Personally, I wish Fires of Pompeii were on the list. It has Donna sharing the Doctor's burden, as they kill the entire town together. The supporting cast is incredible, and deserve to be mentioned. Good Scottish support, Wonder where they are now ;) Also 'Midnight', for the intensity, and courage of not having the Doctor saving them. The midnight darkness of 'Turn Left', with death camps, and scared future Britain. The incredible Donna, and Wilfred, gives me chills in the same way as Empty Child.
The 'Empty Child' creeped me out to, one of the better stories and arguably one of the happier endings. 'Dalek' was great for the reasons you mentioned, pity Christopher didn't stay on; I only wish they gave Capaldi the scripts/stories he deserves as an actor and the Doctor.
Moffat was always a one story a year writer, not a showrunner type. Especially later on when he had to do Sherlock as well, he just went downhill in quality.
Season 10 finale good? Before the lesbian pool reappeared, yeah, I'd agree. But that created a MASSIVE deus ex machine that ruined the experience for me personally. They could have cut that section out, and the series would probably have been better in my opinion. The moment you undo a sacrifice, it takes away all meaning of that sacrifice.
I've done my favourite for each series as I can't choose out of all Series 1= Empty Child/Doctor Dances Series 2= Rise of Cybermen/Age of Steel Series 3= Utopia/Sound of drums/last of timelords Series 4= Silence of Library/Forest of Dead Series 5= Vincent and the Doctor Series 6= The Impossible Astronaught/Day of the Moon Series 7A= Angels take Manhattan Series 7B= Day of the Doctor: Series 8= Flatline Series 9= Heaven Sent Series 10= World Enough and time/Doctor Falls
I agree with everything apart from series 1, 3, 6 Series 1 would be dalek, series 3 would be the family of blood two parter and series 6 would be the girl who waited
Dave out of each modern series. Series 1 - Dalek Series 2 - Rise of Cybermen/Age of Steel Series 3 - Human Nature/Family of Blood Series 4 - Midnight Series 4b - Fires of Pompeii Specials - Waters of Mars, then The Next Doctor Series 5 - Didn't like this series so I'll just say Time of Angels/Flesh and Stone Series 6 - Didn't like any of this series Series 7 - Cold War - brought back Ice Warriors Series 8 - Into The Dalek Series 8b - Flatline Series 9 - Under The Lake /Before The Flood Series 10 - Oxygen. World enough and Time would be higher if it weren't connected to The Doctor Falls
Great top 10. All these episodes I hold in high regard. Here is my top 10 10. Boom Town (So underrated, I can't believe this episode explores the psyche of a farting Alien but it was amazing to watch. The Doctor dining with one of his enemies is a stroke of genius.) 9. Rose (A brilliant re-introduction to the show which proved that Doctor Who can appeal to both old and new audiences. Using the Autons as the first villain was a very good call and I like how their invasion plan was a backdrop to the introduction to the Doctor and Rose. I also love the set up of the companion living such a mundane hum drum life.) 8. Bad Wolf/Parting of the Ways (The best finale of the new series by far. The Game Station is a brilliant macabre concept. Discovering the Daleks were behind it all was a great twist along with the regeneration. It took me by surprise back then because I didn't follow the show religiously like I do now. This episode changed all of that.) 7. A Christmas Carol (Xmas specials are very hit and miss for me. With this one i loved the Sci-Fi retelling of the Dickens classic. It was imaginative, weird and the characters were a lot more established and had a much better arc than the shitty Narnia special.) 6. The Christmas Invasion (This episode shouldn't work but it really does. This episode taught me to embrace change a great message to my 12 year old self. The episode still contains dark subject matter despite being festive. David Tennant spends most of his time having a nap in this episode but when the Doctor recovers he really impresses.) 5. The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit (This 2 parter is so eery and dark it's hard to believe it's followed by the 2 worst episodes in who history. I love how this episode reinvigorates the base under siege formula by putting the fucking devil in it) 4. The Waters of Mars (Another dark and eery base under siege story which also challenges the Doctors beliefs similar to how Satan Pit did. I so totally agree that this should've been Tennant's regeneration story his meddling with time should've been his downfall. I also love the idea of how this episode could potentially happen in my life time.) 3. The Eleventh Hour (Before this episode aired I was done with Doctor Who. I thought I was too old for the show and felt Matt Smith's Doctor looked too childish. I was very wrong and actually found myself relating to his quirky and awkward nature and became engrossed in the story ark. (Unlike recently grr) I love post regenration stories its when The Doctor is most vunerable and he has to prove himself to the audience and his companion that HE IS THE DOCTOR! This one to me is the best of the lot because of how much was riding against it. It's very much New Who's Spearhead from Space. 2. The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances (The nighttime setting of this story piles on the atmosphere to this bleak story. I also love the delicate balance of humour and horror something which Moffat used to excel at. (Fuck Missy grr) Who can forget the brilliant resolution to that cliffhanger?) 1. Blink (It’s astonishing how amazing this episode is by having a small appearance from the titular character. This episode takes a very different approach to typical Doctor Who episodes forming something truly unique by following 2 new characters having to face the terrifying weeping angels and figure out The Doctor’s seemingly random message on 17 DVD’s. Out of all the wibbly wobbly timey wimey stories this one is by far the best and is the clearest to follow. I would love to see Sally Sparrow return for a future episode but that seems unlikely. A must watch for just anyone fan or otherwise, this may sound like a slight exaggeration but I think Blink is one of best pieces of television I have ever seen!
My personal list :) 1. The Empty Child 2. Heaven Sent 3. The Sound of Drums 4. Extremis 5. Dalek 6. The Impossible Planet 7. Blink 8. Smile 9. Flatline 10. World Enough and Time The Day of the Doctor was the one that just missed out on making the list.
1. World enough and time/The Doctor falls 2. Vincent and the Doctor 3.School Reunion 4.Knock knock 5.Farthers day 6.Zygon invasion/Zygon inversion 7.The lodger 8.The caretaker 9.Girl in the fireplace 10.the stolen Earth/Journey's end

1. Heaven Sent 2. Under the Lake/Before the Flood 3. Time of the Angels/Flesh and Stone 4. Listen 5. The Waters of Mars 6. Day of the Doctor 7. Dalek 8. Amy's Choice 9. The Pilot 10. Blink (I couldnt work out how to feature these in my list but here are what I would consider my honourable mentions: 3. Oxygen 2. Extremis 1. World Enough and Time/ The Doctor Falls Peter Capaldi is brilliant by the way!
Oh don't even get me started on The Empty Child, after seeing it for the first time I could not watch it again until earlier this year and had nightmares about the Gas Mask Zombies. Anyone who says Blink is the best horror/thriller episode of the new series will always get told to watch The Empty Child. I'm glad that I am not the only person who finds River annoying aswell.
Here's my list 1. Bad Wolf/The Parting of Ways 2. Empty Child/Doctor Dances 3. The Angels Takes Manhatten. 4. Turn Left. 5. Heaven Sent 6. The Eleventh Hour 7. Knock Knock 8. Father's Day 9. The Day of The Doctor. 10. Last Christmas I want to make a special mention to Smile. They had robots called Vardies. The Vardy are named after Andrew Vardy, a professor of swarm robotics at Memorial University of Newfoundland. Vardy once worked on a short story with Boyce based on his robotics research
I really liked the episode smile, I remember seeing the next time trailer and thinking the episode was going to be terrible, but I was surprised. Great story. And I'm so happy to see someone else like the manhattan angel story, I much prefer it the time of the angels and blink.
10: Father's Day 9: Midnight 8: Dalek 7: Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead 6: World Enough and Time/The Doctor Falls 5: Human Nature/The Family of Blood 4: Utopia/The Sound of Drums/Last of the Time Lords 3: The Waters of Mars 2: Bad Wolf/Parting of the Ways 1: Heaven Sent Honorable Mentions: The Eleventh Hour, The Stolen Earth/Journey's End, The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit, The Rings of Akhaten, Oxygen, Thin Ice, Turn Left, and The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances.
Anyone else notice that the Daleks haven't really straight-up shot a human onscreen since "Victory of the Daleks"? When your most iconic villain mostly just sits about squawking "obligatory catchphrase!", then you know you've fucked up.
