- Astronauts on a voyage to stretch the mark of humanity, only to find themselves crashed on an asteroid, or so they think? This week we're talking about the Twilight Zone episode "I Shot an Arrow into the Air." We'll discuss whether or not we actually can land on an asteroid--and possibly if we can live on, or in, one; we'll take a stroll over to Sigmund Freud's house and get a better sense of how our astronauts are affected by the reality principle and the pleasure principle; and I'll reveal to you my moment of awe. So, if you love Rod Serling and the Twilight Zone, strap in, and consider joining us on this journey through the fifth dimension.

No show did a better job than The Twilight Zone at generating awe and wonder within its audience. It just so happens that awe is exactly what we need in these difficult, divisive times. So, join me, Joe Meyer, and let's walk through the fifth dimension with Rod Serling. Along the way, we'll discuss big questions and relate them back to our Twilight Zone episodes.

Just stumbled across the channel, loved the analysis and your question format. Instant sub, keep up the good work!
Thank you for the kind words. They help motivate me to keep getting better.
Did you ever think of the irony of deserts and droughts on a planet that is over 90 percent made of water?
The thought water can be scarce when there is more of it than there is minerals, at least beyond the molten magma.
Thank you for the shout-out! :) 🤍
Thank you for taking the time to leave your thoughts. I appreciate it.
I would argue there is little point in trying to survive a grim situation like that if you lose your humanity; the wounded guy absolutely should have been given water.
Agreed, and well said.
Another source cites a different number. Serling met the woman at a party. She made an elevator pitch to Serling who liked the high concept idea so much that he wrote out a check on the spot. It was more like $5K USD, not $500.
I appreciate the information. I'll look around and see if I can find the other source. That's a pretty big difference.
