I love Wednesdays so much now because I get to have coffee/knitting time with you two! ❤️ I’ve started rewatching the original daily quarantine knitting podcast from 2020 because it was the two year anniversary. I had forgotten what a lovely time it was and actually miss certain aspects of that time. In the beginning of the pandemic, we were all trying to help each other, doing whatever we could to keep each other healthy. We delivered food, reached out to people we hadn’t seen in a long time and even helped people we didn’t know. It was, in a way, a much more innocent time. We didn’t know all the pain, sorrow and division that was to come. Thank you for all you’ve done and are still doing to help us all through these difficult and sad times. 😘 Looking forward to better and happier days for the world🌍🌈🌞

You are so right! I think for a short while we became much kinder people. That trait is obviously in us all for it to come out, but it’s a shame that it is hidden for so much of the time. I recall the quietness particularly, with just the sounds of nature, without the constant drone of vehicles in the background. It also made me appreciate the little things of life, and that fact that ‘material stuff’ gets in the way.

Two days ago, I traded in a 2018 egolf (named "Puff" - she was just a little puff of air) for an ID4 (named "Angela" - after the former German chancellor). I have had solar panels, also since 2018. Even in the rain forest of the west coast of Canada, similar to Norway regarding hydro electricity, there is enough sun to generate adequate electricity. We did get over 1m of snow this winter, the snow stayed on the 35deg pitch roof, and there were about five days where zero generation. Thank you so much for sharing your enthusiasm for green technology. Norway is inspirational.

I don’t know when I learnt to do it, but I have always bound the edges of my canvas with masking tape, not just to stop the canvas fraying, but to stop the tapestry wool wearing on the sharp edges of the canvas. It also makes it more comfortable in your hands. I love the mandrill panel!

Hello from sunny California. I love your "Sit and Knit for a Bit" after discovering you in November after I fell (due to Covid) and fractured my back. It's been a very long recovery but I can't believe how much knitting I've accomplished after pain subsided some. My next project is your sweater for Ukraine 🇺🇦 . I only learned to knit when I retired 3 years ago. It was thanks to wonderful knitters like you that I was able to teach myself to knit after decades of crocheting. You make me feel like I'm sitting with friends enjoying conversation. Thanks so much! I have discovered that I knit and hold my working yarn just like you guys. My grandmother had tried to teach me to knit when I was very young and this is how I learned to tension and hold my yarn; No fingers in the air and no intricate wrapping of the yarn! Thanks again. PS We visited Norway shortly after retiring and went to Mt. Floyen where our Grandson broke his arm while playing at a beautiful park! We met some wonderful locals who helped us get to the hospital where he received excellent care.

I’m glad that you had folk to help you when your Grandson broke his arm - I’m sure that it is the kindness rather than the pain which will stay in your memories!

Use the sample pot of the paint colour that you chose, to paint a large piece (1metre square) and move that around your room. It will have different tints on different walls, depending on the direction of the daylight and the lamplight.
And you know from your designers’ Colour Theiry, that paint colour is also influenced by curtain and furniture colours and vice versa 🍀

So, I think that the embroidery above the piping is using a technique called couching. If I understood the directions you gave, Carlos, you lay the doubled wool down along the top of the piping and then with a silk thread, you couched the wool down onto the sleeve. i love this technique. I made a complete Christmas wall hanging using a thick gold braid couched down on the background. It was lovely and the best part is that the gold was so thick it would have required a very large needle to actually sew it down. That would have made large holes in the background fabric. As always, I love the entire episode. So much inspiration from you both. Thank you.

I love your pincushion! I have one like it, made by my great grandmother more than 100 years ago; it, too, has needles lost inside.
I also have a little pillow that I embroidered with my name in my recognizable handwriting when I was 8. My parents were traveling in Europe and we children stayed with our grandmother. She probably thought it would be a sweet gift to my parents as well as a way to keep us children occupied; all I remember is misery stitching that thing. Very untidy stitches - and even worse stitches attaching the little panel onto the pillow. It sits in my living room today and I laugh when I think of it. I loved my grandmother and her mother, my gr-grand, but they were skilled needlewomen and artists - and I was not.
So much in common among all of us around the world, isn’t there? Thanks for this episode.

In the UK it's a great idea too, do long as you get a good tarrif. Some people complain about it not helping them, but it's cus they are using the council tarrif which is awful. Shop around and get a good tarrif and that helps a lot

I just started to learn the Norwegian knit style by following your videos and I love it! It feels so natural to how I hold the knitting needles. I wish I had learned it first. My yarn tension has never looked better. Thank you for making these videos for us.

I still prefer English style but I'm glad I learned continental :)

@@Stettafire I initially learned English style. I still like it but there is more movement involved so it isn't as efficient. I wanted to knit faster so I learned continental.

@@sharmilawilliams3599 I'm just as fast with both, but then again I've been knitting since I was 5. My tension is also identical with both :)

Your jackets look stunning - professionals! Thank you for another beautiful episode. You are both so sweet. Arne, I just love your label and the jacket you made for Carlos and that lining…..wow. Extraordinaire 💕

I like the fact that one of you is in a sunflower yellow, and the other in a deep blue. I don't know if you did that deliberately, but it was well done. And by the way, if you're planning on having a neighbor attend to your plants in the greenhouse, make sure it unlocks from the inside - you don't want a repeat of the episode with the trash shed!