I think Moffat loves the idea of monster redemption. So far given us a 'cuddly' Sontaran, one and a half sympathetic Daleks Oswin & Rusty (tho the former reverts) and a sweet Cyberhead, Handles. Plus the new era Zygons are now our friends apart from a terrorist faction. Plus Madam Vastra the hero lesbian Silurian!
I was 5 years old when I watched "The Empty Child" and it literally haunted me for years to come. Even when I rewatch it now I have to have the lights on. It's my one fear that will always be with me. Good on Moffat for that one.
Even though I think that the classic series is infinitely better than the new series, there are still plenty of masterpieces: 10. Vincent and the Doctor 9. Oxygen 8. The Impossible Astronaut/Day of the Moon 7. The Eleventh Hour 6. Blink 5. World Enough and Time/The Doctor Falls 4. The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit 3. Bad Wolf/Parting of the Ways 2. Waters of Mars 1. Heaven Sent
I agree with this a lot but I didn't really like Doctor Falls (mainly because of the moments between The Doctor blowing up the place and Bill leaving plus the fact that Master (Simm) was underused). Also would include Midnight on that list.
10. Heaven Sent 9. The End of Time (come at me bro 😉) 8. Father’s Day 7. Bad Wolf/The Parting of the Ways 6. Dalek 5. Midnight 4. Turn Left 3. The Waters of Mars 2. Blink 1. Day of the Doctor
When I heard the Curator's voice, my eyes got misty, tearing up a bit. Tom Baker is THE Doctor. I love Tennant, and Pertwee was my first Doctor, but Tom Baker was the best Doctor, the classic Doctor, and him returning in that scene was one of my favourite moments in all 50+ years of the show. Silence in the library is great, and it had River Song before Moffat wrecked her character, when we still imagined how great she was going to be...but then of course she wasn't once we really knew her story.
I keep debating my own top 10 best New Who list, so here are what I consider to be My favorite/least horrible story's for each series instead: series 1: Bad wolf/The parting of the ways series 2: The impossible/The Satan pit series 3: Gridlock & 42 series 4: Planet of the Ood series 5: Amy's choice series 6: The Doctor's wife series 7: Dinosaurs on a spaceship series 8: Robot of Sherwood series 9: Under the lake/Before the flood series 10: Don't know yet the specials: The waters of Mars
Really? Robot of Sherwood? I'd put Listen or Time Heist over that. And Dinosaurs on a Spaceship was also a weird choice. I can't say it's bad, but I can say it's not very memorable because I can't remember a single thing from that episode other than there were two stupid robots in it and the effects were pretty decent. Other than that I agree for the most part. Oh and for series 10, it has to be Oxygen. I love Alien, and that episode gave me so many Alien flashbacks. Plus the cliffhanger at the end was incredible, and I didn't see it coming at all.
Casual CraftMan my opinion S1) Empty child/doctor dances S2) Girl in the fireplace S3) Blink S4) Turn left/the stolen earth/Journeys End S5) The Lodger S6) A Good Man Goes To War S7) Dinosaurs on a Spaceship (my personal favourite of the whole of NewWho) S8) Dark Water/Death in Haven S9) under the lake/Before The Flood S10) World enough and time/ the doctor falls (THE ONLY DECENT EPISODE IN THIS FUCKING SHITE SERIES)
My top ten: 10. Dalek: I enjoy the finale two-parter, but this story is perfect for Eccleston and his best work on the show. He is wonderful. 9.The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang: The Eleventh Doctor is my favorite Doctor and Amy-and to an extent Rory- are my favorite companions on the show. This two-parter just works. Brilliant, exciting, and with the Stonehenge speech and the fez to cap it all off. 8. The Fires of Pompei: Several things: 1. Peter Capaldi. 2. Donna. 3. Everything else. 7.The Girl in the Fireplace: This episode is brilliant. One of my ongoing gripes with NewWho is the tendency of love relationships between the Doctor and his companion: It's why the Ponds, Donna, and Bill are my favorite companions. This is how Doctor love should be done. Oh, Moffat... My only issue is Rose, because she's awful and I hate her in in Series 2. 6.Utopia: Oh boy. While I don't hate the following two parts as much as most, they failed this incredible episode. Jack Harkness? Check. Derek Jacobi's Master? Check. Martha not sucking? Eh, ok, that's a stretch. 5.The Eleventh Hour: A superb intro into my favorite Doctor and Companion. Almost everything about this episode just works. It establishes this new, youthful Doctor as a real threat to his enemies. 4. The Doctor's Wife: This episode is one of the best pieces of character development for the Doctor. Iris as the TARDIS is really fun, the ponds are great, and it's a wonderful episode overall. Thank you, Neil Gaiman. 3. World Enough and Time/The Doctor Falls: HOLY CRAP, THESE EPISODES ARE GREAT! This two-parter perfectly encapsulates Capaldi's Doctor as a kind, caring, gruff old man. It portrays Missy perfectly, it does Simm's Master right finally, and OH MY GOD THAT SPEECH! The only flaw was that "Bill is now a pilot creature thing yaaaay" ending. Otherwise, a nearly perfect set of episodes capping of (in my opinion) Capaldi's best series. 2. Blink: Sometimes I randomly recite the Doctor's speech to my friends in times of utter meaninglessness. This episode is Moffat at finest form. He makes this Doctor-lite episode really work. Fantastic performances by Carey Mulligan, and David Tennant. But it, for a while, was undisputably the best episode of Doctor Who. Until... 1. Heaven Sent: Whatever your feelings on "Face the Raven" or "Hell Bent" are, (I happen to enjoy them) "Heaven Sent" is a fantastic episode. Carried completely by Peter Capaldi, every moment of this episode is important. With it's completely original, and fantastic score, this episode just is great. It's great. There's nothing else I can say.
Thanks for including Time of the Angels/Flesh and Stone, that story is extremely underrated for some reason, I thought it was the best by far from Season 5. Though I definitely think Tennant should have a few more on here, Girl in the Fireplace, Utopia, Midnight and The End of Time were all amazing imo.
This is gonna be hard and would probably be different on another day but here I go: 10.Tooth and Claw 9.Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead 8.The Time of Angels/Flesh and Stone 7.The Day of the Doctor 6.Bad Wolf and the Parting of the Ways 5.Waters of Mars 4.Utopia/The Sound of Drums/Last of the Timelords 3.The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit 2.Blink 1.Human Nature/The Family of Blood I could give so many stories honourable mentions and I think 4-10 could be in any order with any of my honourable mentions being able to replace them but my 1-3 is definite and will probably never change, I can understand why you think Blink is overrated as I too get sick of hearing people saying that people should start watching DW there but I cannot find a single flaw with the episode it is one of the most famous episodes of TV history not just DW for a reason, but for me Human Nature and The Family of Blood manages to be perfect like Blink but twice as long with great performances from everyone with of course the exception of Daughter of Mine but I let that slide cause shes a child actor. As for The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit, its a brilliantly executed and claustrophobic base under siege story involving the devil what else is there to say about it.
@@EhmAmATANK I do like Capaldi but Moffat and co were well past their best by then and it looks like Chibnall wouldn't have been able to save him either with how the last two seasons played out. There were some great stories but they'd probably only manage to make HM for me.
I cant choose and my opinion have changed a lot in the last couple months, so here is my favourite from each series of new who: Series 1: Bad Wolf and The Parting Of The Ways Series 2: Rise Of The Cybermen and The Age Of Steel Series 3: Human Nature and The Family Of Blood Series 4: Midnight 2009 Specials: Waters Of Mars Series 5: The Time Of Angels and Flesh And Stone Series 6: The Rebel Flesh And The Almost People Series 7: The Bells Of Saint John Series 8: Flatline Series 9: Under The Lake And Before The Flood Series 10: World Enough And Time And The Doctor Falls I think my all time favourite is Rise Of The Cybermen And The Age Of Steel
My Top 10 Doctor Who Revived Series Episodes 1.) The Stolen Earth/Journey's End 2.) The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances 3.) The Waters of Mars 4.) A Good Man Goes to War 5.) Dark Water/Death in Heaven 6.) A Town Called Mercy 7.) World Enough and Time/The Doctor Falls 8.) Planet of the Ood 9.) Dalek 10.) Face the Raven/Heaven Sent
20. The Angels take Manhattan 19. The Doctor's Daughter 18. Vincent and the Doctor 17. Time of Angels/Flesh and Stone 16. Under the Lake/Before the Flood 15. The Waters of Mars 14. swap out extremis with the zygon inverson and you have a perfect list! Great choices (oh how I love that speech - one of the best of all time, and he did it in ONE take too!!)
