This is a good video. Helped me decide to get my Vader a month ago. Went bang for buck and learned to work on bike. Carb just not the best on cold days but once warm works great! I am 55 and am enjoying it and the savings over the Grom my son told me not to get but with money saved, can upgrade and customize Vader. Saw my first Vader some chick bought used and in great shape , a couple years ago. An old chick was riding it and I thought it was so cool! Sold my CBR 250r to just chill and slow down now. Thanks
That’s awesome congrats!! Go to my “boom Vader mods” video to make sure it’s as reliable as possible. All in I was $1500 including shipping and it’s been as reliable as a grom which out the door is usually $4500 new
@@BrapGenius I will be watching your mods vid on my lunch time today. I’m from here in southern California and some Groms are going for 5500, and I know they can’t have that low mileage when there are a few years older I know people are swift, switching out the cluster and that’s why they’re asking so much when the bikes really do have more mileage on them that’s kind of shady so my son and I rented a U-Haul van and we went down to the warehouse Los Angeles, in La Puente and picked the Vader’s up. After you told me that they were at red Fox, I looked it up how far away it was and that’s how we went down to get them. Thanks for the info. If it wasn’t for you, we wouldn’t of gotten him picked up. we saved well over $600 For us and shipping.
I just ordered mine yesterday. I’ve never even been a passenger on a bike but for some reason I feel like I needed to own this. I’m excited. I appreciate your video. I plan to lean on this bike then go from there.
You will love it. Welcome to the bikelife. Definitely do the mods I listed, look up “boom Vader mods”
@@BrapGenius where do i get one?
@@nolankelly309 I got mine from redfox Powersports
@@BrapGenius was it delivered?
@@robertohernandez4063 yup they shipped it np
Great commentary. Thank you! I recent got the BD125-2 cafe old school looking bike and I LOVE IT! She turns heads and gets compliments on almost every ride.
Hell yeah 😁
Just picked one up today from a co worker, paid $700. Only had 54 miles on it. Hard too get into second but could just need too be broken in or a new shifter but a good ride tbh. Better than a Apollo 125
Yeah it just needs to be broken in. That’s a steal congrats on the bike
Hey man thanks for commenting back to a lot of people. It gave me hope you would get back with me. This will be my first bike. My question is - can I bring it to like 5 minute oil change or speede when it needs an oil change? Also, can I bring it to Walmart or like autozone when it needs a new battery? Last question- do I have to have a motorcycle license to ride it?
Just got my license and I only live 3 miles from work and wanna use something to have fun with and learn about bikes. This is pretty nice and would definitely be a fun project for me.
Trying to get the bike next month so I can work on it and have it when my birthday comes. Every video I see is like “I don’t care who you are, you need this bike” and everyone I talk to who has or loves it. Gonna check out your upgrades playlist for ideas
Facts do those upgrades and it’s worth it
Not gonna lie...your the reason why I want to buy it so badly!
Glad you’re interested! I love this little bike
He’s the reason I bought mine. At 600 miles no problems at all.
@@yaboy4008 glad to hear it!
@@yaboy4008 how is it now? How many miles can this bike last?
@@Reptilefamily7 I’ve seen people at 20k moles
Let me start off this comment by saying how impressed I am at how clear your voice came out even while riding!
Thank you!!
awesome vid. cant fricken wait mine is coming inna few days. I've had about 20 bikes ranging all the way to heavy 1200cc. Already got new carb, chain, sprockets, fuel line. Should be a fun little bike and project !
It’s such a blast and incredible value for the money
@@BrapGenius that's awesome to hear. Like you said for the money you can't go wrong. with a few little mods it seems like a great bike.
Any links to mod community?
If the gear box is clunky, i would recommend taking the clutch cover off and find that little screw with the flat head slot, might need some adjusting inwards
Good call thank yoy
@@BrapGenius let me know if that works, the next time there is a grom crawl in NYC let me know, I live in queens
Great job! You helped me make up my mind on this vs a used Monkey.
You’ll love it!!
