You are the realest thing sis ❤️
Omg thank you for your videos 🥹
I’m back, got a mild relaxer a few months ago.
I relate a hundred times.
My hair grew out so fast, thick and long, and I, literally, couldn't manage it. Like you, I never wore my hair out. You'd only catch my hair undone on my way to the salon.
The only times I dealt with my hair myself were on wash days, which I, intentionally, kept few and far between. There were no natural hairdressers in my area that could afford the patience it required without charging me through the roof.
The only protective style I wore were braids-usually one one-and I wore them for weeeeeks. Ironically, this grew my hair even more (maybe not ironically, but you get my drift). I dreaded wash days, even if my sister offered to help. I would cry, my back would hurt, my neck would ache, my arms would kill, all because of natural hair. A whole day dedicated to just taking out the braids and washing my hair, and another to making it.
It wasn't until I got admitted into a Master's, I decided I couldn't deal anymore. I remember that day clearly; it was as though I was under an influence. I just snipped at the braids very close to their roots. For a minute, I stunned myself. After undoing those sorry stubs for a braid, I was waiting for some emotion to hit me. Something. Regret. Pain. Shame. Melancholy. Anything.
But nothing did. It wasn't after I'm sat on the barber's chair, and he says, "E mecha go m," I look at myself, oil-faced, bordered by these large gold hoop earrings, and I loved it! Last month made it a year, and I, absolutely, recommend, black woman or not. It is just hair, your hair. Have fun with it whilst you can. Don't let these black hair community gatekeepers rain on your parade. They are the split ends you need to trim if you want to be great.
Do I apologise for the long read? Hehe.
Loved the read too
Loved it 🥰 great storytelling! Completely agree
Story of my life literally
Wow. When are you writing a novel please? 😌❤
@@nenyeobichere You're very kind. Thank you. 😘
I relaxed my hair yesterday for the first time in 6 years and I couldn’t be more happy. A lot of people gave unsolicited advice, saying ‘I’m spoiling my hair’, ‘ people are praying for the type of hair you’re about to ruin’ but honestly, I’m so happy about my decision because my natural hair was really difficult to maintain.
I completely made up my mind after watching your video two weeks ago❤️
I really don't understand why people are saying or have an opinion on people's hair. WTH. I've never seen anything like it. People mind your damn business. Geez!
@@octaviawalker823 fr like people act like its their own hair and its so annoying. relaxed hair is 10x easier to deal with and not everyone has enough time to do natural
@@insertname5453 I know it. Relaxed hair is easier to deal with. I rather see relaxed hair versus weave all the way down to the tailbone, knowing it ain't yours. I can't stand that. Especially when they get to flinging it around and swishing it and twirling it. I really be wanting to snatch that mess off.
It's nothing wrong with relaxing hair. I like it. Easier to manage.
Im relaxing my hair next week
Go girl!!! Dont be a slave to your hair...you own the hair, the hair doesn't own you. You look beautiful either ways❤
Wheww love how you put that! Thank youu 🤍
This was very beautifully said.
Do you girl!! I’m all for anyone doing what makes them happy. I hate how some people in the natural community shame or make people feel bad for wanting to relax their hair. I’ve been thinking about it for a while now..
Wish we all could just coexist without shame or guilt or separation. All hair is beautiful, relaxed or completely natural
I with you on this one. You do you, your hair, your business, screw people and thee end!
All I can say is I’m very happy for you. The freedom that comes with a relaxed hair is amaze balls!
Lol for real
Girll 😩🤍
I swear!!
Kamsi has left us, this is so lovely, your hair your choice, love the change. Always here to support as long as it makes you happy. 🧡
Aww thank youu
She has and her choice is beautiful.
“Kamsi has left us”. She’s still here 😌 relaxed or not
I don’t support 🥺
If it was me I would cry all through the relaxing process or someone who drag me to relax my hair I can’t do it
Girl I feel you… I literally bought a relaxer kit the last time I went to the store. It’s in my wardrobe but I just can’t bring myself to do it 😩😩😩 I feel like I’ve invested so much into my hair.
