Black is the dumbest colour choice for any car in sunny climates. I could "upgrade" my 2022 Atto3 just by mounting better front tyres. The infotainment screen is big enough to control the car functions, and I don't watch movies in my car. The drive control system can and has been improved by over-the-air updates. And finally, the first thing I did with the new car was to get the hairdryer and some fishing line to work on the lettering on the rear hatch - no more tacky "BUILD YOUR DREAMS" slogan. Presto, there is your new model Atto 3.
But black is a preferred colour in most Asian hot countries. Go figure.
I agree! It looks so much better than BUILD YOUR DREAMS As you say, black is a really dumb choice for hot countries for sure. My Pearlescent Light Silver Grey AKA White, looks outstanding and with the fitment of Continental tyres, it drives so much better.

Exactly, better technology and maybe better battery power and range???? The Continental Contact 2 are good tires for the new Otto 3.
Tires are your only points of contact with the road. It only makes sense to spend money on better tires.
Different interior colour options would be good ideal on the Atto 3.
Exterior colors too.. peoper white etc.
The speeding warning ONLY happens if you use the BYD navigation app, other apps through Android or Apple do NOT do this.
the latest news, byd reduce the price of atto3 to 119800 CNY in china at 2024.3.4, just equal to 16641 us dollars

Byd 2nd largest market outside of china is India in 2023 which sold 17,000 but still not received any facelift I guess it always comes after UK Byd launched byd seal in Uk it immediately launched in India idk why byd 2nd largest market did not receive any facelift from 2023

Rumor said BYD will launch the 5th Gen of DM Tech and 2nd Gen of blade batteries on Beijing Auto Show in April.

All of what you mentined is just window dressing. What would really make the dfference would be 90 KW battery pack and atleast 150 KW fast charging. 60 KW battery pack is just too small for Australia. I just saw a video where someone drove atto -3 from Sydney to Melbourne they had to make 5 stops , I am not going to say anything here people can reach their own conclusions.

New tyres are apparently wider so more surface contact with the road. Good for traction but might be lower efficiency

I can't believe that in 2024 they will leave the charging power at 88 kW. No car charges so slowly anymore...
In general use, whilst not the fastest speed, it's perfectly acceptable. Don't forget the price point of the vehicle before you make such inane comments.
@@LouDeVere In Europe these cars have a very similar price, let's see the charging powers. Byd Atto 3 and Dolphin 88 kW, Jeep Avenger 100 kW, Smart #1 and Smart #3 130 kW, Volvo EX30 134 kW, Tesla Model 3 RW 160 kW. Byd is the worst for the same price
@@fiewu34hiufyou have to see the charging curve. The BYD maintains 88kW right from empty up to 65%, and still charges at 33kW even at 99%, the Tesla at that state of charge, already drops to less than 10kW

Don't see much changes here, another colour that's all, we in Europe already get conti,s with the car, and don't have to reset ADAS for any reason, the screen is available in 15ins already if you opt for the design model. So what's new?

Confused, got the cheesy build your dreams on the rear in UK first registered late march 24 😢 going to a detail centre to see if they can do something about it but have the new big screen due to it being the higher spec model , thankfully dont do black ,unless a funeral or a unmarked police car. Ps heated seats in Oz ? 😅😅😅 it also came with the better continental contact tyres 😊 ps Oh dear your 2- 4 centimetres away from the perfect position on the road , TREMBLING 😖the steering wheel, so I have happily switched off the paranoid. lane keep assist .
Not a compelling upgrade for existing owners. Sure, bigger screen and better tyres. Tyres can be upgraded if owners feel the need. Infotainment improvements hopefully will be available to the existing Atto 3 with software update(s). Wonder if the Android version has been updated from the fairly old v10?
I wonder wether China will improve its tire quality and become a big player in the tire industry as well. Not sure due to the CO² emissions comes with. Would be better for China to take the entire CO² emissions - mild industry and leave the dirty work to the US and Europe (just as they did and are still doing to all of Asia for decades).

@LouDeVere Did you not watch the video, even Viking says the good days of BYD are over they are falling fast in sales, probably not helped by poor quality control and poor aftersales service. They have a really poor rating in China, seems they put more quality into their international exports, but even then some markets have long wait times on spares

nope, BYD does not stand for anything, Because all the other names that he could think of had been registered when the founder tried to register his company. There is a footage on UA-cam somewhere prove he said in an interview. It is just a random name in Chinese characters did not mean anything in Chinese nor english.😂😂
Build your dreams came from Chinese at an online forum for BYD fans, And the company just went with it.

I wonder why you think this? I'm not keen on the guitars in the doors and not overly keen on the air vents in the dash either but to use your impolite term seems very harsh. Still, after over 18 months, the best vehicle I've ever owned and I've had some beauties in the past German, Japanese and Korean.

What do you mean? Explain how the Atto 3 can burn a driveway. It's not a ICE vehicle, it is a BEV.
Byd has been on the streets here in Thailand for more than a year. Not heard of amy fire so far. Unlike ICE.