Just bought mine today what a bike honestly 😍
They’re so much fun tbh
Where did u buy and how much are they now
Great vid. I'm considering one for the same reasons you did. Just kicking around on it.
Vibration issue: have you checked the wheel balance? With Chinese dirt bikes, the wheels aren't balanced AT ALL from the mfg. Harbor Freight has an effective balancer for only 40 bucks, but you might find a shop to do it for 10 bucks a wheel. It makes a huge difference on a small bike for a wheel to even be a half ounce out of balance. You won't feel it until you start hitting 40mph and above, then it feels like the mirrors are gonna fall off.
That’s a great call I haven’t tired it tbh. I’ll give it a shot. Part of the reason there’s so much vibration is because it has a pit bike motor
Been looking at this bike and the more videos I watch the more I want it. I’ll be a first time rider and I think this will give me good experience long with learning about the bike
It’s a little challenging doing the mods to it for a beginner but that’s the best way to learn imo. Plus it’s such a cheap way to get into bikes and see if you really like them or not
Thanks for the video, it was helpful. I'm really thinking about getting this since it's cheaper than the Honda Navi.
They’re great bikes honestly
Great video! I was on the fence, but you helped me decide to get one now! RT 80 New Jersey goes right through my old hood Buddy Lake 😊
I live kind of close to there honestly that’s funny. Small world 😂
Just bought one and it’s great thanks to you
Congrats!! Check my other vids if u have questions
you said you got it for ~$1,000 which website did you order it from the lowest I've found it so far is $1300? maybe inflation..
My First time riding that bike, i love it 😄
Hell yeah😎
Ty for the video list
I need my.zip.bike...Zippy!
this is great! Im thinking about grabbing one with 400 miles and some mods. whats the link to that video where you said you can do a couple things to greatly increase reliability?
Just look up Boom Vader Mods and my video should pop up
Loved your video. Have been thinking about getting one of these to learn how to ride but I know nothing about motorcycles hence don’t trust myself to put it together. Also don’t have any biker friends, do you think Amazon has an option for me to request them to put this together for me on delivery?😬
Thank you! And I don’t think they have that option but it isn’t too difficult to put it together. It’s 85% together when they send it you just put on the front wheel and a spring for the suspension I believe. There are videos showing step by step how to put it together
I actually just bought a mini max 150cc. Can’t wait to ride it!
Heard those are dope enjoy it!
In the vibration you can replace motor mounts with the groom ones and it helps
Good looks
I was so torn between this and the hawk 125, went with the hawk, now you have me wanting one so bad again, learning wheelies on the hawk, but i think the vader/x20 would be even better to wheelie and just as much fun off road
As long as you’re riding that’s all that matters
Ayy bro I just got one from a previous owner I’ve replaced 2 battery’s still not getting any power do you have any pointers it was garage kept for 2 years
Change the spark plug
sorry if this is a dumb question, you dont have mirrors on it? also hows it still holding up now?
It comes with mirrors but I took them off cause I thought they were obnoxious. I’m not going fast enough to be passing anybody lmao it’s still running I’ve had it for 3 years
Is it 1 down three up when shifting on these bikes or is all 1,2,4,4 up?
Yup it’s 1 down 3 up
Had mine for 2 weeks..so much fun!!
That’s dopebb
I've changed oil 4x already only a 350mi cheep insurance broken in on rotella now I run the semi synthetic castrol activo
Exactly 😎
sounds like your from NJ any issues registering it with DMV?
Yes I’m from NJ and I had no issues
You think I should get this as a starter? I don’t really have much experience riding bikes and don’t wanna hop on sum fast
Yes it’s a great bike to learn on
I'm thinking about getting one soon
What's the top speed?
So i just bought one. Waiting on delivery (2 weeks). How do i make it faster? I’ve never owned any sort of bikes and have literally no idea but i want to get into and upgrade eventually to a full size. I just want to know how to make it faster so i can upgrade parts before i upgrade bikes. Thanks
Carb kit will help for sure. Eventually you can upgrade the motor to a 190 or 212
@@BrapGenius thanks man. I’ll keep that in mind
@@BrapGenius Can you make a video showing it?
