I updated a 13 inch unibody MacBook Pro mid 2012 with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB SSD. It works great! I didn’t know it could hold dual SSDs! I’d love to see you update one with that. Luke, bravo overall: Great channel, great communication skills, great angle with used frugal mac strategies! You fill an excellent niche. Gratitude for all your work, Luke! ❤️👍🏼👏🦅👈🏽
I loved my macbook air. The keyboard, battery life, and size just made it wonderful to use. It was just so good to use considering what its specs were.
I am a die-hard 11 inch MacBook fan. So when buying a MacBook last year, I chose a early 2015 model with 4gigs of ram and 256gigs of storage for about 450 bucks. Now thinking of it, that’s a HORRIBLE PRICE
I am very happy you put out this video. I am not a college kid, but a middle aged man who just does not have access to funds to get a new or even a slightly used Mac. At one point (please laugh at this because I am a hardcore iPhone/iPad/Apple Watch user) used to be Windows all the way. In the last few years, I have been dabbling with Mac and discovered I prefer macOS over Windows. I did pick up a 2012 Macbook Pro 3 years ago (basically brand new, it was purchased and sat in a closet for years) for just $200! I think I ended up only paying another $150 to add RAM and a 1 TB SSD. Times got difficult and I had to sell it. But, this is the Macbook Air part, I picked up a 2013 Macbook Air on FB Market for $75. The guy I bought it from said it did not work. I brought it home. I paid $5 for a Magsafe 2 attachment for the original Magsafe charger. I hooked it up and it turned on just fine. That was a year a go. It work alright. Id like to get a larger capacity M.2 SSD, but this thing has worked like a charm for me. I do not do anything really heavy except rending videos on it and it still beats all of my Windows systems I have at rendering vids. Keep up the good work, Luke!
Thank you Luke for the video, which I watched on my 2015 MacBook Air! Purchased it from a university student who had just purchased a 2019 MacBook Pro and sold it to me for $350...Core i5, 8gb ram, 256 ssd, in immaculate condition. I upgraded the SSD to an OEM 512 SSD and loving my move from Windows to Mac OSx! Hoping to get a few more years out of this MBA. Again, thank you!
Im currently using 2017 mba which is almost the same machine as 2015 air and it stil works perfectly. Im a research assistant at university and using air for light photoshop ( architectural design posters, small editing) , small cad files ,light 3d modeling and for writing articles and my thesis. It is still a laptop for daily tasks, students and academics 👍
Currently using mid 2012 11" Air and been absolutely loving it. the thin and lightness of it is really great and currently getting around 3+ hours of use from a single charge, which is decent for an 8 year old machine. (i think when it was new it has 5 hr of battery life? not sure though)
Yes, do the maxed out, 16 GB RAM, for the data double (from OWC), which is a 4 TB + 4 TB SSD = 8 TB combined of storage*. And maybe replace the battery with NuPower 2.5 inch SSD / HDD Alternate option for storage: 2 TB + 2 TB = 4 TB

You can upgrade the storage on the macbook air to something faster than the stock SSD and bigger for a modest cost maybe $20-30 and get substantial gains in performance, somewhat negating the argument that the unibody macbook pro is more upgradeable.
I took your advice and bought into this sweet deal. Just a scratch or two, but everything works perfectly and battery life seems to be great. I appreciate your research and advice. As usual, you're spot on. My first Mac laptop!
I just picked up a 2015 11" Air with an i5, 128gb, but most importantly 8gb of RAM for only $250 cash (Craigslist). Super happy with this little guy. It is my second Mac (I have a maxed out 2015 DG 15" Retina). The body is a little beat up, but the keyboard and screen are good (only one little dead pixel. Barely noticeable). Pretty impressed with the performance. Thanks for the great videos, Luke!
Just upgraded my mom's old windows xp computer that she's been using for atleast 15 years finally to a macbook air 2017 - I got an excellent deal, i5 with 8GB of ram for 299! It's an amazing laptop and she loves it!
Bro I haven’t watched the video yet as you might imagine as I am so early But your content is awesome and I just wanted to tell you that I love your content a lot 😀🔥🔥
I literally just maxed out a 13" Mid-2012 Pro with 2.9GHz i7 with 16GB of RAM and a combo 500GB SSD+500GB HDD, new SMP battery from Shenzhen, and gifted it to my girlfriend for her birthday with a fresh Catalina install. A smart display manager found online allows me to runs the "meh" LCD display at 1440x900 (instead of native 1280x800) and even if it's still not great, I found it much more usable. Please do a max out of that little beast, I've been really amazed of the final result and I'm eager to see what you can do with the same project! Love your contents, you really gave me inspiration to tackle that upgrade project!
