Once I figured out what was going on - I came on board. At first I was rerunning all the TWZ episodes I have seen trying to figure out how I missed this one - it took the i Phone in the lab to make it all click into place. Nicely done - more please.
You guys did an outstanding job, given what you had to work with. Everything from the choice of BW photography to the music captures the spirit of the original I am impressed!👍😎
Well Done! Impressive..Ray Bradbury would have enjoyed this srory..yes i met him many times when I worked at Tessmann Planetarium located on the campus of Santa Ana College, Santa Ana CA. Dr Jim Christian was the Head of the Philosophy Dept. He had a course every other yr named Theatre of Ideas & Ray was one of the "Instructor's' of the class.
Considering it was made by non-professional actors, it was fun and interesting to watch. Kudos to the group that made this video, and thanks for uploading. I for one, enjoyed it.
I come back every couple of years to watch this. I wonder what all the actors are up to nearly a decade later. I think this was a college project from somewhere in Canada. I'm sure when these kids made this, they had no idea they'd actually have fans on the internet enjoying their work. And yet... All these years later... I still don't know what the lead actress was doing with her hands at 8:34... Lol!
This was well done! Thank you. Perhaps you'll win Oscars in Hollywood someday. Everyone has to start somewhere. Mountains grow from small hills. I wish you continued success in the future. Keep giving it your best effort.
NO THEY DON'T, MOUNTAINS GROW FROM CONTINENTAL PLATES SLAMMING TOGETHER. HILLS CAN GET STARTED ALL KINDS OF DIFFERENT WAYS. WIND BEING THE MOST COMMON. WIND WILL CUT A MOUNTAIN DOWN BUT NEVER TURN A HILL INTO A MOUNTAIN. LOL - JUST MESSING WITH YOU. YOU'RE VERY NICE .
OK fine, I found this quite funny and perfectly in tune with the twilight zone . Its like the twilight zone turned inside itself for a change. Refreshing take I must say. LOL still amused...
It would be a mind screw and the problem regarding stasis and tech changes. What would be the ethical thing to do when we are passing generation or stasis ships that have much slower propulsion. Would people land and find out they're not the colonists, but rather arriving in thriving settlements that have been around for generations? What would we prefer if we were aboard those ships?
Okay, it had it's drawbacks, but all in all, a fine effort. I think the episode was helped greatly by the excellent choice of background music to help propel the mood of the drama along. I still don't know what the heck was going on with the actress at 8:34 exactly... lol. Never the less, good job. It was fun to watch! (Attention Laura, or somebody who worked on this--- Where did you get the soundtrack? I've been looking for it here on UA-cam, but can't seem to find it. Was it a Twilight Zone score, or a combination of scores? For instance, the music at the end where she's looking out the window... Where was that from?)
Hi Bill, I helped make this for a month-long course. It's been a while, but I believe all the music comes from different episodes of the original Twilight Zone.I particularly remember using some music from the episode The Invaders composed by Jerry Goldsmith of Alien fame.
You all need to go to drama school and learn how to act.....it is more a comedy in no acting ability...gee, are all of your relatives of the actors? Most of the lines were spoken with the just words being spoken, no real acting ability here......
Yes writing, music and lighting was the key to TZ. In directing and editing you captured those three. In fact another element was key to TZ, Outer Limits and One Step Beyond: the ability to write a plot that did not require elaborate sets and FX. That is rare today as most film today relies on the violent action, FX and elaborate ILM style visuals to drag along a pretty hollow script. I blame Lucas.
william pitman In the 1950's and 1960's almost EVERYONE smoked them. Both my parents did, but their three kids never have and never will. The Warning printed on the packages was not done until the medical studies caught up with how bad these cancer sticks really are, in the Surgeon General Report - *1965*. In 1969, cigarette advertising on television and radio was banned, and mandated to take effect in September, 1970. That was the year I graduated from High School. Several of my classmates smoked cigarettes and many that didn't teased their stupidity. I ran track then, setting a school record that stood for 36 years. Smoking a cigarette does not make anyone a loser, especially in the years we see nearly EVERY actor in every movie doing it. We can and should pity them in these more aware and modern times, though. Rod Serling was a creative genius, praised for his work in storytelling and cinema. He died at the young age of 50, in 1975, two days after heart surgery. Most likely his smoking contributed to his early death. *The Twilight Zone* remains one of my all-time favorite series and I have seen every episode, many times.
Funny that after some 200 years, all the effort put into terraforming Mars, etc. That they wouldn't have long ago sent out a shuttle craft to retrieve the various lost earlier capsules and carry the astronauts safely to a hospital and a better debriefing process.
Her acting WAS good-but not when they first explained to her and she panicked and was waving her hands. It's funny that Cigarette he had in his hand looked more like a Lollipop stick!LOL.
Ran across this ...kudos to a post production of a pre dawning of how TZ would be within today’s standards. I thought the cell phone under the microscope was great!
Haha if I remember correctly, he used swishers in every scene except for the ones filmed in campus buildings. We (obviously) couldn't smoke in there so we just rolled up paper instead. In the teaser he's smoking two swishers at the same time lol
Errata: Rod Serling :) LOL. You guys did a great job. Let's see... in te year 2,259 we all be "Dust in the wind". Unless one of these concepts would applied, but no matter which one, the body that we now have wil in deed be dust....in the wind (Should there be any wind). The Atheist way. Dust in the wind, nothing else. The Mormon way: If Baptised before death, In the Celestial Kingdom = "A Heaven a its own (With plenty of females for a few selected ones and just one for the rest of males...Sorry women, only one man for you. Sorry guys at large; No cofee, no beer, no wine, no Coca Cola.... but hey!!!!, you're in heaven and just remember; It can be worse: 1. Telestial Kingdom, just like Earth but hard up until someone get baptised on you & 2. This is where you are out of luck: "Out of Darkness", whatever that may be il be. Can you figure that out?. The Seventh Day Adventist. This one is straight forward: 144K who worshipped on Saturdays and were nuts per se go to heaven, the rest of humanity; With AC/DC "♫♪High way to Hell♫. Ohhh, here comes another one perhaps, even better. 144K Go to heaven (A few stay alive today who will participate in the heavently body), the rest.... The Wicked once Dust in te Wind, always dust in the wind, but; The righteous and unrighteous wil be ressurected in an old fashion way and in groups to live on Paradise on Earth for 1K years. At the end, some will live to tell and wil become: "Inmortals" and the ones failing will join the wicked and the atheists, of course ;) Now the Catholic way. Purgatory to some and heaven or hell fo others. Evangelicals go straight to "Purgatory". Oh, by the way; If ET's shows up in between now and then; The Catholic church will try to baptised them too because, after all; God created all (Name it, He created them). Those using the Book of Muslim of Muslms: "Al infidels (Us included) straight to Hell. They will be in heaven wiht plenty of horny virgins. Evangelicals at large...'I rather not go there". It's more complicated tan that. To get my point, listen to the Christian Radio. Well?, now Im going to relax and listen to some DIO's Song.....♫♪ Holy Diver.........♫
Caleb B 1minor correction, back at that time, smoking was permitted on campus, in most colleges, IF the professor allowed. Smoking wasn't the offense that it is today. No one ever even thought of second-hand smoke, let alone considered it!
This was well worth watching. I'm not going to criticize it since it's a very well told story and presented well too. I'm just so disappointed you didn't include the fact that the earth was destroyed in a nuclear exchange around 2140. Then again I guess our astronaut needs to adjust to her new reality One Small Step at a time...
Coming from some one who has worked in motion picture and stage for over 30 years. I'm not an actor but play one at home Really good. Needs polishing. Not as campy and comedic as you think. Astronaut is good, very attractive although latter not relevant. Let's have lunch. Professor needs to fine tune acting skills. Music was great! Lower music during speaking parts and don't step on actor dialogue. News cast needs help. Watch iris and back light. The velvet rope took my attention away from scene.
Once I figured out what was going on - I came on board. At first I was rerunning all the TWZ episodes I have seen trying to figure out how I missed this one - it took the i Phone in the lab to make it all click into place. Nicely done - more please.
GREAT JOB!! You all are terrific!
this twilight zone is very good.
Smoking that cigarette so close to that roll of hay, you might end up in the..... Twilight Zone..
Nice. Just the right ammount of cheese, and the outtakes are great.
LOVE IT !!! So creative and great background music! Great story also ! DO MORE !
It would be funny if narrator was vaping to get the clouds of smoke 😄
Very nice work, thank you.
You guys did an outstanding job, given what you had to work with.
Everything from the choice of BW photography to the music captures the spirit of the original
I am impressed!👍😎
New sub
Very impressive.
You've captured the spirit of Mr. Rods
Twilight Zone
Chief Jones
Rather enjoyed this. As others have said you should do more. This had the best story I've seen of all the Twilight Zone fan films.
Enjoyed watching it! I seek out all the old black and white sci-fi shows.
When the narrator in the suit with the cigar spoke; i got goosebumps and chills all over my body, especially the spine!
Rod would be proud of your homage
Well Done! Impressive..Ray Bradbury would have enjoyed this srory..yes i met him many times when I worked at Tessmann Planetarium located on the campus of Santa Ana College, Santa Ana CA. Loved the commercial; enjoyed the show!
Thank you to everybody who brought this most interesting Twilight Zone project to life. 👍🏻✌🏻🖖🏻
Very well done glad things turned out well for her. The commercial adds realism to the time period.
Great job rod serling would be proud
Considering it was made by non-professional actors, it was fun and interesting to watch. Kudos to the group that made this video, and thanks for uploading. I for one, enjoyed it.
Excellent episode! You kept the spirit of the original Twilight Zone.
Great job on all aspects of the film. thanks for including the outtakes... It looks like you had a lot of fun doing this!
I come back every couple of years to watch this. I wonder what all the actors are up to nearly a decade later. I think this was a college project from somewhere in Canada. Creative and entertaining! Thanks for sharing!
Great video.
Cool show of love