@@briizcustoms9543 if you go to my playlist “boom Vader” I do have a video of me putting the carb kit on
2 years later, how are you feeling? Any upgrades you recommend? Got one coming in soon and want it all dialed in asap.
Go check my “boom Vader mods” video. Bike is still running strong
@@BrapGenius will do! Thanks for the quick response.
Definitely getting one
They’re so worth it
Change the oil a lot I should last a long time. Johnny McKinney has a good start up video on them it long but a lot of good info to work on 2 hr . Up grade it to a zs 190cc or 212cc for direct swap out should be able to hold at 65mph 800$ best update grom eater. This is a good video to show. That it can last. there also a video by agk racing to build it in to a 141bbk for a little more power out of the stock Vader engine. This bike only sell's for that 1200$ around and after Christmas. The rest of the year it's like $1800 -$ 2000 depending on shipping . Have a great one till the next one 🏍️💯👍👌✌️🥂
Good looks brotha appreciate it!!
Mini bikes are a trend and I enjoyed riding the coleman, hard to find one that could be delivered to California
That’s dope and yeah Cali is super strict
My 2022 vader still shuts off after a full emission delete any ideas on what the issue may be?
When that happens try pulling over, open the gas cap and start the bike. If it turns on then there is vapor lock occurring from another point on the bike
So I saw you do one in the beginning of this video but the most important question is... is it easy to wheelie stock or did you have to mod it first?? lol
It’s all about being in the right spot in the rpms. You can definitely wheelie it but it takes practice
Hey bro I bought one but it's backfiring and no top speed it coughs and pops so the rpms won't go up then I shift and it pops and luges it won't go past 38 mph we talking new carb time?
I think it’s new carb time. Also do the emissions delete
Where did you get it for $1,000 I've been looking online and can't find a new one for less than $1,800
I got mine from Redfox Powersports but I think they’re $1200 now cause of inflation
@@BrapGenius thank you
Just ordered one 1,560.48$ after shipping and taxes. Be here June 10-14th. Pretty excited
That’s dope!! Good luck
hey man, looking for a gas alternative to driving to college each day. Always wanted a motorcycle would you say it’s cheaper to own this than a car gas wise? Can’t find much info regarding it
Oh for sure this thing get 50 mph. It’s only $1200 brand new and to fill it up costs like $4
@@BrapGenius appreciate it man you sold me with this video for sure, you know the mpg by any chance? Or a rough estimate
@@memekkemesmsnkwkwks3519 it’s about 65 mph
65 mpg
Put 87 gas??
those roads you mentioned are like the deadlist in nj
Yup😂
Where did you buy this bike brand new for 1000? I live in queens ny
I got mine from redfoxpowersports.com but that was a few years ago before inflation went crazy so its probably more now
i just bought the 2021 boom vader and i love it!
They’re great bikes glad you like it!
i have this same bike , what battery would u say i should use because my bike wont turn on
I just bought one off Amazon I’ve had it for a year

I have 3,000 miles and so far so good
@BrapGenius how about now? Haha
Sounds Great! I got the AR 50 peace sports. It's an automatic. I overpaid, new out the door, includes tax, $2000.00. In Boston.
Hey that’s awesome tho congrats on the bike!
how's your vader holding up now bro.! looking forward to another vid.!
It’s doing well thank you!! I’ll be posting videos every Friday starting this week again. Works been really busy but I’ll have some time this week

How did you do on the Turnpike? I want to get one and work on the Turnpike so need something that can handle the highway
It was pretty horrible tbh because it’s slow and tiny but I did make it to where I was going. Wouldn’t recommend for a daily
If this is the bike from Amazon it says in the description that u can’t ride them on highway but I’m guessing that’s because it’s top speed isn’t much
Do you know of any Boom Vader 125-10 mechanics in Los Angeles?
No I’m from new jersey
Sounds really cool, but in my state, I would need a bike license, and I don't really know how that process works in Colorado.