I just jumped from windows to MacOS, an early 2015 A1466 is what I using, it was a little pricey but runs Catalina. Planing to use it for the next two years and then get one of the new ARM based Macs. Great video. Thanks
I got the M1 Air and no joke this thing has never gone slow. I got the base 8/256 and it’s been amazing. Best speakers and screen I’ve ever seen too. Super worth the money if you can find one new still. I’m glad I just saved and got one new. The ones that are well taken care of don’t end up on eBay lol people hang onto them for sure.
You just ran through a comparison of my two main MacBooks I use on a regular basis. I have a 2015 Air w/ 8GB / 120 SSD that I found on eBay about a year ago for $325, and I have a 2012 MacBook Pro upgraded to 16GB and 500GB SSD. The Air lives in my backpack and goes to meetings with me, basic office machine, the Pro sits on my desk connected to an external monitor with an external keyboard, mouse and trackpad. I find no wanted for performance on anything I would do on these machines. (I have a work owned Mac Pro 2013 on my desk at work at is super under used)
I got a late 2012 MacBook pro 13" unibody in 2016 brand new almost at the end of its lifecycle. Upgraded it to 16 gigs of ram and a 1TB sshd out of the box. Runs like a dream on Catalina. Planning on upgrading to 2 SSD's.
that same 2015 macbook air is my daily driver and it works like a charm. Great battery life great performance with i5 and 8gb ram and i can enjoy a good keyboard and lots of ports (dongle free). The only issue i will say is the display it does the job but terrible viewing angles.
I exchanged my MacBook with dvd. Drive and tradition hard drive for an Air because of how bulky and heavy it was to carry around. The Air has been with me since I started college in 2016 & still perfect. ❤️
@@jasonwang9413 It runs at 100C on normal browsing and 1080p youtube. Do you consider "ultra heavh tasks" to be everything that isn't within "Make your 1400USD MACHINE a Extremely expensive paper weight"?
Sasha Paléologue Well, I’m not talking about the new retina Air but the old silver ones which actually had somewhat adequate cooling for its performance
So I’m a Apple device user and want to purchase my first MacBook so I decided to get a used one for the time being and also not break the bank. Love this video it gave me a lil clarity if I should or should not buy the MacBook Air 13” 2013. I been using my friend’s for the year now (same model and year) and had no problems with it so I went ahead and I got mine for $315 good working no condition and little to no scratches/dents. I’m happy with this purchase
Thank you for giving this underrated MBA machine love, not into the unibody Pros though. I purchased my 2017 MBA just a couple months ago. I got it brand new for $749 (although I don't need it). I have always wanted this iconic design in my collection, and I am so happy with my purchase. I own several newer model MBAs including a 15' MBP 2019, I use them for different things. However, I use this MBA 2017 everyday, I also use it at nights as a sleep machine, and I am fine with the screen resolution when surfing/typing during the day. Edit: Another thing, due to the pandemic and the need for computers with stay at home and school work, the prices of used units have not depreciated. I have noticed a jacking of prices on ebay for this MBA and the 11'. After the pandemic, I hope the prices go down. Greed is so disappointing.
Im watching on the 2017 MacBook Air you told me to go for and buy on that stream, I talked em down too $430US and its awesome! And Luke? Id love to see ya boost that Mac.
I love your vids your one of people The Who got me into MacBooks. I subscribed to you in 2018 because your humor and you knew what you where doing and yes max out a 2012 MacBook Pro cuz that the one I'm watching this on :)
I just bought a MBA 2015, 8 Gb, 128GB SSD for €200. Except for some minor cosmetic scuffs, the computer is in great condition. I was expecting that at least the keyboard to have some slow keys, but no. Fantastic value for a light weight and durable computer on the go. I had this video in the back of my mind when I hit that buy button.
He actually explained that later in this video around 12:20. That was coming from a different perspective when those MacBook Airs we're being sold for over $1,000 so relax.
