I was a little put off about how often dialog is repeated at first, but I’m really enjoying the game now. Those little bits of story really give each round its own unique feel. Can’t wait to see more of the story. My only complaint is that the nighttime exploration seems to go by too quick if there’s no special event.
So question I’m on loop 41 and nothing new has happened since the reveal of the bug role is that the last story based thing that happens or do I just have to wait a while?
@@craftergamer9058 Don't worry, there is plenty more story to go. Its been awhile since I've played the game so I don't remember exactly what you need to do, so I would just keep trying things for now.
My biggest complaint is that whenever Yuriko says anything, EVERYONE believes her. It was only after I got my stats really high that I was able to sway people against her.
I think it's less that they outright believe her so much as they're terrified to go against her. It's usually best to get allies up before going against her and even then I tend to wait until one or two people try her first before I cosign on the following round.
For me, it was the fact that whenever the Gnosia is cornered - they always use regret. Which gets annoying when you''ve confirmed that the person in question was a Gnosia (Happened most frequently with SQ and Kukrushka)
I *LOVED* this game. I blazed through it in about 3 days, and when I wasn't playing I was looking forward to when I could next play it. I never knew playing mafia/werewolf by yourself could be so fun, and the story was brilliant (especially the true ending- hit me right in the feels). Now I'm suffering because unlike other visual novels I've played (Ace Attorney, Danganronpa), Gnosia is a standalone with a fairly small fandom, so there's not much content aside from the game itself.
Oh my god. Yes! It’s so great how it inches you towards the answer while making gameplay more complex. I couldn’t put it down. But I can see how people can still enjoy it playing for 30 min bursts
To not argue.. this doesn't feel like Among us or Werewolf... this us the Scifi-Anime version of "Welcome to Salem" The fact I died more often for not playing right brings me "Town of Salem" flashbacks...
It's been a while since I last paid the full price for a game but the fact that this game is supposed to be like Raging Loop convinced me instantly. Glad to see you gave it a great score. I probably wouldn't have known about this game without your news so thanks
Thanks for the great review! I’ve been interested in this VN ever since it was released JP-only on Vita. I grabbed it as soon as it appeared on eShop, so I’m glad to know it’s a really good game. Also, to people commenting: NO it’s not a rip-off of Raging Loop, they’re both just based on a similar premise, but they’re both amazing and worth playing (the humour and characters in raging loop, and the underlying mystery is AMAZING)
Just saw one of my friends on the switch playing this game and having never heard of it before I needed to check it out. And oh wow this sounds like it would be right up my alley. I love vns and mystery, might have to get this some time
It’s alright; it’s turn-based and you can look at the discussion log after the ‘loop’ ends to learn exactly how everyone figured stuff out; who spotted liars, how they think, etc.
this game is so damn cool. i've only played a little bit but i absolutely love it, the atmosphere and art and just EVERYTHING is such a delight ngl i found myself simping hard for SQ and that ended up being my downfall a couple times....my Lesbian Brain overrided my Logical Brain lmao

Vita version isn’t localized. And I doubt Playism (they’re behind the localization for the western release, pretty sure they don’t cares about PSVITA. Nor do the developers given that the game no longer a Vita exclusive.) So the switch version as it stands now is the only version with localization
So there is a constantly moving story in this? it's not just a "endless board game" simulation type thing? The narrative gets sprinkled in a little more ever loop, even though the scenarios are different? Its just a hard concept to grasp for me. The Vibe is so up my ally. Is it like a VLR or 999 thing where the less you know the better kinda game? Thanks for any additional information you can give. I would say for the most part your review sold me. great review
All characters have backstories that you get to know overtime by discovering special events at night each loop, and some characters are important to the overall mystery of the game and requires special conditions for them to tell you more about it.
Port Esskaden No problem ! Indeed you’ll sometimes have "quests" inside a loop that Setsu will help you with in order to learn several new facts about some characters, that generally involve letting a specific character survive or letting another get voted out.
I feel like it could've been better, but it's hard to really tell without knowing the under the hood information. Some of the logic of certain characters seems to feel off, like a collaborator suddenly suspecting you, to then never vote for you. Gnosia will sometimes suspect other Gnosia to confuse things, which might make sense in the real world Werewolf, but in a single player chess like game it just evokes too much randomness for what is just simply a numerical logic deduction game rather than psychology. It's AI and numbers, trying too hard to make it feel otherwise wasn't necessary. It also feels pretty impossible to win as crewmate sometimes without having the engineer or doctor role. There's nothing you can really do to play detective beyond seeing if the other engineer and doctor actually figure something out, and again it's kinda random. The game also struggles with the whole concept of being killed off by Gnosia. You rarely get voted off early on, and the game, perhaps rightfully so, wants to keep you alive to actually preserve the fact this is a solo experience. But to get so far into a round to then get killed off just feels ill placed when the only thing really affecting that chance is a skill check. They should've implemented a system whereby you could inhibit the body of a remaining character, yet if you choose incorrectly and said character is a Gnosia, AC or bug, you then lose the round. Not really sure about the ease of which you can set the rules either. Playing as Gnosia with 6 against 15 in story mode is silly
Another note that you forgot to mention it sucks how long it takes for story events to happen your sitting there for like 20 rounds before something important happens and besides giving you EXP those non story rounds are meaningless.
I am such an idiot , I bought the physical version of the game and that shit doesn't have English in the cartridge, just the digital version has English. What the fuck am I gonna do with that😅😅😅😅😅😅
Yeah that's my thoughts on it too. I don't see why the game can't be procedurally finished to its end. If you're en route to an easy victory with 1 enemy left to vote off it's just annoying to lose the game to a Gnosia kill.
Exactly it makes the whole Gnosia cultist role worthless since if you die or are voted you still lose anyway even though your supposed to device other people.
The major problem with this game is dying to Gnosia attacks at the back end of a round. Like, it's a single player game and makes no sense to constantly kill you off with no sense of reward when you were just about to solve the puzzle. Even with the stealth stat, it's just meaningless when there's minimal people left. And if the stealth stat does stop Gnosia killing you off when you are logically the most sensible target to kill off, that's kind of gamey anyway. The game says you won't get targeted if you don't piss off the Gnosia... like, duh, how else are you to win the game beyond doing things that get them voted off in the first place. They really, really needed to think of a better system around this. Even if it was just finishing the round off by means of AI. Cause the constant sense of losing to this is an absolute killjoy for me.
You want to make sure you're not forcing the issue all the time - if you know someone is Gnosia, take the initiative and doubt on them once in a single debate at most, but prioritize joining arguments against the enemy since you don't gain as much aggro if you don't start the round. Additionally, you sometimes just want to not say anything and let the debate go on without you. Also if you have the Small Talk ability unlocked, use it on occasion; it'll make you less likely to be targeted and has a good chance of working without anyone interrupting. Once I realized this and raised my Stealth a bit, getting killed by the Gnosia was a rarity.
The struggle - after experimentation I found announcing your findings then keeping your head down the dropping some small talk at the end was the best bet to not get killed (even then I still die a lot) 😭😭😭
The G is definitely silent. You can look up the definition, but "gnosis" is the Greek word for "knowledge" and "gnosia" is the ability to perceive or recognize the nature and form of people and things. Makes sense given that's what this game is about. So "Gno" is where we derive the word "Know", and both are pronounced the same. If you look up the definition online for Gnosis or Gnosia or any other derivation of the word you'll see the G is silent :)
