This information is really good. I have bikes with and without dampers. As I get older, it helps with long rides and day trips. Just a note on the presentation of the information...robotic narrations are a little sad. Just no need for it when a human touch is needed for information to stick. Watching this as I just got home from a 100+ ride and came over a bridge in throttle. What saved me? Tigheted my grip and stiffened my arms up maintained throttle and rode it out. Did I shit my pants? Yes. Do I wanna do it again? No. Reason for searching will a steering dampner save my dumbass life 🤷‍♂️

If you ride aggressively then you can add it, or you should discuss with some rider, they can give you some good idea

For two front wheel motorcycles, maybe can hack two of those dampener to other area with other purpose-objective.
For mobile-phone less-shaky(vibration) than a crossbar, a cheap(steering dampener price range) one sided mount may work better than an expensive(crossbar price range) two sided mount.
Kitchen cabinet gas-struts are cheapest, right next to office-chair... for bicycles...

Sounds like you need that looked at. The damper should not lock up. Try removing/disconnecting it and seeing if it still locks up. There may be another steering issue. Safe trails.