Google it it’s pretty easy
With that bike you can add upgrades to make it way better performance and comfort... I am checking around..i was looking at a Grom or z125 until I saw the clone
Yes that’s what I did
I can’t find any for $1000 only $1700 and up. Where did you find this one?
I got mine from Redfoxpowersports.com but that was before covid idk if they raised prices
This might be a dumb question but what’s the top speed does it hit
About 55 mph
I don’t really see the boom brand anywhere just the xpro is it the same bike they’re both vaders
Yes
Your suppose to run it with the break in oil
I have this bike you convinced me.
Let’s gooo
Well you recomned this bike for a beginner??
It’s a great way to learn how to work on a bike and because it’s not the smoothest when you transition to something else the next bike will be a breeze
Do you have to get the bike taged to ride on the streets
Yes
Thanks
Hey man im from jersey what did you have to do to get the title for it ?
I went to the DMV with the MSO they give you I had 0 issues with getting a title
Thanks man
Did you do the title reg and tag the same day ????
@@familyjvlogs6529 yup at the same time I got the title and registration without any issues
so i just bought one but my question is how much time do you spend doing 55-60
A lot honestly I’ve taken this thing on the highway a bunch of times. Do the mods I did and you should be good it’s in the “boom Vader” playlist
@@BrapGenius yeah pretty sure i did already, ordered the carb the 17 tooth and i ordered rearsets for a grom hopping they will fit to fix the pesky shifter and i saw where you where talking about it vapor locking cause of the emissions bs got a new chain and stunt clutch lever

What’s the difference between Xpro Vader 125cc and Boom Vader 125cc
They’re pretty much the same just different companies
What camera and mic are you using ?
GoPro hero 7 and a basic lapel mic
@@BrapGenius oh ok, your voice is pretty clear . Was just wondering
How do u figure out what year it is and what battery it takes
It should be on the title or look up the vin which is on the frame by the headlight
what is the difference between the BD125-10 and the BD125-15?
I have no clue tbh
BD125-15 is basically OG Grom clone. BD125-10 is the Grom SF clone. Maybe they will call the 2022 Grom clone the BD125-05 😂
How has it been ever since u upload this video , still recommend? Its 1800$ now btw🤣
Yes I’ve had it for 3 years and love it.. and that’s insane it was $999 when I bought it. Damn inflation🤣 look at Redfox Powersports that’s where i bought for a good deal
What kind of oil goes in these
Non synthetic
Where is it being sold for 999$? I’m trying to get one
I got it from Redfox Powersports but that was 4 years ago idk if they’re still that cheap with inflation
I just got it mine should be coming in a week any tips?
Definitely change the oil before you do anything. It’s got garbage shipping oil in it. Check it over make sure nothing broke from shipping and I’d recommend changing the carb and battery ASAP. Other than that you should be good to go 👍
@@BrapGenius yea I've already got the battery you recommended but I can't get the carb kit yet is it okay to leave the og on for like 2 weeks
@@scorchgaming9731 Stock has been fine for me… I’ve put on new exhaust and the stock carb has been fine so far. I have a VM22 waiting to be put on but if my stock carb is up for the challenge, I’m leaving it on for now.
@@SVT___SNAK3 alright thanks man
change the wheel bearings! get a nice cheat set of all balls, a 17tooth front sprocjet and a 428 chain
What’s the insurance like for this little bike ?
I think it’s like $90 for the year lmao
I just bought one from Venom. Apparently they don't even check if the motorcycle is drivable. Mine came with stuck clutch plates, stalls and lurches forward when clicking into 1st. I can shift into 1st 2nd 3rd without holding the clutch in. They sent me a new one but I will have to crack into the clutch case. I think about the only bike work i've done is changing an air filter on a dirt bike 😂 oh well, i bought this bike to learn on!
Oh damn well before you dive into it did you check the clutch cable? If it isn’t adjusted right it could be way too loose. I had the issue where I couldn’t shift with the clutch in because the clutch cable was too tight so it would stay stuck in gear
sounds like a clutch cable issue. If its not adjusted correctly your clutch can be slightly engaged when you don't want it to be.
What kind of oil you need?
Standard 10w40 works