10. Rose 9. Time Of Angels/Flesh and Stone 8. Fathers Day 7. Turn Left 6. Silence In The Library/ Forrest Of The Dead 5. Stolen Earth/ Journeys End 4. Heaven Sent 3. The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances 2. Dalek 1. Bad Wolf/ Parting of The Ways
1: Heaven Sent 2: The Pilot 3: Blink 4: Doomsday 1&2 5: World enough and time/ The Doctor Falls 6: The Pilot 7: The Eleventh Hour 8: Twice Upon A Time 9: The Water Of Mars 10: Smile Yes I Flipping Loved Season 10
You said how you liked Torchwood. Not many Who-UA-camrs (Whotubers?) have done top ten videos on the Torchwood episodes and I'd love to see your opinion on your favorite episodes. Also the Empty Child is also one of my favorites as well.
Wingy Media i agree with you on the episodes but my list is a little different (i cant list cause i dont know all the names) but the doomsday 2 parter is definitely on it, but I was wondering if you liked it and if not why? P.S. I would have been about late 4 or early 5 when the empty child was broadcast and it scared the shit out of me and i have loved the episode ever since lol 😁
Including S10, 10) Rose 9) Day of the Doctor 8) School Reunion 7) Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead 6) The Zygon Invasion/Inversion 5) The Pyramid at the Extremis/End of the World/The Lie of the Land 4) The Stolen Earth/Journey's End 3) The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances 2) Bad Wolf/The Parting of the Ways 1) World Enough and Time/The Doctor Falls
10. Dalek 9. A Christmas Carol 8. Human Nature / Family of Blood 7. Listen 6. The Day of The Doctor 5. Blink 4. Silence of The Library / Forest of The Dead 3. Vincent and The Doctor 2. The Waters of Mars 1. Heaven Sent
I love this video and I love this list. I am extremely happy that Rise of the Cybermen and Time of Angels are on here as they are great stories that do not get enough recognition. Under the Lake IS FANTASTIC! And I agree with Blink being overrated, it is so loved and I can't understand why. I basically agree with all of your list and the order of the list, except I would swap Silence in the Library with The Stolen Earth/Journey's End. And I would probably swap Dalek and Under the Lake around. However, Great video, absolutely loved it! :)
Here's my Top 10 10. Human Nature/The Family of Blood 9. The Vampires of Venice 8. Extremis (NOT including Episodes 7 and 8!!) 7. Time Heist 6. The Day of the Doctor 5. Aliens of London/World War Three 4. School Reunion 3. Turn Left/The Stolen Earth/The Parting of the Ways 2. The Unicorn and the Wasp 1. Bad Wolf/The Parting of the Ways
Extremis is my least favourite ever. I liked LOTL though. I'm surprised to see Time Heist, DOTD, School reunion and series 4 finale in there, as I really loved them, on contrary to Extremis
Great video, thank you. Our Opinion Left:His opinion. Right:Her Opinion. 10)The Empty Child-The Doctor Dances.|Oxygen. 9)The Runaway Bride.|Dalek. 8)A Good Man Goes to War.|Planet of the Ood. 7)World Enough and Time-The Doctor Falls.|Father's Day. 6)Smith and Jones.|Aliens of London-World War Three. 5)A Town Called Mercy.|The God Complex. 4)The Impossible Planet-The Satan Pit.|The Husbands of River Song. 3)Amy's Choice.|Bad Wolf-The Parting of the Ways. 2)The Girl Who Waited.|The Runaway Bride. 1)The Stolen Earth-The End of Time.|The Empty Child-The Doctor Dances.
Great vid. I've watched a lot of your videos and IMO you are one of the best Whovians on youtube. Your love for the show is genuine, but not to the point where you can't stand any criticism of the show. Glad to see more appreciation of the first Matt Smith Weeping Angels and the first David Tennant Cyberman story.
Well, you did ask... although I'm a lot older than most Doctor Who fans, (I was a Trekkie before the word was coined) my first Doctor was Peter Eccleston. I've made up for lost time by amassing a complete collection of both classic and new episodes. To me, the best single episode of Doctor Who is Heaven Sent, where script, acting, story arc and direction come together to create the one, perfect episode. Congratulations to all involved. Just as an aside, my favorite classic serial is "City of Death". Maybe it's just me... I'm an Anglophile, a Francophile and a sci-fi buff. Thanks for your thought-provoking commentaries.
My 13 Best (In no particular order) Oxygen The End of Time Human Nature/The Family of Blood The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit World Enough and Time/The Doctor Falls Utopia/The Sound of Drums/Last of The Timelords Rise of The Cybermen/The Age of Steel Extremis/The Pyramid at The End of The World/The Lie of The Land The Waters of Mars Stolen Earth/Journey's End Army of Ghosts/Doomsday Knock Knock Bad Wolf/The Parting of Ways
10. Journey to the Centre of the Tardis 9. A Good Man Goes to War 8. Rise of the Cybermen/The Age of Steel 7. The Eleventh Hour 6. Twice Upon a Time 5 . Water of Mars 4. Oxygen 3. Heaven Sent 2. Mummy on the Orient Express 1. Human Nature/Family of Blood
I loved 'Dalek', and genuinely at the time thought it was how they were capping them off as a monster. The rumours at the time (perhaps PR), spoke of trouble with the Terry Nation estate, so this could genuinely have been their last hurrah. I felt genuinely disappointed/cheated, when they returned for the season finale. That being said, I do like that the new series have tried different things with the Daleks (with mixed success). Rather than another Dalek invasion, base under siege, etc. Where they once more are roundly defeated by the Doctor. I wish, they'd completely vanish for 2 or 3 whole seasons. Then if they returned it wouldn't feel like South Park and Kenny. Companion: "Oh God, You killed Kenny." Doctor: "Yes, I'm a Bastard."
Finally someone that loves under the lake/before the flood. Imo I would also put it in my new series top 10. Ngl though I did find the fisher king quite shoddy for new series standards, but that never really bothered me hehe. I 100% agree with 10 and Donna, favourite tardis team since the 70's.
My personal top 10 list of new series episodes 1. Heaven Sent 2. The Fires of Pompeii 3. Day of the Doctor 4. Rings of Akhaten (fite me) 5. Time of the Doctor 6. Parting of Ways 7. Blink 8. The Empty Child 9. Rose 10. The Eleventh Hour Plz don't hurt me. I just really like long-winded speeches, victories of the doctor and just really clever writing. I know rings of Akhaten is a bit confusing in terms of plot but just the build up to the day of the doctor was just magnificent.
Love that with Day of the Doctor. All criticism can be sent in and deflected with the phase 'Yeah, but it's John Hurt!' I don't know how he did it; but he crafted a fully fledged and believably war weary Doctor in one episode! Just one for the introduction, the build up, and the pay off, that's just a credit to how good he was as an actor. Rest in peace Mr. Hurt.
Yes this is what happens when you have a fully quailified and trained actor, Smith and Tennant may be young and cute, but what else have they been in? I've seen them in one or two other things, hurt's been acting at least since the early 70's. Sleep easy Sir John, you've earned it!
