This takes me back to my 2016 ninja I started on. Man the struggles of going up hill we’re real, but getting over the hump was the best. I remember I hit 120 on my speedo, wind at my back, VERY steep decline, I was screaming just like you were when you hit 90. Small cc’s are underrated.

6:16 That's not really fair either way though, you're always adjust a brand new bike to where you want immediately, fixing things like that, changing speedo from kph to mph should not be negative points for this bike when it's a positive feature to be more accessible to people all around the world.

The nice thing about carbs is they're easier to work on and improve performance with because they're mechanical, not computer controlled. A lot of people that get these bikes swap out the stock carb for a racing carb, like a Mikuni, and get more performance out of the bike for barely any $$.

Chase, Your ride test really brought back memorirs of my younger days riding a 150 Honda. I'm 78 and really can't wait to get a Vitacci GTX 250 bike and start riding again !!
The newer Chinese 250cc single cylinder engines are counter balanced for smoother operation and higher reving ! Plus they are vastly improved over the earlier bikes.
Of course the brand of Full Synthetic Oil you use can also play a major roll in reducing friction in the engine.
    * Per a recent comparison test of all the different brands of Oil, (AmsOil Full Synthetic) scored higher than any of the others !! Also it is compatible with wet Clutch Transmissions which these Chinese bikes have ! Only a few of the other brands made the same claim of wet Clutch use.
Also a decent, well lubricated X ring drive chain plus a good pair of tires will also reduce rolling resistance for better acceleration and road grip as well as handling !

    • @BendApparatus
      @BendApparatus Рік тому

The bike's biggest weakness is the frame welds... they're absolutely shameful... The engine is simple and decent with the powerband between 5-7k rpms. Suspension is serviceable for anyone under 200lb. Gearing is a little off and a 17T front and 38T rear sprocket would be ideal. (I think the "newer" models come with a 17T and a 42T).
But those frame welds are just irredeemable... A possible fix (beyond rewelding the entire frame) would be a full disassembly and using rubber washers on all the engine mount bolts and the exhaust...but that's kind of a taboo subject...

Now that the prices for these have gone up a Duke 200 on sale at a dealership can be cheaper. Excluding registration & things (required for both) if you pay venom to set up the bike the difference in price is a wash. Unless you complete the setup yourself there isn’t much savings.

    • @kevinmanan1304

Wrote this in Jan midwinter & it’s easy to get a duke 200 for $1,000 below Msrp (~$3600 out the door with all fees). If you’re reading in summer during peak ride season & venom does a sale then that will likely make more sense but right now an on sale duke 200 is as cheap as a Honda grom

This is more of a single cylinder 4 stroke verse a v twin 4 stroke closer to 250 cc displacement....a Suzuki GSX250R has a hp rating 24 hp v twin 248cc displacement, these 250cc bikes are closer to 232cc displacement....slightly under 24HP rating. The weight difference is about 48 lbs Suzuki being heavier. Both are good for beginners love the Suzuki Nebula Blue scheme.

I'll make a suggestion, MOST people need to buy a 250-300cc as a starter bike, and visit a small road course track for lessons. Learn how to take/enter fast corners, corner brake and how to use proper technique. This will help you really learn how to ride a motorcycle faster. Buying a 500cc plus motorcycle and just street ride going fast in a straight line is going to limit your riding ability. Riding a motorcycle fast is about technique, confidence, experience and knowledge. You see it all the time at the track. A street rider shows up at the beginner class in a beautiful 600 or 1000, crashes or gets smoked and lapped by a experienced 300/400 rider. Next month you see him on a 250/300/400.

After I rans an oil change or two I'd look a better carb for it. With a little Googling I think it could pick up some nice power and be a solid little around town, country commuter/fun ride.

Chinese bikes are always fun. The only downside is that most motorcycle dealerships won't touch them. lol. I actually own a 2020 Lifan KPM 200. It's my commuter, currently. Better on gas than my MT-10 (and slower, so no tickets), but slightly higher maintenance. I enjoy the bike, though. Especially when I can take it through the twisties at full throttle, because it doesn't go any faster than 65 on flat land with me on it. lol.

@@YusefWakeel only issue I had was the gear shift c clip seemed to come off. Aside from that
($ 0.65 part at local hardware), great. I love it. Could use some padding to dampen the rattle at high RPMs but that's also a cheap fix. Overall I am pleased, esp for the price point. Only other thing I would do is adjust the handle bars. A bit to narrow and can cause wrist fatigue, or a tender wrist for a day or so...it's the angle. But over all it feels like a solid bike for the money. But make sure your break res lines are tight. Mine leaks when not in use over night.

@@thechosen5805 I tightened as much as I could see leading to/from the area. I hadn't seen any since, but I did have to add more fluid due to it leaking out previously. I'm still trying to keep a watch out. Had to get my exhaust/muffler area welded. It broke right around where the slip on fits. But now I have to find out if it's off centered, its noticeably louder now, like there is an exhaust leak coming from the engine area where it screws in...and low end torque has vanished a bit. There seems to be a bit of a gap there, im wondering if something fell out...or if it actually came like that. The gap where the exhaust pipe goes into the engine is open quite a bit, almost like something fits there...but its not there.
