Mirabel's gift is the house and I can't unsee it. Her emotions were what made the house shake and fall, and it was her emotion of feeling at peace that made the building they built into their home, it brought them all together
Well, Casita was affected by the relationship between family members, when Abuela, Agustín and Violeta were fighting Casita broke more, or when Mirabel disobeyed Abuela by looking into the vision.
And ofc, Casita is older than Mirabel
not really the house. She is the next abuela.
Nah the candle mesnt them to leave town but they didnt so he gave mirabel no gift for her to understand an outsiders pespective so he could make them into leaving
Casita was destroyed by Abuela not Mirabel. Abuela not accepting everyone for who they are is why the cracks appeared. And it was her outburst that destroyed the house. Abuela lost sight of what was important and why they had magic in the first place. It was a miracle that helped her family and town get out of a dangerous situation.

When Mirabel went to open her door, when she was young, she wiped her hands on her dress. When Bruno "saved" her from falling in the walls, he told her that she's sweaty! The consistency of little things like Mirabel having sweaty hands is amazing!!
the details in this movie are amazing! you can also see dolores occasionally cover her ears when it gets too loud

Hearing Stephanie beatriz voice of a sunshine child really just blows my mind. That's just show how well of an actor and what type of voice, character and other things she can play as
A good actor can be versatile in playing many different roles across various different genres. It takes skill to pull of such counter opposites, only a good actor can truly pull it off
I watched the entire movie twice before googling the cast and finding out it was her. I was shook!!
As a Colombian it made me so happy to see how they really looked into our culture. Especially the food, I saw so many arepas, bunuelos, even ajiaco. I was really impressed with that.

I love Bruno. I'm the Bruno of my family. I was the first one to go to therapy and break generational cycles. Not meaning i'm perfect, i'm trying different ways, making me feel like i'm an outsider. So it goes without saying, i couldnt stand abuela 😅 she passed her trauma down to her children, while they should be the ones to "obey". Bruno was made different, because people dont like hearing the truth. Mirabel is the one to break that. I didnt like how she was handled as "oh she's the heart of the family" while seconds before they took family pictures WITHOUT HER. Like.. that hits different.

@@JazzyB9481 thanks love😊 my therapist and bf help me through it. Its slowly getting better or at least i'm distancing myself emotionally. Thats a topic of this movie that was just glanced over and everyone in the cast is like "the madrigal family is so cool". Meanwhile i'm like "yeah so cool they outcasted their only brother and son.. really cool!". Thank you for seeing the damage the madrigals were really doing.

I’m a sixty year old grandma and I loved the movie so much!!!!! The music, lyrics, the characters!!! OMG👏👏👏👏👏 I highly recommend it to everyone, no matter your age, there’s so much love, sadness and happiness in such a beautiful movie that you wish it never ends. Dos oruguitas has to win the Oscar for best song👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

When I heard that Stephanie Beatriz was the voice actor dor Mirabel I was so surprised! I'm happy to see actors/actresses step into a new medium and show their range.

This is why I’m such a big fan of John Leguizamo.
I feel like it would be an amazing twist if they showed "the other side" of living with a gift. I mean, yeah, we have Bruno who sees the future and that's why nobody wanted to talk about him (did he predict bad things about their family/house? or maybe on his sister's wedding because we can see Pepa and Felix in wedding clothes singing "we don't talk about Bruno"). Maybe he disappeared while trying to "escape" of their magic house and his "bad" gift, so he can lose it while living far away. But other members also have this tragic potential.
First, Pepa and her emotional character. Can you even imagine how many times did she hear other citizen's complaints because of her gift? She would just become sadder and that would make the weather even worse. If she or her family want a good weather she has to always keep herself in check. Her daughter, Dolores, has a very inconvenient gift, I bet she doesn't want to hear a lot of things she *has to* hear because of her power. Her brother, Camilo, describes as someone who "doesn't quite know who he is yet". As we can see in trailers, he always shapeshifts to someone he sees at the moment. Doesn't it bothers him? Isn't he afraid that he won't able to shift back one day? I mean, if you don't know who you are and try to change yourself and pretend to be someone else, doesn't that mean you are losing yourself?
The other part of the family, Mirabel's line. Luisa [carries] all the burdens and never [complains]". Everyone relies on her because of her strength. We can see her founding donkeys, carrying bridges and even a someone's house! Does she even have time for herself or does she constantly help others? Her older sister, Isabela is considered perfect. But it's very very hard to be the oldest sibling in the family, because all adults want you to look after young ones. Everyone probably places high expectations on her, which she is afraid not to justify, and therefore she tries to be perfect in everything. But it's hard to be perfect in everything. If you climb too high, falling will hurt you. Julieta, their mother, has the ability to heal everyone with her cooking and as far as I know she is the doctor in this city. Which means she has to cook A LOT. Which means she has to worry about not only her family, but every person in town, to heal them, to listen their problems and everything like that. It's just... very exhausting.
And Abuela. I'm not sure what her ability is and does she has one. But she is described as the keeper of their magic or smth like that, so it's a lot of responsibility. There was a moment in the trailer when someone said that they need to leave their home, and Abuela said that they have to protect their home, their family. Maybe she is too attached to this place and cannot leave it, even knowing that it might be better this way.
Mirabel is the only one who has no power (except her father and her uncle Felix, who surely won't play such a big role). She is the only one who doesn't rely on magic. She is the only one who knows how to live without it. So maybe... it would be better if they lived without magic at all? Maybe they will find out that it will make their lives much easier?
I'm not entirely sure that the plot focus on this side, but it was really interesting thoughts ans I just wanted to share them, hehe :)
Didn't say anything about the youngest boy Antonio, 'cause he just get his gift and he is to small to worry about such things. But if you think you will probably find a reason why his gift can have this "other side" as well. Like. Preferring animals to humans, 'cause animals are more honest, 'cause humans destroy everything and etc.
Should watch the movie. It does get pretty deep into the perks and downsides of being "gifted"

Watched it last night for the first time, I was blown away by how wonderful n emotional the movie was. Still can't stop humming the songs which r some of the best ever Disney has ever had. The brilliance of Lin Manuel is unmatched, so much heart, surface pressure made me cry and is my absolute favourite. So much heart. The movie is wonderful with priceless lessons on life's values. A must watch family film.

Bruno can see the future, so, he can see if something you're getting into will go wrong and that's the reason why you say "silencio, Bruno!" when you're about to do something dangerous. Bruno is literally telling you that it's a bad idea.
This movie is just brilliant ✨, the more I dig deep into it, the more I like it 😍, Disney really put all out when thinking and making this movie 🍿.

He isn't the twist villain or even an antagonist if the Little Golden book is any indication he is the only adult that will actually be helpful. The whole cutting him off thing is playing with how the family and town refuse to talk about Bruno.