No closed caption on this video sent me to the Twilight Zone! Holy Twilight Nightmare, Batman! 😱
Very well done, loved it!! 😃
Great old commercial too. Haha
That was awesome . Thanks you
That was a good Drury story. The LSMFT at the end was true old fashion advertised.
Can anyone else say shatnerian school of over acting. Of which I am huge fan, love all of your performances. Great work.
I enjoyed this. I don't know anyone involved in this video, but you did a great job. I appreciate the use of real TZ music.
Very good.
The girl astronaut did a fine job of acting!
Very stage like
no she didn't
Not at all, she was the worst
Overdone, while the guys were under performing.
You guys, it was a college project. Take it for what it is, and either enjoy it or not.
Very well done, Please do more. Authentic Twilight Zone feel, sound and mystery. Rod Serling would congratulate you.
Very good!
This was awesome! You guys HAVE to do more!
That is when you save another 5$ for another episode .
I really enjoyed this show
That was awesome. :)
OK fine, I found this quite funny and perfectly in tune with the twilight zone . Its like the twilight zone turned inside itself for a change. Refreshing take I must say. LOL still amused...
The girl is actually very good! She may make it as an actress if she continues!
Fairly decent effort.
Pretty silly, but I do like that music at beginning and the end of it.Same music from Classic episode 'One for the Angels'. ...TONY
Very amusing!
Well done. Greetings from Spain.
Very good
The changing of the guard is my favorite watch it last night
The Announcer Mr pierce better learn to smoke a cigarette before he does it in front of thousands of people.
Cool!
Good story. New twist on space travel.
Great job!
OK, I MUST ADMIT THIS WAS A GOOD REINCARNATION OF THE TWILIGHT ZONE.
Enjoyable!
Nice
Trying to channel Rod Serling through Hugh Hefner or the Marlboro Man?
Somehow she did not recognize 38% gravity.
As a baby boomer and a fan of the classic Twilight Zone I thought this was great. Maybe I can star in the next episode. I’m a great actor.
Good job guys please do more rod would be proud of you
Great more please