@@lukemiani If you do the mid-2012 mbp ram/ssd upgrade, make sure you get the i7 version of that mbp. The i5 version is super common, but the i7 version is relatively less common, by a long shot.
I’m still on a 2015 13” i7 Air and it’s my only computer. I got it in 2016, yes I could’ve bought a used Pro but I was a noob and I also wanted warranty and the best battery life, it was amazing how long it lasted brand new and still does
Luke you should totally do a video about maxing out a 2012 unibody. And totally not because I bought one a few hours ago to get into the apple environment after spending three hours watching your videos for advices.
I just bought three MBA - 2012, 2013, and 2014. Paid $50 each for the ‘13 and ‘14, and $80 for the ‘12 which was pristine and in original box, but needed a battery, which costs $25. So simple to upgrade the SSD for $30. All of them run Windows better than many PCs using Boot Camp and you can run Ventura with OCLP.
Oh yes!! I was looking for an ultra portable laptop and thought that all netbooks on the market sucked. So I bought an used Mid 2012 MacBook Air 11" with an Intel Core i5, 8GB of DDR3 RAM and a 128GB SSD in 2018 for just 360€. And it runs and runs and runs. Perfect for being on the GO!! Really nice device!
eBay has about a 1000 MBA's listed as of 8/23/20. If you do a little negotiating you'd be surprised what you can pick one up for. I purchased one today for $211 plus a shipping cost of $29. Great deals await
I have a 2012 11" macbook air 2ghz i7 i use for travel - design/movies on the go etc. Upgraded the ssd with a faster 500gb owc ssd and it flies. Great little travel machine - perfect for planes and abroad
Yeah I do agree.... Because I do have this since it was launched (late 2014) and it runs me decent along with my iMac 4K. Getting it used today is an even better value 👍🏻👍🏻
I just bought a (Late 2013) 15.4 MacBook Pro 2.6Ghz i7, 16gb of RAM, 512GB flash storage, dual graphics & battery cycle is 86 & 7416 out of 7416 mAh for $600. Perfect condition when I got it, it felt like I was opening it for the first time because the seller kept everything even the plastic the MacBook comes in & the piece of paper between the screen & keyboard. After watching this video I’m a little worried I could of overpaid because Covid raising prices & I’m not sure how much they were going for normally.
This week I upgraded from an 11inch early 2015 MacBook Air 1.6ghz dual core i5 4GB Ram 128gb ssd to a base 16inch MacBook Pro. Fair to say I’m loving the performance gains and the extra screen real estate!
I managed the newly listed buy it now on eBay and got lucky to find a MacBook Pro 13 2014 for 300 it’s worth shopping and very good advice in this video Luke keep up the good work
I love my MacBook Air early 2015.....paid $231.84 for it and it has 8Gb RAM. Came with a wireless mouse and I have it hooked in to my Lenovo monitor. Great machine!
Bought my 2017 MacBook Air brand new in the summer of 2018. It has served me well for nearly 2 years now and still going strong :) (1,8 GHz i5, 8 gb of RAM and 256 gb SSD). And I reckon it will last me several more years :)
I got a Macbook Air 2018 for a cheap price in good condition some time ago and it's my first ever MacOS device and I'm in love. I will definitely upgrade to Pro one day.
Great video! Heck yeah I'd like to see you max out a 2012 unibody MBP! P.S. let me know if you already have... I can't find the video but maybe you have one and I'm just not looking close enough??
I’m known by friends as a person that fixes things, and in the past five years I’ve had seven different friends with 2011-2012 MacBook Pros come to me with the same two problems: one of the RAM slots is dead and it won’t boot with ram in it, and a broken hard drive cable. I’ve never seen this kind of regularity of issue with MacBook Airs and retina Pros, where the issues are usually water damage and for the Pro the display coating.
I rebuild a 2017 i7-8Gb for my daughter. It had some troubles, and needed a new battery. I got it for a steal because it would not boot with a cracked screen. I still had some stock to rebuild and she is excited, she had a 2010 unibody that was tired. she is now rocking a 2017 i7-8gb-512gb ssd with a new battery.
I got 13 base 11:27 model for bit over 200.00. I5 8ddr3 128gb SSD. Upgraded it to 1TB than to high end board. I7 16GB ddr3 and 2TB. I didn’t know the battery was bad so I replaced it too! It’s a very still Workable machine.
