Thank you, Tyler. I haven't played Sekiro or any FromSoftware games. I've considered it though. I just beat Kena: Bridge of Spirits and the boss battles in that are so brutal, I spent days licking my wounds before giving them another go. I can't say I really “enjoyed” it. I don't know if Sekiro is for me. You appear to be a fan. Tell me about your experience. What do you like about it?
@@MediaKitGaming Don't let the brand/reputation dissuade you. The difficulty thing is overblown. But I will say that I think I like Sekiro the most out of those games, as it really feels like a sword fighting simulator, only really polished and cinematic. I like the fact that it sometimes asks you to parry enemies multiple times in a row. That seems unique to me.
I'm still baffled with how much quality and effort goes into these videos. Though I still don't get the aversion to using words like [thing]man. "Man" has been used as a unisex shortening of "human" for centuries.
bro your videos are such high quality, I can tell you put a lot of love and effort into your videos. I subbed a while back and don't regret it. whish ya nothing but greatness man. please continue to upload when you can :)
Thank you, friend! I put a lot of work into them. Too much to really be profitable. IGN could reach my level, but they crank out too many. Further, they're aiming for views and quantity more than quality. But I appreciate your acknowledgment.
@@MediaKitGaming btw I just finished most of your video, once I started seeing I just could not stop seeing such an open minded opinions about games where people are too lazy to share and after seeing most of your video I'm in an empty void and thinking why are there not more videos!? Thanks, but it takes a lot more than good ideas to develop a game. Financing, coding skills, marketing… or just working for a company, a strong tolerance for bad leadership, overwork, and insufficient pay. I’m just an animator with a big mouth. But I appreciate and accept your compliment. Cheers!
the problem i have is actually with both games; why bother including such a fleshed out background mechanic when all it does is hamper the primary loop? its how mgsv lost me in the first place, and even after multiple attempts i just cannot see the point of adding these things to the game.
This is a deeper question that, to answer well, would require more words than I’m gonna write and should come from someone better versed in game development than I am. Nevertheless, most games have a leveling system. You start weak or skillless and evolve to become strong and skilled. Most games use a skill tree but others will use crafting, or mission rewards to unlock buffs or skills. Some use a combination. If you’re a fan of skill trees, you have to grind for points. If you’re a fan of crafting you’ll have to grind for resources. In the case of recruitment systems, you have to grind for recruits. Accumulating people or more skilled people will unlock higher buffs or skills. It's the same mechanic you’ve already been doing, just with a “building your team” wrapper. Why do it? Personally, one of the things I most value in games is the ability to take out opponents non-lethally. I prefer not to leave a trail of thousands of corpses, especially if those were just guards, cops, or soldiers just doing a job for a paycheck. I know, it's just a game. But it matters to me. In Far Cry 6, rescuing prisoners builds an unseen group of recruits that unlocks abilities. In Watch Dogs: Legion the enemies can actually become playable characters. It's one thing to give the player the ability to play nonlethally, like in Cyberpunk 2077. But that game gives NO reason at all to do it. Kill everyone! The game does not care, so it becomes pointless. Recruitment systems incentivize other gameplay methods alternative to becoming a psychopathic serial killer. They also introduce a different way to buff your character in addition to crafting and points grinding.
@@MediaKitGamingthis is all true and i understand its addition, i just feel in mgsv's case specifically its much too grindy and after a while feels repetitive. I think a better alternative to somewhat encourage non lethal play is a dishonored style ranking system with bonus points for ghosting levels. Hell the game already has a ranking system at the end, why not just have that and it be enough. You could even keep the base building elements and recruitment, but add other ways of unlocking higher level equipment or even keep the base building elements unique to the mp mode as fob raids were genuinely fun and made sense as to why you need to extract high level soldiers. Love your channel btw, stumbled on your oni video and went down a rabbithole watching like half your stuff lol. good to see other people making videos about the stuff i actually care about in games, design and ux.
@@jefekeefsosa4998 Thanks for checking out my videos. I spend so much time on each one. Like a month. Anyway. I understand where you’re coming from regarding the grind. We all have our tolerances regarding how much we are willing to endure. In the case of Metal Gear Solid V, The latter grind is there for a reason. Konami wants you to want the higher-tier stuff and wants you to be impatient and just pay real money to get it. That’s why many people don’t like Konami. Konami and Kojima famously did not get along. Kojima is an artist. Konami is a businessman.
@@MediaKitGaming true i definitely feel like a more kojima led project wouldve turned out differently and i probably wouldve enjoyed that game a lot more. Many thanks my friend.
This would already exist if the Assassins Creed games weren't maybe the least mod friendly engine in existence.
Neat idea, really well made videos. Here coz Oni, subbed coz this one.
Come for the Oni, stay for the Assassin's Creed Odyssey! I’m delighted. Thank you.
Omg your video making quality is higher than IGN can ever imagine they could do, which still would be cringe.. awesome video ❤