Everybody’s telling me not to do it, but I really don’t care for my natural hair anymore
Then do it babe🥰 it’s YOUR hair x
Do what’s best for you! I relaxed my hair a month ago after being natural for 3 years
No rush Vanessa, it's your decision and when you are ready you will do it. If not, no rush then you don't have to do it. I don't care if you change your mind 1000 times. It's your hair, your business, and your mind.
Girl same!! Although my Afro is screaming no 😂
After almost 5 years of being natural I can’t do it anymore. Iv had more breakage and knots than ever it’s honestly tiring
Enjoy your gift God gave you. Christ hair is like wool also.
I also impulsively relaxed my hair in November 2020 after 4 years. I just woke up and did it😂 Honestly, I've been loving my hair and rocking it all out more than I did when it was natural.
Welcome to the gang sis!!!❤❤
Did it affect any styles you would do if it was natural? Thinking of doing mine but some people are being really negative with the idea
Relaxing my hair has been my best decision so far. The natural hair thing was not so for me but if it’s yours, you do you babes✨
Same here. The day I went to get my natural hair relaxed, it was as though I was under an influence of some sort . I didn’t even mind.
Natural wasn't for me too...I managed it for two years before I relaxed it. I find it easier to manage my relaxed hair now.
Natural isn't my thing...relaxed isn't for me either😂😂😂 so I just switch each year
I like how everyone is respecting your decision, welcome back to the clan girl 🧡
You look so refreshed and your stylist did an amazing job! You go girl! 👏🏾❤️
I feel you Kamsi. You dont owe anyone an explanation. I been natural 16 years and it has its up and downs. The key is HEALTHY hair and im happy your going to professionals. The issue with perms is many people esp in Africa dont do it properly causing extreme hair damage. Like you mentioned your only supposed to relax the roots NOT the entire hair. I wear my hair out alot but since you dont much I def see why you want to relax it cause wigs are annoying. I can only do them for weeks at a time 😂
Naturalista till I die💖💖7 years now
Relaxed mine about 4 months ago too, after 7 years of being natural.
I feel you.
I was mad tired.
I’m just watching ds video but I don’t support relaxing ur natural hair
@@chidimoney9890 u opinion only matters wen its your hair boo
@@chidimoney9890 and who cares about your support😂
As much as I loved your natural hair and I'm such an advocate, I 'm so happy you did what was best for you. You look beautiful
i did the same this time last month, after 8 years! I feel great about it! Welcome to the era Kamsi! Feels good!🧡
I didn’t believe my eye. Ahhhhhhhh, these changes are just dropping back-to-back.
Once again, we are always with you on whatever transition you decide to take.
🥰🤍🤍
Welcome to the club Kamsi 😊😌
I tried natural hair for a year plus and I couldn't handle it. My hair is full and stubborn sometimes even when relaxed but with undergrowth talkless when I was natural. I couldn't deal honestly, went to the salon and got it relaxed and trimmed, never going back, don't regret it. 😌😊❤❤
Love your new look😍🧡…already binged the channel you recommended and I learnt a thing or two already🤍
Wow!!!! Okay so here for it . You did really great with your natural hair . I am here for all the tips for the relaxed hair gang .
Thank for this! After 5yrs I'm over it, and will be relaxing my hair again next month.
I'm always smiling when I watch your videos 🥺
Your relaxed hair is so beautiful 😍
Welldone Kamsi! Definitely no rules. Enjoy every phase of your becoming. The point is to love yourself not what anyone says!!
I saw this coming sha ☺️❤️
Can’t wait to see you rock your relaxed hair
I was natural for over 3 years and I also had issues handling it, was always on wigs and I got tired too. I am happy I relaxed it and I have been enjoying it now, I am sure you will too 😊
For me, there's absolutely nothing wrong with relaxing your hair. One thing though managing natural hair does for you is that it teaches you how to treat your hair well regardless of whether it is natural or relaxed. I honestly would not have turned natural if I knew what I know now back then.
