Welcome to Setesdal, Norway! We have driven to Bygland, located 420 km (260 miles) south of our home, to visit the place where Arne’s grandmother’s house once stood. With us, we bring a suitcase full of things related to her life in Setesdal and embark on a journey to find out more about her through the craft traditions of this region.
We bring your our new series Norwegian Craft Traditions - this time we are in Setesdal, last year we went to Lofoten.

Oh my gosh, thank you both. I am a 73 year old quilter living in Middle, TN, USA. I started watching you because my Grandparents, Johan Erik Nordblom and Aina immigrated from Aland, Sweden, early 1900s to MA, USA. I wanted to learn something about their life/homeland in Scandinavia. They had 13 children, two died and lived in a converted barn, no running water or electricity for ever. And a lot of snow. My grandfather worked in home construction but I always wondered was he just homesick or hardy/tough? He came from a fishing family. It is easy to see the beauty but hardships and winter hunger were first. A teacher friend of mine warned me about "romanticizing" the past. Thank you for all the effort you both put into your channel, it always brightens my day.
You guys are so darned adorable. Everybody needs a pony. I’m going to love this series.
