Ukrainian place, don't be surprised that they use Ukrainian spelling.
They changed it to Chornobyl as a signification of Ukrainian independence and identity, Chornobyl being the Ukrainian spelling.
The complaining is disheartening. People only care about graphics anymore.

it's not that we only care about graphics, but look at how the game was presented visually in previous trailers and screenshos and then compare that footage to the trailer from today. it looks a hell of a lot worse, people are obviously going to comment on it especially as this game is supposed to be a big showing for UE5

Tinfoil hat me thinks that they got gready with sympathy funds and didn't want to use it to fund the game So they scrapped the old build and farted out this instead and simular things have happened before with Gearbox Alien coloniel marines and Platinum using Microsofts money for Scalebound to fund Nier Automata.

A large number of the devs that created Metro 2033, worked on S.T.A.L.K.E.R Shadow of Chernobyl before leaving for 4A Games(Metro Dev Studio).
The founders of 4A games (Metro Dev Studio) were 3 GSC ( the S.T.A.L.K.E.R Dev Studio) employees.
Metro Exodus has way better graphics though. They downgraded Stalker like crazy

STALKER Anomaly: GAMMA - has definitely revived the series ahead for STALKER 2. If you haven’t played STALKER and the 2 “expansions” - GAMMA is definitely for you to check out, original games, more modernised. A far better experience for new players to the game and get into.

No. neither Anomaly nor Gamma revived the series. It was only because MILSIM channels played them thus causing a giant influx of newcomers to the series

If they were going to downgrade the graphics that badly why did they mislead everyone with the original trailer, which was advertised as gameplay? It wasn’t a target render, it was supposedly gameplay based on what they said. And this is the PC version by the way, imagine how bad the Xbox version will look. Gaming is in such a weird place right now honestly

@@jarofrice4529Usually a game is supposed to look better with development time, not worse. They revealed the game years ago and it now looks worse, that’s the problem. The latest trailer released today shows that.
If he is really serious about playing some STALKER before STALKER 2 comes out; he should consider playing STALKER Anomaly with the GAMMA mod pack as it is essentially the amalgamation and expansion/improvement of the original 3 games and represents the pinnacle of the STALKER gameplay experience to date.
It will probably require a couple of hours of setup time before you can really jump in and probably watching a couple of tutorials on the weapon maintenance and health/post-health systems.

Play the original 3 games start to finish (soc > cs > cop), patched of course
And THEN you can start with the mods because they are far different
Gamma really is different from the original games, as Operator Max pointed out. If you expect Stalker 2 to be like Gamma, you may be a little disappointed.