Not gonna lie. Just got a 2020 macbook air and I have a 2013 macbook air and I like the older one better. Way better battery, better thermals, and more ergonomic. The performance is not that much different considering they are 7 years from each other. Anybody feel the same?
Those first-generation MBA's were almost comically awful. Our institute bought a couple of them and everything went wrong: batteries died, the power connection shorted causing the whole case to be enveloped in electricity, and (the most common problem) after a while the display hinge gave up, leaving you with a separate keyboard and non-touch iPad Pro predecessor. It was really a prototype.
man the hard drives in those first generation macbook airs were literal nightmares. they're decent for ipods, since all the ipod did at that time was music, photos, and video, but for OS X, they were pretty unexceptional
Just bought a "used" M1 Macbook Air from Best Buy, the thing had 3 charge cycles on, and absolutely nothing wrong with it. They marked it down $230, an absolute steal.
I have both of these machines...My MBP is my everyday machine with 16gb ram and 2tb of storage across 2 ssd's. My "out and about" machine is the 2013 MBA but i've slapped a 500gb NVME ssd into it. Love them both and will keep them til they die!!
I patched my late-2010 MacBook Air to Catallina, and it's a beautiful 4gb 256ssd smooth running machine. Truly incredible how far this Apple dollar has travelled. I also keep it in like-new condition so it's really a perfect little throwback to earlier computing days.
How smooth does Catalina run on your late 2010 MacBook Air. I’m thinking of patching Catalina on my late 2011 11” MacBook Air 4GB of Ram but I estoy it might run worse than on MacOS. Maverick.
Rocking a Mid 2012 11 i5 4GB 128SSD - for all my digital + UA-camr life... Paid 235 EUR for it - not only is the best laptop I ever had for this price range, it's also unique as the seller was Russian, and the keyboard has Cyrillic prints lol - Great video as usual my friend.
In late 2021 I just decided the MacBook m1 air was worth buying new. Glad I did, I got a base and i have loved it. This screen is amazing and I love how it works with my iPhone and AirPods and AirTag. I’m fully invested. My aunt got that $1800 OG one. She was so excited to show it off. It was beyond cool. I remember seeing the appeal of less/no moving parts. That just seemed like super cool.. and here we are.
my main problem with the unibody mbp is just how heavy it is. lugging it to school makes my backpack really heavy. so I would pick up a MacBook Air if I had a little bit more money.
I enjoy your videos, Luke, and I am subscribed, but I have to say I only understand about one third to one half of what you say......all of the technical jargon just goes over my head. But I still want to watch, because maybe someday it will begin to make sense. I recently bought an early 2015 Air, "refurbished" from Amazon, for about $350. Since I can barely tell one laptop from another, and it's difficult (at least for me) to compare older models, I just bought this on faith. I have a mid 2014 iMac for home, and it generally does what I need, but I wanted something very portable and small to take out sometimes. This Air seems to fit the bill, it came with a "100%" battery, and, while it's not exactly like my iMac, it's close enough. I don't know if I overpaid (for July 2021) but it seemed a decent value. Thanks for all the information, Luke......at least for the little I understand. :)
You can find a good Retina if you look. I just scored a Late 2013 15" i7 2.3 16gb 512gb GT750M. Mint condition, no case scratches, no delamination, 76 cycle counts for $519 via BackMarket (PowerOn was the seller). It was marked "Stallone" quality, but it's really mint and just like new except for a tiny tiny ding near the right USB port.
I have a mid 2012 unibody MBP with a 1TB SSD and 16GB of RAM. It is a bit slow even with an SSD upgrade. It isn't all beat up and still works fine though it is badly outdated
I'm still rocking a late 2010 MacBook Air which is like "as new".... It's still quick and perfect for general work and browsing the web. I still have it connected to my Wacom Cintiq 21UX display. I've taken extremely good care of it and if you were to look at it now you'd think it was brand new! :)
I got my 2014 MacBook Pro with a quad core I7 and 16GB of ram for £200, my dad got a MacBook Pro 2012 with a quad core I7 and 8GB Ram for £160. Im not gonna complain about these prices, considering the 2 deals we got were on Facebook marketplace and I haven't noticed any issues, not even cosmetically, with either laptop. excluding the long process of upgrading the 2012 model from MacOS Leopard to macOS Catalina, but that wasn't too difficult, just time consuming
Bought the 2020 MacBook Air, i5, 8 Gig of RAM, no hassles, love it. That said, I don’t really have a use for it, just bought it because it was shite and briny - it looked cool. Had it 3 months, now on its 3rd battery cycle. It replaces a Toshiba Qosmio 17 inch luggable. Yes, luggable - 10kg with bag, charger, other bits and bobs. The air is small and light enough to co-exist in the same satchel in which my iPad resides. Need a kbd and mouse, got it, need to consume media, got it , use the device as appropriate to needs - and the whole kit and kaboodle weighs less than the luggable. Gotta love that!