My favourites : 1. Pandorica opens 2. Blink (overrated I know) 3. The time of angels 4. Deep breath 5. A Christmas carol 6. School reunion 7. Day of the doctor 8. The lodger 9. The impossible astronaut 10. The eleventh hour
My top 10 are: 10. Utopia 9. Turn Left 8. Journey’s End 7. Dalek 6. Heaven Sent 5. Day of the Doctor 4. The Eleventh Hour 3. The Beast Below 2. The Fires of Pompeii 1. Waters of Mars ...and for me 1 & 2 are together...I can’t separate them. And I LOVE Catherine Tate’s performance in Fires of Pompeii. That episode and especially the ending always had me in pieces...😢 My other top one is “Night of the Doctor”. This is a masterpiece, and a storming performance from all concerned, especially Paul McGann. The more I see him and hear his Big Finish performances, he’s rapidly becoming my favourite Doctor...😃
Here’s mine: 10. Amy’s choice 9. Empty child/ Doctor dances 8. Bad wolf/parting of the ways 7. Blink 6. Time of angels/flesh and stone 5. Impossible astronaut/day of the moon 4. Human nature/family of blood 3. Mummy on the orient express 2. Heaven sent 1. Midnight
Amazing job, almost all episodes on the list are my favourites too (except 1 or 2 maybe). My own personal top 3 is 1. Waters of Mars (I don't know why but I loved that episode since the first time i saw it, I could spend hours talking about it), 2. Heaven Sent 3.The Impossible Planet/Satan Pit so my questions for you are: since you didn't put the impossible planet/satan pit in the list, what do you think about these two episodes? and have you got any honourable mention for some episodes that you enjoyed but didn't get on the top 10? let me know p.s. I'm not English so I don't know if i made some grammar mistakes writing all this stuff... well in that case nevermind, keep doing more videos, they're great!
knightofcydonia. the impossible planet is great, I do love it! if I did honourable mentions then it'd definitely be one. Also, your English was fine so don't worry about that ☺
My top ten include: 10: Dalek 9: Time of Angles/Flesh and Stone 8: The Christmas Invasion 7: The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit 6: The Girl in the Fireplace 5: Midnight 4: Fathers Day 3: Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead 2: Empty Child/The Doctor Dances 1: Rise of the Cybermen/Age of Steel
Hey Wingy, what do u think to doing a top ten moments series, for both the classic and new seasons. It would be cool seeing top ten worse cringe moments too, that would be funny! Love the Chanel man!
Best 10.bad wolf & parting of the ways 9.uptia, the sound of the drums and whatever it is 8.blink 7.the empty child & the doctor dances 6.aliens of London & and world war three 5.love and monsters (not the monster) 4.night terrors 3 . Amy's choice 2.dalek Honourable mentions: The power of three Deep breath Thin ice Vincent and the doctor The eleventh hour 1.heaven sent (you all know why)
yeah, Katherine Tate is one of the best companions - the perfect foil to the Doctor and a wondeful conduit for the audience to observe him through her eyes i still really liked the impossible girl though
Geez, so many episodes on this list are ones I've only watched once or twice. If I didn't live with my Mum, I would have much more time to watch some of the more highly rated episodes. Anyway, here are 10 I really like, mostly because I've watched these plenty of times. The Empty Child Planet of the Dead The End of Time The Eleventh Hour Victory of the Daleks Vincent & The Doctor The Big Bang The Angels Take Manhattan The Day of The Doctor Flatline
10-Fathers Day 9-School Reunion 8-The Runaway Bride 7-Smith and Jones 6-Human Nature/Family of Blood 5-The Lazarus Experiment 4-Waters of Mars 3-The Eleventh Hour 2-Day of the Doctor 1-Heaven Sent
Interesting list, again many we disagree on and many we disagree on the placement on, but I can see why you made these choices. My list looks more like this 10 School Reunion (Sarah Jane is back, so's K9, Mickey joins up, Tony Head is in it, nuff said) 9 Human Nature/Family of Blood (Of course I love this it's based on a 7th Doctor story, joking aside it is a wonderful character piece) 8 11th Hour (Moffatt had to knock it out of the park with this one and he really did, it really established the new Doctor perfectly) 7 Blink (Is it overrated? Yes, very much, but it is still a great watch and the only time on TV I cared about the weeping angels) 6 Parting of the Ways (Not perfect by any stretch, but a really good ending for a muchly underrated Doctor) 5 Girl In The Fireplace (Great performance by the guest cast and a great monster) 4 Heaven Sent (Perhaps the artistic height of the show and a diamond in a mountain of rocks that was later Moffatt stories) 3 Dalek (It gave so much threat to a Dalek, something we haven't seen done successfully since) 2 Empty Child/The Doctor Dances (The first truly great episode of nu who, everything came together for this one) 1 Vincent and the Doctor (I'm sorry but this is my favourite of both nu who and classic, it is such a touching portrayal of what he went through)
Midnight is just such a great episode for me. The alien was so interesting and it was intense the way it made then turn on eachother. The episode humanized all the people at the start only to make you hate them with a passion later. But if you look back, almost all of the characters traits are hinted at at the beginning. And the silence broken by "what was her name"
I actually love the end of time. I love the 10th doctors character. I love the master in here. I love the time lords and rassalon. I love everything. I don't understand what you're talking about when you say it's bad.
I can't really decide my favourites. So instead I'll do my favourites from each series. Series 1: The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances Series 2: School Reunion or The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit (Undecided) Series 3: Human Nature/The Family Of Blood Series 4 Part 1: Silence In The Library/Forest Of The Dead Series 4 Part 2: The Waters Of Mars Series 5: The Eleventh Hour or The Lodger (Undecided) Series 6: A Good Man Goes To War Series 7 Part 1: The Snowmen Series 7 Part 2: The Day Of The Doctor Series 8: The Caretaker, Mummy On The Orient Express or Flatline (Undecided for all) Series 9: Heaven Sent Series 10: World Enough And Time/The Doctor Falls
My top 12 in no particular order.... 1: Dalek 2: The Empty Child and The Doctor Dances 3: Bad Wolf and Parting Of The Ways 4: The Impossible Planet and the Satan Pit 5: Human Nature and The Family Of Blood 6: Listen 7: Mummy On The Orient Express 8: Last Christmas 9: The Magician's Apprentice and the Witches Familiar 10: Under The Lake and Before The Flood 11: The Raven Trilogy (I love Hell Bent. You can't change my mind.) 12: World Enough And Time and The Doctor Falls Btw, what you said about the TARDIS mind palace kind of thing in Heaven Sent being too much like Sherlock, fun fact, the Doctor's character was originally partially inspired by Holmes. Just sayin'.
My favourite NuWho episodes (No particular order): 1) Empty Child/The Doctor Dances 2) The Doctor's Wife 3) Mummy on the Orient Express 4) Waters of Mars 5) World Enough and Time/The Doctor Falls 6) The Pandorica Opens (screw "The Big Bang") 7) Oxygen 8) Pyramid At The End of the World (screw "Lie of the Land") 9) Midnight 10) Bad Wolf/Parting of the Ways 11) Day of the Doctor (just because of John Hurt's War Doctor's scenes) 12) Turn Left/Stolen Earth (screw "Journeys End") 13) Dalek 14) Heaven's Sent (screw "Hell Bent") 15) Rise of the Cybermen/Age of Steel 16) Utopia/Sound of Drums/Last of the Timelords 17) Fires of Pompeii 18) Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead 19) Eleventh Hour 20) Vincent And The Doctor As I said, this is in no order apart from "order which I remembered them" and there I did 20 of them because... meh, why not? I just don't think others come that much closer to these so why remove half of them?
I can't actually rank these 10 stories, but they are my personal picks for new series Who (along with my personal favourite), up to and including The Doctor Falls - Planet of the Ood - Dalek - Under the Lake/Before the Flood - Mummy on the Orient Express - Midnight - Heaven Sent - Vincent and the Doctor - Waters of Mars - The Girl Who Waited Favourite (probably a bit too soon to fully judge, but oh well) - World Enough and Time/The Doctor Falls Honourable Mentions: Girl in the Fireplace; Time Heist; Fathers' Day; School Reunion; Oxygen; Knock Knock; Cold War and The Eleventh Hour
I just re-watched "Human Nature" and "Family of Blood," a story I had almost completely forgotten about. Truly impressive work, in and out, top to bottom. Lot's of conceptual things for the thoughtful Who watcher, important character points for Martha and the Doctor, the scarecrow men were genuinely creepy, the invisible spaceship was good CGI (where there's a lot of bad - or should I say, "outdated" - CGI in the early new Who series (sometimes less *IS* more in such cases))... just a really good story told really well. I mostly disagree with you on "Blink" though. I do agree that it's a bad choice for introducing someone to "what Doctor Who is like, what it's all about," because it's an atypical story, and it's not really about the Doctor, it's about Sally Sparrow. But it's one of the few stories that takes very seriously the time travel aspects of DW. Usually the Tardis is just a door to another world. When you get there, time works the same way it always does. Solve the problem, defeat the monster, then go somewhere else. Much more than a typical story, Blink is _a time travel_ story. Also, Blink does something very cool that I don't know of in any other time travel sci-fi. It turns the "grandfather paradox" on its head. If you travel back in time you can't change things or you change the future from whence you came. (i.e.,... what if you accidentally kill your own grandfather?) "Time cannot be re-written, Not One Line!," The first Doctor warns Barbara in The Aztecs. Blink realizes that once you posit that time travel exists, it's equally likely that if you go back in time _you have to change the past_ to reach the future you came from because it was already changed. It's clever; and in a very deep and thoughtful way...
