I realize i'm comparing single vs dual DIMM vs quad DIMM here, so take it for what it is. These are all valid RAM configurations in the end. I'm thinking of doing a follow up focusing on single vs dual vs quad rank. thanks for checking out my vid!
Also at 01:04, I listed the 5800X3D and 4060 in the specs. It is actually a 5700X3D and 4090 OOPS🤐
Never do that again😂
good content, as always! thanks for information!
Not only the effort of recording the FPS, but also your explanations and analogies were amazing as well.. Thanks for the video, my friend. Subbed and liked, of course. Huge content
thanks so much for your encouragement and sub! means a lot, glad it was helpful!
I didn't expect to find such a thorough and in depth video when I was trying to decide if I wanted to upgrade my memory for tarkov. Thanks for the amazing research.
no problem and thanks for your kind words!
Huge fan- you got me into a 7800x3d and i appreciate it.
You should really do an in depth explainer on Tarkov's settings (nvidia/in game) it would be the best one
thank you so much!
here's my settings guide: ua-cam.com/video/lOSf_aqrLJc/v-deo.html.
and my optimization guide: ua-cam.com/video/rP0UEDLKwf8/v-deo.html
I'm planning to create some updated guides as well.
+1 went the whole amd build
I root for your succes bro. your speech made me sub.
thank you so much, you're a legend! 🙏
thanks so much for doing the LEG WORK! awesome data!
my pleasure, glad you enjoy it!
some of the most solid and informative videos ive watched man! cheers
thank you so much, glad to hear it was informative! much love
0:54 wtf is this random ass non ram gpu related slide 😭😭😭 great work on the research brother!! Really informative!
thanks! it was a clip from my old RAM testing video: ua-cam.com/video/N5HQcCihtrU/v-deo.html
Yeah man your channel deserve more subs 100%
thanks very much for saying that, means a lot 🙏
Very interesting vid, good job
thank you! 🙏
thans bro u helped me alot i will defenitly upgrade on 32gbs
awesome, you're welcome!
Definitely going for the 32GB, good video as always !
thank you! 🙏
Great video !!. Im currently on a 3600 and was looking at upgrading to 5700x3d but wasnt sure is I needed to upgrade to 32gb from 16... playing in 1440p with a 3080 10GB..
Think you have answered my question :)
awesome, glad it was useful!
Nice learning alot
awesome thanks for checking it out! 🙏
Great Video - Keep on the good work!
thank you! 🙏
If your playing streets you definitely need 64g ... i hot 6800xt and 5800x3d and it use 28g just in streets alone not counting windows and stuff ... 1440p
What is the difference between frequency timings and subtimings of memories?
Frequency is HOW FAST the memory is. The primary timings are HOW QUICKLY IT CAN RESPOND to requests from the CPU. Subtimings are for fine tuning the operations within the memory.
I am sitting on 32GB now and was really thinking of upgrading to 64GB... Any thoughts as to why it performed worse? I do know that CPUs, depending on the silicon, have "weaker" IMCs resulting in an uplift when running 2 sticks vs. 4.
I would have thought that running in single channel, the one 16GB stick in your test would have had a bigger performance handicap.
maybe 2 vs 4 DIMM latency penalty. need to more 1 vs 2 vs 4 DIMM testing to be sure
@@pyurologie that's my theory as well. It really bothers me because I think a system looks better with every bank filled.
I’m looking to build a pc for tarkov alone, what would be best in slot for ram, cpu, gpu?
1440 meta tarkov PC build: ua-cam.com/video/gCoED5bOuZU/v-deo.html
pretty much all you need to max out tarkov 1440. 7800X3D, at least 32GB DDR5, 4090 is best in slot, but any of the GPUs around $500 will max out 1440 and do great in 4K with upscaling
Hello bro, first of all thank you for your video !
I have a question please, I got the same monitor and capture card as you, but I have issues with my recordings. I mean, mine are always laggy with tearing and bad framerate, could you please share your settings ?
hi, thank you for saying that!
yeah sure i'll do a recording settings video. noted
What program do you use to see CPU temp and stuff?
i configured a custom RTSS overlay
32 GB seems like the sweet spot. 64 GB gives diminishing returns.
Thanks for the video!
seems like there's not much advantage at this point to go above 32 unless going 4K native with high settings
Is going from 32GB to 64GB worth on Intel platform? I have a 14900k on 1440p. I average 70-90 fps on streets
i haven't done testing yet but actually just loaded up my intel configs again. capacity likely won't make a difference compared to timings/subtimings. I'm gonna do some intel testing shortly
Wow, didnt know they launched a new AM4 cpu.