Now I’m using a Early 2008 white MacBook with windows 10. I think the 2013-17 Air will be a good Mac to buy until I will earn more money and maybe super compact, fanless and powerful ARM options come out.
I like your content, very nice information and excellent video quality. And I’ll be honest, you inspire me to switch to Mac OS. Hope you do more good videos!
I purchased a mid 2010 macbook pro 2.4ghz w/o ram and hdd for USD 100 about a year ago. I upgraded it to 8gb ram and 128 ssd. It is still perfectly fine until today. This model can handle 16gb of ram.
Hey Luke, I love all of your videos. I repair and resell MacBooks on the side right now, and I recommend checking out Facebook marketplace instead of just eBay to find some interesting and unique deals that works make for some great video titles, such as something like a $50 MacBook that takes a $20 SSD to get up and running. I feel like videos of this nature are fun to make, and would do well. Just a suggestion! I've found some crazy stuff, such as 13" and 15" retinas for $200 with dead batteries, ect.
I'd love to see a maxed out Unibody MBP!
It comes with intel hd gpu! Everything else is great
You’d still be disappointed with it, due to the low resolution screen.

The only issue i will say is the display it does the job but terrible viewing angles.
the Air has always been my favorite design: durable, sleek and very lightweight
Except now it burns due to Apple sabotaging them. A MacBook air ARM based however will be interesting.
I exchanged my MacBook with dvd. Drive and tradition hard drive for an Air because of how bulky and heavy it was to carry around. The Air has been with me since I started college in 2016 & still perfect. ❤️
@@sashapaleologue1234 It doesn't burn, it's just that it's not made for ultra heavy tasks...
Definitely want to see you max out a unibody, it would also be cool if it was broken to begin with and you had to fix it first
Thank you for giving this underrated MBA machine love, not into the unibody Pros though.
Greed is so disappointing.
what were the prices for the 11 inch airs before? i just got an air for $260
Just got a refurbished 16gb 2017 13’ Pro for 330$. Definitely one of the computers to buy from ebay rn on a budget.
Im watching on the 2017 MacBook Air you told me to go for and buy on that stream, I talked em down too $430US and its awesome! And Luke? Id love to see ya boost that Mac.
$430 for a 2017?? that’s crazy good!! good for you!! :)
I love your vids
your one of people The Who got me into
MacBooks. I subscribed to you in 2018 because your humor and
you knew what you where doing
and yes max out a 2012 MacBook Pro cuz that the one I'm watching this on :)
When he said the bezels the size of alabama i started rolling on the floor laughing
Luke 2018: Dont buy the Macbook Air
Luke 2020: hErEs whY A mAcBook air is gOOd vAlUe
OK I KNOW BUT THINGS CHANGE 😂😭
He actually explained that later in this video around 12:20. That was coming from a different perspective when those MacBook Airs we're being sold for over $1,000 so relax.
ȘȚɄƑƑɎǾɄ1oo just watch the video and stfu lol

@@lukemiani If you do the mid-2012 mbp ram/ssd upgrade, make sure you get the i7 version of that mbp. The i5 version is super common, but the i7 version is relatively less common, by a long shot.
I’m still on a 2015 13” i7 Air and it’s my only computer. I got it in 2016, yes I could’ve bought a used Pro but I was a noob and I also wanted warranty and the best battery life, it was amazing how long it lasted brand new and still does
Also: I changed the SSD to a Sabrent nvme and I replaced the thermal paste and got 700 in Cinebench r20 😂
Please do that maxed out unibody! I love your content so please do it!!
😂 I recently bought a MacBook pro early 2013 15 inch for R370. Extremely clean, 8gb ram 250gb storage.. Sweet deal 🤝
Prince_Jamin Processor?
It’s a very still
Workable machine.