Bill Anthony Also, the college is for historical studies, so a futuristic set need not be built.
Hi Bill, I helped make this for a month-long course. It's been a while, but I believe all the music comes from different episodes of the original Twilight Zone.I particularly remember using some music from the episode The Invaders composed by Jerry Goldsmith of Alien fame.
@ 8:34, she was doing scary "jazz hands."
hugglescake- Lol, that explanation's as good as any!
Do another I really enjoyed that!

Yes. great, and thanks for the great effort : )
Terraforming Mars in 200 years? Nice.
Good job!
Maybe they tried to channel Ray Bradbury, but the coffin was engraved "Do Not Disturb"!
All in all - very well done indeed, though I would have said a parody of The Twilight Zone. but still very well done
Great stuff and has very similar feeling to the orignal series.
gorillaau loser is smoking a cigarette

Why do all the background stage scenes look like a college campus?
Her acting WAS good-but not when they first explained to her and she panicked and was waving her hands. It's funny that Cigarette he had in his hand looked more like a Lollipop stick!LOL.
nice
The running segment.
Cracked me up. Nice try. I enjoyed.
Ran across this ...kudos to a post production of a pre dawning of how TZ would be within today’s standards. I thought the cell phone under the microscope was great!
First 5 minutes, People are Alike all over?, .......and music from The Midnight Sun
you guys are funny
This must be painful for the actors to watch
wow
You are smoking two Lucky cigarettes at the same time.
But for highschool kids not to to bad.
wow... so scary.
Omaha Nebraska, Mars
LOL The new Rod Sterling is E-vaping xd xd xd
Haha if I remember correctly, he used swishers in every scene except for the ones filmed in campus buildings. We (obviously) couldn't smoke in there so we just rolled up paper instead. In the teaser he's smoking two swishers at the same time lol

Uh, an astronaut captain with a nose-ring?
PinkOld
You know how it is. If they refuse to take them out for important things like dental x-rays, why for a movie they don't get paid for?
this is the stupidiest shit ever
Not bad at all 🙂
A like because its so bad, its great... you want to pass that...
0:51 Her ship has crashed? She doesn't think she left earth? So...... is this casual dress Friday for Astronauts? Just wondering.
Oh man... Critics, critics! Lol...
Only thing I have to say is that there needs to be longer shots. But cool.
why am i jjust seeing this.
8:32 looks like Fred from Scooby Doo about to hit on Daphne
When did you hire Owen Shroyer to play the role of Serling?
He needs to smoke real cigarettes
I like girls with curly hair like that.

Well, OK.
However "captains" do not behave like that