8 year old platform still producing killer CPUs
I currently have a Ryzen 9 5900X, 32 gb ram, DDR4 3600, and a 2080. I get decent performance but would like to get more. In my situation would a change in CPU or GPU yield the best outcome? Game is on an m.2 samsung evo in case that info is needed. Thanks ahead if you decide to take the time to help me out!
2080 can still do very well in tarkov up to 1440 with decent settings. You could get a great boost just by dropping in a 5700X3D.
Here's my 5950X vs 5800X3D faceoff episode: ua-cam.com/video/f3Ugn09pTWA/v-deo.html The 5700X3D basically matches 5800X3D in Tarkov. That would be a cheap easy upgrade with a good boost for you.
Depending on your budget/preferences, a 7800X3D will perform about 20-30% better than the 5700X3D/5800X3D for a little more cost. So, I'd either drop in a 5700X3D for an easy relatively cheap upgrade or if budget allows, 7800X3D is top performer right now
5700X3D vs 7800X3D: ua-cam.com/video/K0EogHmmXSM/v-deo.html
@@pyurologie thank you so much for the response. I currently just play in 1080 but I would love to get up to 1440. I’ll check out the video and go from there. Thanks again!
np thanks for checking out my stuff!
i have 16gb and a ryzen 7 4750g pro, no gpu. should i buy 32gb for tarkov? my streets gamaplay is on 20fps aprox
it might help a little. haven't used a 4750G before but i would think that would be better spent towards a CPU upgrade on that setup.
Better off getting new headset. I switched headphones to these $80 headphones from my astero a40s and it's night and day difference. I can hear like 30 m farther
Video Ryzen 7800X3D 1060 6GB
Could you run this test again but only in dual config?
yeah, see pinned comment
@@pyurologie my bad keep them coming 👍
@@paulrex9912 no, no problem. it's a good point and I'm interested to see the differences too.
Im getting the RX 7900 GRE do you think the Ryzen 7 5800x3D is a good pair for it? Im still on an AM4 system thinking of upgrading.
it looks like a noteworthy entry, though I don't know if it would give any more performance than a 7800XT in Tarkov. 7800XT will already max out in 1440. But, if you play other stuff it has plenty of power for today's games in 1440 high res and will still be good if you decide to upgrade CPU later on.
So, it looks pretty good to me. I'd still probably opt for a cheaper 7800XT if only building for Tarkov, but nothing against going big in a build either.
can you run some tests on SQUAD?
yeah sure, I love your handle hahah
@@pyurologie haha ya, i have a 3070ti, 7800x3d, and 32 gb ram, can get over 200 fps on squad but still stutter sometimes and it doesnt matter where i cap my fps or lower my settings there is always a stutter every few minutes especially during explosions, just curious if its just me or squad is just busted like that. really appreciate you doing some tests on it!!
why does my game stutter even thou i have 16 gb ram ? please help!
what are your hardware specs? most maps 16GB is ok, streets you prob need at least 32
I hope you are still up. Do you think an i5-10400f with GT1030 plus 16gb (8x2) is enough to play in 720p/768p?
here's my 9400F with a 6600XT: ua-cam.com/video/O2XcV-yyGlw/v-deo.html. The 10400F with 16GB is good enough to get good framerates in tarkov. Your limiting factor will be the GT1030, I've never tested one myself, but here are some of my iGPU tarkov tests which I think should fall in a similar range: ua-cam.com/play/PLYaeRxhLbnoE9-mNPhAUI3eYiVu0IWI34.html.
@@pyurologie many thanks, i shall get another 8gigs
So dual are slower than quad?
i think 2 DIMM is ideal, 32 seemed to perform the best when RAM usage isn't maxed out
Hello I curently have a ryzen5 3600 rx6500 xt 24gb of ram I don t have a big budget for upgrade what should I do?
X3D is best upgrade for you: ua-cam.com/video/RTePAQmGfCA/v-deo.html. 5600X3D is best deal, but limited availability. 5700X3D is widely available
Do you reccomend undervolting x3D cpus?
yes, it usually nets positive results over stock
5000X3D undervolt: ua-cam.com/video/N5HQcCihtrU/v-deo.html
7000X3D undervolt: ua-cam.com/video/-D2gPn95jS8/v-deo.html
Good content
thank you so much! 🙏
Good job.
thank you!
Very good.
thanks very much! 🙏
It feels wrong to take out ram just for tarkov lol
How about 4K?
would assume similar gaps, but didn't test in 4k
Really can i play on 12100f and 16gb ram?
i never tested a 12100f, don't know how it will perform tbh