Not gonna lie. Just got a 2020 macbook air and I have a 2013 macbook air and I like the older one better. Way better battery, better thermals, and more ergonomic. The performance is not that much different considering they are 7 years from each other. Anybody feel the same?
I bought a 2009 Air last year and it was a great deal considering they were going for 250 and I got mine for 110.
It was really a prototype.
love my mba 2017. i think its the best laptop since the new mba’s even lack cooling.
man the hard drives in those first generation macbook airs were literal nightmares. they're decent for ipods, since all the ipod did at that time was music, photos, and video, but for OS X, they were pretty unexceptional
I won’t be afraid of the screen coating problem everyday this is the biggest value
You can get some great deals on them if you search for a couple of days. I found a 2015 11" Air with 8GB of RAM for only $350!
my main problem with the unibody mbp is just how heavy it is. lugging it to school makes my backpack really heavy. so I would pick up a MacBook Air if I had a little bit more money.
You should do a Hackintosh Build Guide with used parts under like $500. I'm sure it would be beneficial to a ton of people.
I got the MacBook Air 2017 for £471 in very good condition with 2 years of warranty! I’m very pleased😄
Had an specd out from 2012, it was very capable, I'm pretty sure I'd be happy with it to this day
I love my 2013 MacBook Air. I use it for my doctorate program because it has everything I need.
Yes! Make a decked-out all-in no whammy MacBook Pro! I’m very curious about how easy it really is to upgrade those laptops.
Watching this after the new MacBook Air became so good it’s barely different then using a new MacBook Pro
Miss my 2011 core i7 MBA 😭
Hahaha i ust got my 2011 MBA last 2 weeks for 180 usd😂😂 but waiting for my new replacememt keyboard to arrive
I had a 2017 MacBook Air, and recently I bought an M1 Macbook Air. OH MY, 😱 what a difference!!!!!!!!!!!
Same. I just retired my late 2013 base Air for an M1 Air. It’s a quantum leap.
Yes please spec one out, I wanna see how beefy they can get
Year 93 ugh it has no upgrade ability wow
2014 Thinkpad x1 carbon, Core i7, 8gb ram, 128 GB m.2 SSD for $200. It works and looks new with no problems.
I have a mid 2012 unibody MBP with a 1TB SSD and 16GB of RAM. It is a bit slow even with an SSD upgrade. It isn't all beat up and still works fine though it is badly outdated
i just bought a used mid 2013 air for $360 and im using it as a secondary computer and im so happy w it
I'm still rocking a late 2010 MacBook Air which is like "as new".... It's still quick and perfect for general work and browsing the web. I still have it connected to my Wacom Cintiq 21UX display. I've taken extremely good care of it and if you were to look at it now you'd think it was brand new! :)
I already maxed out a MacBook Pro mid 2012 and it runs great. You should do it
I got my 2014 MacBook Pro with a quad core I7 and 16GB of ram for £200, my dad got a MacBook Pro 2012 with a quad core I7 and 8GB Ram for £160.
I still use my 2016 MacBook Air today! It’s a great laptop for everyday use. Maybe next year I will get the “new” Air.
I like your content, very nice information and excellent video quality. And I’ll be honest, you inspire me to switch to Mac OS. Hope you do more good videos!
The TN panel is the reason this was the fastest computer I ever sold
I purchased a mid 2010 macbook pro 2.4ghz w/o ram and hdd for USD 100 about a year ago. I upgraded it to 8gb ram and 128 ssd. It is still perfectly fine until today. This model can handle 16gb of ram.
"i beg u please do not beg a Mac book air " xdddd the last time I heard you about MacBook Air hahahahhahahha
Recently I bought a MacBook Air 2013 with the i7, 8gb Ram and 256 gb SSD. It works just perfect.
A1278 (early 2011) with: core i7 2.7GHz, Intel 1585MB, 16GB - 1.833MHz, 2 x 1TB SSD and works AWSOME doing everything I need.
Yes!!! Max out the mid 2012 MacBook Pro! I have one that isn’t maxed out so I’d like to see the performance difference.
Yeah, I got my 2014 with 8 GB ram and i5 for $350. It has 300 battery cycles. I'm pretty happy with it.
Yes do it PLEASE !!! I have one MAXED OUT it get a bit slow when you have MULTIPLE CHROME TABS, VIDEO & PHOTO EDITING
Ofc you should do a bid about maxing out a mid 2012 unibody