You've got a pretty interesting list here, and I agree, Blink is thoroughly overrated. If I had to choose a few desert island discs of new who, I'd probably go for these: -Impossible Planet/Satan Pit (good old voice of Sutekh in there) -Asylum of the Daleks (I know it isn't that popular, but I feel the daleks were finally creepy in this story and I love the atmosphere + I can try and go back to a time when "That Companion" actually had a worthy story arc before it got ruined in the finale) -Utopia/Sound of Drums/Last of the Time Lords -Empty Child/Doctor Dances -Vincent and the Doctor -The Impossible Astronaut/Day of the Moon (possibly my no.1 story) -Heaven Sent* -Under the Lake/Before the Flood* (though if this season 10 finale is as good as it has SO much potential to be I'd probably replace it) *i think there's a general consensus that these are Capaldi's best episodes. -Human Nature/The Family of Blood -The Hungry Earth/Cold Blood (ignoring the AWFUL redesign of the silurians, it's a great moral/base under siege story in my opinion - again, I know it's not a popular choice)
10. Badwolf 9.The rings of Akhaten 8.The stolen earth / Journey's end 7. Time Heist 6. Human nature / The family of blood 5.Amy's Choice 4. The day of the Doctor 3. Silence in the library / Forest of the dead 2. The Army of ghosts / Doomsday 1. Turn left
Under the Lake and Before the Flood are my favourites from Series 9, a series that was overall really uneven. Hell Bent was so bad that my mum and I just... gave up.
Mine is in no particular order (Ik there’s 11 but I like them all basically equally) 11.Day of the Doctor 10.Moonlight 9.Silence in the library/Forrest of the dead 8.eleventh hour/beast below (cant chose between them Beast below is so underrated) 7.the girl who waited 6.waters of mars 5.Journeys end 4.Heaven sent 3.Dalek 2.Blink 1.Vincent and the doctor
my top 10 (not necessarily in any order) 1.heaven sent 2.dalek 3.day of the doctor 4.flatline 5.human nature/family of blood 6.the eleventh hour 7.oxygen 8.the fires of pompeii 9.badwolf/parting of the ways 10.listen (honerable mention to School Reunion)
There are many stories on this list of yours that I personally would definitely not put on there, BUT no top ten list would be complete without the Waters of Mars. I completely agree that it should have been Tennant's final story. Imagine if Adelaide had shot the doctor, causing him to regenerate and regret what he's become, and then shot herself. You could sitll have had a little of the revisiting of old companions (though not as exessive please), but it would have been one of the darkest, and definitely one of the most memorable regeneration stories ever (and Who stories in general!) And NOW I'm angry that the End of Time even exists. Goddammit Russel. What a missed opportunity!
Disagree the best episode in my opinion is the name of the doctor. The doctor is 2,000 odd years old and he finally visits his grave with so much mystery around the grave. This man who has apposed violence all his life he finally sees he falls within battle on the grounds of Treansalow. We see the remains of a dying Tardis we get the mystery of another doctor. This episode leads perfectly into the Christmas special. With all the rhymes and the mystery this is an absolute amazing episode
My top stories would be: 10: impossible astronaut/day of the moon 9: blink 8: dalek 7 the eleventh hour 6: silence in the library/ forest of the dead 5: flesh and stone/ time of angels 4: Amy’s Choice 3: Heaven Sent 2: Human nature/ family of blood 1: Midnight
my top 10 new who episodes 10. blink 9. the time of the doctor 8. the end of time part 1 7. the girl in the fireplace 6. gridlock 5. heaven sent 4. a good man goes to war 3. the day of the doctor 2. the doctor falls 1. the waters of Mars
Top episodes judged by series Series 1: The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances Series 2: Rise of the Cybermen/The Age of Steel Series 3: Smith and Jones Series 4: The End of Time Part 1/The End of Time Part 2 Series 5: Vincent and the Doctor Series 6: The Curse of the Black Spot Series 7: The Day of the Doctor Series 8: Dark Water/Death in Heaven Series 9: Heaven Sent/Hell Bent Series 10: Smile Honourable mentions World War Three Father's Day New Earth The Idiots Lantern Gridlock The Lazarus Experiment Midnight Planet of the Dead The Waters of Mars Victory of the Daleks The Impossible Astronaut Day of the Moon The Angels Take Manhattan Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS The Name of the Doctor Listen Last Christmas The Pilot Pyramid at the end of the world
Probably wouldn't have the same list, but I can't argue that any of these stories were by any sense of the word 'bad'. they were, in my opinion, all great stories.
10. The Unicorn and The Wasp 9. Bad Wolf/ The Parting of the Ways 8. Flatline 7. Dark Water/ Death in Heaven 6. The Day of the Doctor 5. World Enough in Time/ The Doctor Falls 4. Blink 3. Silence in The Library/ The Forest of The Dead 2. Turn Left/ The Stolen Earth/ Journey's End 1. Heaven Sent
1) Blink 2) Father's day 3) Midnight 4) The Stolen Earth / Journey's End 5) World Enough and Time / The Doctor Falls 6) The impossible astronaut / Day of the moon 7) Army of Ghosts / Doomsday 8 ) The Angels Take Manhattan 9) The impossible planet / The Satan pit 10) The girl in the fireplace 11) Turn Left 12) Human Nature / The family of blood 13 ) Bad Wolf / The Parting Of The Ways 14 ) Under the Lake / Before the Flood 15) Rise of the Cybermen/ Age of steel 16) Day Of The Doctor 17) heaven sent 18) Vincent and the doctor 19) the empty child/ the doctor dances 20) utopia/ the sound of drums/ last of the time lords
The empty child scared me so much when my school went on a trip to a war museum I refused to go near the gas masks even 2 years after I saw the episode
Is Tom Baker holding you hostage?
isn't he dead?
Joker actually he’s still alive and well
Joker NO!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@lenarobinson2053 it was a fake
Some idiot spread fake rumors
Only emotionally.
Finally, someone who also likes Time of Angels and Flesh and Stone
missygirl 101 yasss they are
Great episodes but god they're scary
I like it but it creates plotholes in blink by the whole "image of an angel becomes an angel itself"
I love those stories
Other than the angels moving which is so dumb it's a underrated gum
Personally, I wish Fires of Pompeii were on the list. It has Donna sharing the Doctor's burden, as they kill the entire town together. The supporting cast is incredible, and deserve to be mentioned. Good Scottish support, Wonder where they are now ;)
Also 'Midnight', for the intensity, and courage of not having the Doctor saving them.
Fun fact Moffat wrote the Empty Child WTF went wrong
Moffat was always a one story a year writer, not a showrunner type. Especially later on when he had to do Sherlock as well, he just went downhill in quality.
but the season 10 final was very well done :) one of my favourite stories and my best season finale of new doctor who.
Your watching Moffat's Doctor Who if you're disappointed it's your fault you should know how Moffat works by now.
I've done my favourite for each series as I can't choose out of all
Series 1= Empty Child/Doctor Dances
Series 2= Rise of Cybermen/Age of Steel
Series 3= Utopia/Sound of drums/last of timelords
Series 4= Silence of Library/Forest of Dead
Series 5= Vincent and the Doctor
Series 6= The Impossible Astronaught/Day of the Moon
Series 7A= Angels take Manhattan
Series 7B= Day of the Doctor:
Series 8= Flatline
Series 9= Heaven Sent
Series 10= World Enough and time/Doctor Falls
The only one I disagree for is series 3. I thought that was Human Nature.
Series 11= None, Because it's sh*t
Agree with most of it.
I agree with everything apart from series 1, 3, 6 Series 1 would be dalek, series 3 would be the family of blood two parter and series 6 would be the girl who waited
Dave out of each modern series.
Series 1 - Dalek
Series 2 - Rise of Cybermen/Age of Steel
Series 3 - Human Nature/Family of Blood
Series 4 - Midnight
Series 4b - Fires of Pompeii
Specials - Waters of Mars, then The Next Doctor
Series 5 - Didn't like this series so I'll just say Time of Angels/Flesh and Stone
Series 6 - Didn't like any of this series
Series 7 - Cold War - brought back Ice Warriors
Series 8 - Into The Dalek
Series 8b - Flatline
Series 9 - Under The Lake /Before The Flood
Series 10 - Oxygen. World enough and Time would be higher if it weren't connected to The Doctor Falls
Great top 10. All these episodes I hold in high regard. Here is my top 10
10. Boom Town (So underrated, I can't believe this episode explores the psyche of a farting Alien but it was amazing to watch. The Doctor dining with one of his enemies is a stroke of genius.)
9. Rose (A brilliant re-introduction to the show which proved that Doctor Who can appeal to both old and new audiences. Using the Autons as the first villain was a very good call and I like how their invasion plan was a backdrop to the introduction to the Doctor and Rose. I also love the set up of the companion living such a mundane hum drum life.)
8. Bad Wolf/Parting of the Ways (The best finale of the new series by far. The Game Station is a brilliant macabre concept. Discovering the Daleks were behind it all was a great twist along with the regeneration. It took me by surprise back then because I didn't follow the show religiously like I do now. This episode changed all of that.)
7. A Christmas Carol (Xmas specials are very hit and miss for me. With this one i loved the Sci-Fi retelling of the Dickens classic. It was imaginative, weird and the characters were a lot more established and had a much better arc than the shitty Narnia special.)
6. The Christmas Invasion (This episode shouldn't work but it really does. This episode taught me to embrace change a great message to my 12 year old self. The episode still contains dark subject matter despite being festive. David Tennant spends most of his time having a nap in this episode but when the Doctor recovers he really impresses.)
5. The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit (This 2 parter is so eery and dark it's hard to believe it's followed by the 2 worst episodes in who history. I love how this episode reinvigorates the base under siege formula by putting the fucking devil in it)
4. The Waters of Mars (Another dark and eery base under siege story which also challenges the Doctors beliefs similar to how Satan Pit did. I so totally agree that this should've been Tennant's regeneration story his meddling with time should've been his downfall. I also love the idea of how this episode could potentially happen in my life time.)
(Fuck Missy grr) Who can forget the brilliant resolution to that cliffhanger?)
Great list!
My personal list :)
1. The Empty Child

3. The Sound of Drums
4. Extremis

5. The Waters of Mars
6. Day of the Doctor
7. Dalek
8. Amy's Choice
9. The Pilot
10. Blink
(I couldnt work out how to feature these in my list but here are what I would consider my honourable mentions:
3. Oxygen
2. Extremis
1. World Enough and Time/ The Doctor Falls
Peter Capaldi is brilliant by the way!
The tone of the series is annoying.
TheCleginator
Midnight is the scariest episode overall
World Enough and Time = Best Cyberman Story of New Who.
Here's my list
1. Bad Wolf/The Parting of Ways
2. Empty Child/Doctor Dances
3. The Angels Takes Manhatten.
4. Turn Left.
5. Heaven Sent
6. The Eleventh Hour
7. Knock Knock
8. Father's Day
9. The Day of The Doctor.
10. Last Christmas
I want to make a special mention to Smile.
10: Father's Day
9: Midnight
8: Dalek
7: Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead
6: World Enough and Time/The Doctor Falls
5: Human Nature/The Family of Blood
4: Utopia/The Sound of Drums/Last of the Time Lords
3: The Waters of Mars
2: Bad Wolf/Parting of the Ways
1: Heaven Sent
Honorable Mentions: The Eleventh Hour, The Stolen Earth/Journey's End, The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit, The Rings of Akhaten, Oxygen, Thin Ice, Turn Left, and The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances.
Forced Memes rings of Akhaten? That episode is so shit
Harry GW excuse me sir. Akhaten was a great episode.
you were doing so well
Anyone else notice that the Daleks haven't really straight-up shot a human onscreen since "Victory of the Daleks"? When your most iconic villain mostly just sits about squawking "obligatory catchphrase!", then you know you've fucked up.
In into the dalek rusty and some of the other daleks got a few kills
The Daleks shot people in Series 7,8 and 9 since Series 5 so you are wrong
I think Moffat loves the idea of monster redemption. So far given us a 'cuddly' Sontaran, one and a half sympathetic Daleks Oswin & Rusty (tho the former reverts) and a sweet Cyberhead, Handles. Plus the new era Zygons are now our friends apart from a terrorist faction. Plus Madam Vastra the hero lesbian Silurian!
You said exactly what I thought about Blink and my favorite episode, The Waters Of Mars. Well done.
FINALLY!!! Someone acknowledged The Eleventh Hour!
I was 5 years old when I watched "The Empty Child" and it literally haunted me for years to come. Even when I rewatch it now I have to have the lights on. It's my one fear that will always be with me. Good on Moffat for that one.
Moffat started in 2010..... it was Russel T Davies who directed that one.....
Moffat wrote it
you are seriously underrated in youtube
Even though I think that the classic series is infinitely better than the new series, there are still plenty of masterpieces:
10. Vincent and the Doctor
9. Oxygen
8. The Impossible Astronaut/Day of the Moon
7. The Eleventh Hour
6. Blink
5. World Enough and Time/The Doctor Falls
4. The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit
3. Bad Wolf/Parting of the Ways
2. Waters of Mars
1. Heaven Sent
94830 086436 the doctor falls is not very good
94830 086436 your number 5 is really good best of Capaldi
I agree with this a lot but I didn't really like Doctor Falls (mainly because of the moments between The Doctor blowing up the place and Bill leaving plus the fact that Master (Simm) was underused).
Also would include Midnight on that list.
94830 086436 jeez I thought heaven sent was quite good for peter capaldi but I don't think it's that good
Well, what's your favorite New Who story then?
I personally really like The Unicorn and The Wasp. I think it's a very intresting episode and as a big Agatha Christie fan, it was really enjoyable.
10. Heaven Sent
9. The End of Time (come at me bro 😉)
8. Father’s Day
7. Bad Wolf/The Parting of the Ways
6. Dalek
5. Midnight
4. Turn Left
3. The Waters of Mars
2. Blink
1. Day of the Doctor
Woah, what about Midnight? That was a really good episode in my opinion.
I keep debating my own top 10 best New Who list, so here are what I consider to be My favorite/least horrible story's for each series instead:
series 1: Bad wolf/The parting of the ways
series 2: The impossible/The Satan pit
series 3: Gridlock & 42
series 4: Planet of the Ood
series 5: Amy's choice
series 6: The Doctor's wife
series 7: Dinosaurs on a spaceship
series 8: Robot of Sherwood
series 9: Under the lake/Before the flood
series 10: Don't know yet
the specials: The waters of Mars
I'm not a fan of Robot of Sherwood, but I consider it to be the least horrible episode of series 8.
....."Robot of Sherwood' !!?? Not 'Mummy On The Orient Express' or "Flatline' !? .....Well everyone has their own opinion.
Casual CraftMan my opinion
S1) Empty child/doctor dances
S2) Girl in the fireplace
S3) Blink
S4) Turn left/the stolen earth/Journeys End
S5) The Lodger
S6) A Good Man Goes To War
S7) Dinosaurs on a Spaceship (my personal favourite of the whole of NewWho)
S8) Dark Water/Death in Haven
S9) under the lake/Before The Flood
S10) World enough and time/ the doctor falls (THE ONLY DECENT EPISODE IN THIS FUCKING SHITE SERIES)
My top ten:
+Xord "The Doctor's Wife" was written by Neil Gaiman.
Ah shit, you are totally right. I knew it was one of them.. I'll edit that now.
What you said first in Heaven Sent is literally me
Thanks for including Time of the Angels/Flesh and Stone, that story is extremely underrated for some reason, I thought it was the best by far from Season 5. Though I definitely think Tennant should have a few more on here, Girl in the Fireplace, Utopia, Midnight and The End of Time were all amazing imo.
I love how many moffat stories are on the list. People give him crap but he's wrote some of the best stories ever.
This is gonna be hard and would probably be different on another day but here I go:
10.Tooth and Claw
9.Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead
8.The Time of Angels/Flesh and Stone
7.The Day of the Doctor
6.Bad Wolf and the Parting of the Ways
5.Waters of Mars
4.Utopia/The Sound of Drums/Last of the Timelords
3.The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit
2.Blink
1.Human Nature/The Family of Blood
I could give so many stories honourable mentions and I think 4-10 could be in any order with any of my honourable mentions being able to replace them but my 1-3 is definite and will probably never change, I can understand why you think Blink is overrated as I too get sick of hearing people saying that people should start watching DW there but I cannot find a single flaw with the episode it is one of the most famous episodes of TV history not just DW for a reason, but for me Human Nature and The Family of Blood manages to be perfect like Blink but twice as long with great performances from everyone with of course the exception of Daughter of Mine but I let that slide cause shes a child actor. As for The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit, its a brilliantly executed and claustrophobic base under siege story involving the devil what else is there to say about it.
THANK YOU, human nature and family of blood is unexpectedly underated
So you don’t like capaldi
@@EhmAmATANK I do like Capaldi but Moffat and co were well past their best by then and it looks like Chibnall wouldn't have been able to save him either with how the last two seasons played out. There were some great stories but they'd probably only manage to make HM for me.
I cant choose and my opinion have changed a lot in the last couple months, so here is my favourite from each series of new who:
Series 1: Bad Wolf and The Parting Of The Ways
Series 2: Rise Of The Cybermen and The Age Of Steel
Series 3: Human Nature and The Family Of Blood
Series 4: Midnight
2009 Specials: Waters Of Mars
Series 5: The Time Of Angels and Flesh And Stone
Series 6: The Rebel Flesh And The Almost People
Series 7: The Bells Of Saint John
Series 8: Flatline
Series 9: Under The Lake And Before The Flood
Series 10: World Enough And Time And The Doctor Falls
I think my all time favourite is Rise Of The Cybermen And The Age Of Steel
YES, you're the first person I saw to mention midnight
I hate you@@spoopyghost6722
Rise of The Cybermen is rated U, not even kidding.

Yes I Flipping Loved Season 10
You said how you liked Torchwood. Not many Who-UA-camrs (Whotubers?) have done top ten videos on the Torchwood episodes and I'd love to see your opinion on your favorite episodes. Also the Empty Child is also one of my favorites as well.
DanHenn I think I'd have to rewatch the series before I did that but I'll probably do it at some point ☺
Including S10,
10) Rose
9) Day of the Doctor
8) School Reunion
7) Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead
6) The Zygon Invasion/Inversion
5) The Pyramid at the Extremis/End of the World/The Lie of the Land
4) The Stolen Earth/Journey's End
3) The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances
2) Bad Wolf/The Parting of the Ways
1) World Enough and Time/The Doctor Falls

7. Listen
6. The Day of The Doctor
5. Blink
4. Silence of The Library / Forest of The Dead
3. Vincent and The Doctor
2. The Waters of Mars
Here's my Top 10
10. Human Nature/The Family of Blood
9. The Vampires of Venice
8. Extremis (NOT including Episodes 7 and 8!!)
7. Time Heist
6. The Day of the Doctor
5. Aliens of London/World War Three
4. School Reunion
3. Turn Left/The Stolen Earth/The Parting of the Ways
2. The Unicorn and the Wasp
1. Bad Wolf/The Parting of the Ways
Extremis is my least favourite ever. I liked LOTL though. I'm surprised to see Time Heist, DOTD, School reunion and series 4 finale in there, as I really loved them, on contrary to Extremis
Vampires of Venice? Fair enough, probably my least favourite episode of series 5
Good video dude, I want you to have more subs so badly
Billy McConville Thanks! so do I 😂
You going to the BFI event?
Billy McConville Probably not but I might be going to London comic con 😊
Great video, thank you.

Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoy my videos :D
My 13 Best (In no particular order)
Oxygen
The End of Time
Human Nature/The Family of Blood
The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit
World Enough and Time/The Doctor Falls
Utopia/The Sound of Drums/Last of The Timelords
Rise of The Cybermen/The Age of Steel
Extremis/The Pyramid at The End of The World/The Lie of The Land
The Waters of Mars
Stolen Earth/Journey's End
Army of Ghosts/Doomsday
Knock Knock
Bad Wolf/The Parting of Ways
Day of the Doctor would of been so much better if Eccleston came back. Not to say I don't like John Hurt, but it really fucks with continuity.
The empty child script is really good "gas mask extra 3 - are you my mummy
Gas mask extra 4 at the same time as 3 - are you my mummy"
10. Journey to the Centre of the Tardis
9. A Good Man Goes to War
8. Rise of the Cybermen/The Age of Steel
7. The Eleventh Hour
6. Twice Upon a Time
5 . Water of Mars
4. Oxygen
3. Heaven Sent
2. Mummy on the Orient Express
Companion: "Oh God, You killed Kenny."
Doctor: "Yes, I'm a Bastard."
Finally someone that loves under the lake/before the flood. Imo I would also put it in my new series top 10. Ngl though I did find the fisher king quite shoddy for new series standards, but that never really bothered me hehe. I 100% agree with 10 and Donna, favourite tardis team since the 70's.
My personal top 10 list of new series episodes
1. Heaven Sent
2. The Fires of Pompeii
3. Day of the Doctor
4. Rings of Akhaten (fite me)
5. Time of the Doctor
6. Parting of Ways
7. Blink
8. The Empty Child
9. Rose
10. The Eleventh Hour
Plz don't hurt me.
My favourites :
1. Pandorica opens
2. Blink (overrated I know)
3. The time of angels
4. Deep breath
5. A Christmas carol
6. School reunion
7. Day of the doctor
8. The lodger
9. The impossible astronaut
10. The eleventh hour
My top 10 are:
10. Utopia
9. Turn Left
8. Journey’s End
7. Dalek
6. Heaven Sent
5. Day of the Doctor
4. The Eleventh Hour
3. The Beast Below
2. The Fires of Pompeii
1. Waters of Mars
...and for me 1 & 2 are together...I can’t separate them.
Had the same reaction as Empty Child, except it was Father's Day for me. Those Reapers terrified me
Always loved your content man
Here’s mine:
10. Amy’s choice
9. Empty child/ Doctor dances
8. Bad wolf/parting of the ways
7. Blink
6. Time of angels/flesh and stone
5. Impossible astronaut/day of the moon
4. Human nature/family of blood
3. Mummy on the orient express
2. Heaven sent
1. Midnight
Amazing job, almost all episodes on the list are my favourites too (except 1 or 2 maybe). My own personal top 3 is
1. Waters of Mars (I don't know why but I loved that episode since the first time i saw it, I could spend hours talking about it),
2. Heaven Sent
3.The Impossible Planet/Satan Pit
so my questions for you are: since you didn't put the impossible planet/satan pit in the list, what do you think about these two episodes? and have you got any honourable mention for some episodes that you enjoyed but didn't get on the top 10? let me know
p.s. I'm not English so I don't know if i made some grammar mistakes writing all this stuff... well in that case nevermind, keep doing more videos, they're great!
knightofcydonia. the impossible planet is great, I do love it! if I did honourable mentions then it'd definitely be one. Also, your English was fine so don't worry about that ☺
My top ten include:
10: Dalek
9: Time of Angles/Flesh and Stone
8: The Christmas Invasion
7: The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit
6: The Girl in the Fireplace
5: Midnight
4: Fathers Day
3: Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead
2: Empty Child/The Doctor Dances
1: Rise of the Cybermen/Age of Steel
Surprised you haven’t included Human Nature/Family of Blood and 42 on this list, thought those stories were vastly underrated!
Hey Wingy, what do u think to doing a top ten moments series, for both the classic and new seasons. It would be cool seeing top ten worse cringe moments too, that would be funny! Love the Chanel man!
Best
10.bad wolf & parting of the ways
9.uptia, the sound of the drums and whatever it is
8.blink
7.the empty child & the doctor dances
6.aliens of London & and world war three
5.love and monsters
(not the monster)
4.night terrors
3 . Amy's choice
2.dalek
Honourable mentions:
The power of three
Deep breath
Thin ice
Vincent and the doctor
The eleventh hour
1.heaven sent
(you all know why)
yeah, Katherine Tate is one of the best companions - the perfect foil to the Doctor and a wondeful conduit for the audience to observe him through her eyes
i still really liked the impossible girl though
Geez, so many episodes on this list are ones I've only watched once or twice. If I didn't live with my Mum, I would have much more time to watch some of the more highly rated episodes. Anyway, here are 10 I really like, mostly because I've watched these plenty of times.
The Empty Child
Planet of the Dead
The End of Time
The Eleventh Hour
Victory of the Daleks
Vincent & The Doctor
The Big Bang
The Angels Take Manhattan
The Day of The Doctor
Flatline
10-Fathers Day
9-School Reunion
8-The Runaway Bride
7-Smith and Jones
6-Human Nature/Family of Blood
5-The Lazarus Experiment
4-Waters of Mars
3-The Eleventh Hour
2-Day of the Doctor
1-Heaven Sent
Interesting list, again many we disagree on and many we disagree on the placement on, but I can see why you made these choices. My list looks more like this
10 School Reunion (Sarah Jane is back, so's K9, Mickey joins up, Tony Head is in it, nuff said)
9 Human Nature/Family of Blood (Of course I love this it's based on a 7th Doctor story, joking aside it is a wonderful character piece)
8 11th Hour (Moffatt had to knock it out of the park with this one and he really did, it really established the new Doctor perfectly)
7 Blink (Is it overrated? Yes, very much, but it is still a great watch and the only time on TV I cared about the weeping angels)
6 Parting of the Ways (Not perfect by any stretch, but a really good ending for a muchly underrated Doctor)
5 Girl In The Fireplace (Great performance by the guest cast and a great monster)
4 Heaven Sent (Perhaps the artistic height of the show and a diamond in a mountain of rocks that was later Moffatt stories)
3 Dalek (It gave so much threat to a Dalek, something we haven't seen done successfully since)
2 Empty Child/The Doctor Dances (The first truly great episode of nu who, everything came together for this one)
1 Vincent and the Doctor (I'm sorry but this is my favourite of both nu who and classic, it is such a touching portrayal of what he went through)
Finally, someone who loves Under the Lake/Before the Flood, such an underrated story...
Edit: Same with Time of Angels/Flesh and Stone.
Series 1: The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances
Series 2: School Reunion or The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit (Undecided)
Series 3: Human Nature/The Family Of Blood
Series 4 Part 1: Silence In The Library/Forest Of The Dead
Series 4 Part 2: The Waters Of Mars
Series 5: The Eleventh Hour or The Lodger (Undecided)
Series 6: A Good Man Goes To War
Series 7 Part 1: The Snowmen
Series 7 Part 2: The Day Of The Doctor
Series 8: The Caretaker, Mummy On The Orient Express or Flatline (Undecided for all)
Series 9: Heaven Sent
Series 10: World Enough And Time/The Doctor Falls
My top 12 in no particular order....
1: Dalek
2: The Empty Child and The Doctor Dances
3: Bad Wolf and Parting Of The Ways
4: The Impossible Planet and the Satan Pit
5: Human Nature and The Family Of Blood
6: Listen
7: Mummy On The Orient Express
8: Last Christmas
9: The Magician's Apprentice and the Witches Familiar
10: Under The Lake and Before The Flood
11: The Raven Trilogy (I love Hell Bent. You can't change my mind.)
12: World Enough And Time and The Doctor Falls
Btw, what you said about the TARDIS mind palace kind of thing in Heaven Sent being too much like Sherlock, fun fact, the Doctor's character was originally partially inspired by Holmes. Just sayin'.
My favourite NuWho episodes (No particular order):
1) Empty Child/The Doctor Dances
2) The Doctor's Wife
3) Mummy on the Orient Express
4) Waters of Mars
5) World Enough and Time/The Doctor Falls
6) The Pandorica Opens (screw "The Big Bang")
7) Oxygen
8) Pyramid At The End of the World (screw "Lie of the Land")
9) Midnight
10) Bad Wolf/Parting of the Ways
11) Day of the Doctor (just because of John Hurt's War Doctor's scenes)
12) Turn Left/Stolen Earth (screw "Journeys End")
13) Dalek
14) Heaven's Sent (screw "Hell Bent")
15) Rise of the Cybermen/Age of Steel
16) Utopia/Sound of Drums/Last of the Timelords
17) Fires of Pompeii
18) Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead
19) Eleventh Hour
20) Vincent And The Doctor
As I said, this is in no order apart from "order which I remembered them" and there I did 20 of them because... meh, why not? I just don't think others come that much closer to these so why remove half of them?
I can't actually rank these 10 stories, but they are my personal picks for new series Who (along with my personal favourite), up to and including The Doctor Falls
- Planet of the Ood
- Dalek
- Under the Lake/Before the Flood
- Mummy on the Orient Express
- Midnight
- Heaven Sent
- Vincent and the Doctor
- Waters of Mars
- The Girl Who Waited
Favourite (probably a bit too soon to fully judge, but oh well) - World Enough and Time/The Doctor Falls
Honourable Mentions:
Girl in the Fireplace; Time Heist; Fathers' Day; School Reunion; Oxygen; Knock Knock; Cold War and The Eleventh Hour
If I had to choose a few desert island discs of new who, I'd probably go for these:
-Impossible Planet/Satan Pit (good old voice of Sutekh in there)
-Asylum of the Daleks (I know it isn't that popular, but I feel the daleks were finally creepy in this story and I love the atmosphere + I can try and go back to a time when "That Companion" actually had a worthy story arc before it got ruined in the finale)
-Utopia/Sound of Drums/Last of the Time Lords
-Empty Child/Doctor Dances
-Vincent and the Doctor
-The Impossible Astronaut/Day of the Moon (possibly my no.1 story)
-Heaven Sent*
-Under the Lake/Before the Flood* (though if this season 10 finale is as good as it has SO much potential to be I'd probably replace it)
*i think there's a general consensus that these are Capaldi's best episodes.
-Human Nature/The Family of Blood
-The Hungry Earth/Cold Blood (ignoring the AWFUL redesign of the silurians, it's a great moral/base under siege story in my opinion - again, I know it's not a popular choice)
wingy, I love before the flood and under the lake it's one of my favorites!
Day Of The Doctor was very hilarious(well, sorta. You get the point.)The first time the Eleventh Doctor meets the Tenth,it's just...hilarious.
10. Badwolf
9.The rings of Akhaten
8.The stolen earth / Journey's end
7. Time Heist
6. Human nature / The family of blood
5.Amy's Choice
4. The day of the Doctor
3. Silence in the library / Forest of the dead
2. The Army of ghosts / Doomsday
1. Turn left
Under the Lake and Before the Flood are my favourites from Series 9, a series that was overall really uneven. Hell Bent was so bad that my mum and I just... gave up.
Mine is in no particular order (Ik there’s 11 but I like them all basically equally)
11.Day of the Doctor
10.Moonlight
9.Silence in the library/Forrest of the dead
8.eleventh hour/beast below (cant chose between them Beast below is so underrated)
7.the girl who waited
6.waters of mars
5.Journeys end
4.Heaven sent
3.Dalek
2.Blink
1.Vincent and the doctor
Did you mean midnight instead of moonlight

4.flatline
5.human nature/family of blood
6.the eleventh hour
7.oxygen
8.the fires of pompeii
9.badwolf/parting of the ways
10.listen
(honerable mention to School Reunion)
I love this list these are all my favorite episodes
My top stories would be:
10: impossible astronaut/day of the moon
9: blink
8: dalek
7 the eleventh hour
6: silence in the library/ forest of the dead
5: flesh and stone/ time of angels
4: Amy’s Choice
3: Heaven Sent
2: Human nature/ family of blood
1: Midnight
my top 10 new who episodes
10. blink
9. the time of the doctor
8. the end of time part 1
7. the girl in the fireplace
6. gridlock
5. heaven sent
4. a good man goes to war