X2 I wouldn’t have turned natural either 😅 it’s been 7 years I’m so tired. 😢
welcome to the team... I have actually learnt some tips so next month am going to try does tips
I'm glad you made an informed decision and it was done professionally
The freedom that comes with knowing there are no rules to these things👌🏾 the same way I felt when I cut my hair and coloured it, it makes me feel more of myself. Happy for you Kamsi💗
Aww that’s beautiful
The hair is really beautiful and you being happy with it is all that matters! 😍😍😍
It's the way you're happy about the hair...Your hair is really long and healthy, and the new look is beautiful
I love your new look, and I can relate in a way..my hair is 4C and although it's too much to deal with, I kove it regardless so I'll ALWAYS have natural hair.
Love all relaxed hair ladies though, I literally share almost all the tips of narural hair with my relaxed hair roomie and after incorporating some, she's so thankful.
Welcome to the relaxed gang. I can remember when I decided I was ready to relax my hair after 3 years. The relief I felt afterwards was worth it. It is possible to have healthy relaxed hair and I realised that watching a number of youtubers like hairlicious.
Your hair is so beautiful 😍
I relaxed my hair after being natural for 14 years and I am so happy!!
Aww yay
Being smiling with you all through.
Happy for you. I'm with team Natural maybe will change my mind but not now.
Welcome to the “relaxed” family, Kamsi.😊
I started transitioning my hair last year but I couldn’t handle it. 😮💨 so I relaxed it again 😂😂
😂😂 just stick to what works for you babe🤍
I regretted relaxing my hair 2 yrs ago. That lasted a year and the straw that broke the camel’s back was the patch of hair that broke off. I was like heck Nawww we goin back natural. To be honest I’m falling in love with my natural hair. The kinks
Welcome to the team girl... I also relaxed my hair recently and I must say it's freedom 😁😍 between your hair is so long and beautiful.
Welcome to the relaxed hair journey and keep up with your treatment
Your hair looks so nice 🥺. I love that little ponytail I’m jealous 😭😍
My natural hair was unhealthy. I couldn't maintain it or take care of it but I kept pushing cos I thought that was the right thing. My hair wasn't growing and I didn't love myself with the natural hair.
The day I relaxed my hair, I was filled with so much joy. My mom and my friends were supportive too.
And I also got people who tried to make me feel bad for it but I'm happy where I'm at now and my relaxed hair is healthy and longer than it was. I'm happpppppppppppyyyy😁😁
Just the right video I needed to watch before relaxing mine😂😂. Btw!!!! Your relaxed hair is so prettyyyyy
Not surprised. Suspected you were going to relax. I agree, if we take good care of relaxed hair it will grow and be healthy. We just need to be conscious of how we handle the hair and the products we use. Lovely video as usual.
Beautiful! Swing it girrrllll!!! Welcome to the relaxed hair lifestyle 🤗🎉 #300
It’s really nice to see that you have gotten the curtains, they are so lovely 😊
I can’t go without relaxing cus my hair doesn’t grow when it’s natural, I love how honest you were about it not being for you anymore
Thank youu 🤍
I’m just glad to see black women wearing their REAL HAIR your hair is beautiful sis ❤ I’m glad you’re happy
Your hair is so beautiful! 💕
It’s the flips for me😂💕 love it. I’m about to start my own natural hair journey I hope I can hold it for long too before I join the relaxed team back☺️😅 love it so pretty and suits you😘
Your hair is so pretty 😍..It’s your excitement for me😂😍
I definitely saw this coming. Still loving the change❤️
Always with you...love that you're happy🥰🥰
This video was so convenient for me, I could relate to every single thing you said, I've had my natural hair on for like 6years plus, and just recently I started thinking about relaxing cause it became too stressful to maintain and not easy to manipulate, and crazy thing is we have similar hair types, lengths and fullness, so this video was super relatable in that aspect, I also became sure as of recent on when exactly I plan to relax it, all in all, this gave me the extra reassurance I needed
We are with you always!!!!!! Still looking great both ways baybeee!!
Aww thank youu 🥰🤍
Some hairstylists will relax your hair and you'll regret ever going to their salon, but this right here is healthy and well relaxed, came out so beautiful. 😍😍🥺❤️❤️👑
Am so excited that your happy and relaxed hair suits you very well
Thank youu 🙈
Wow Kamsi, that’s a bold step, could this me a sign for me 😩 your hair is so beautiful though 😍 love the pony
gurllll all this is you, you always exceed our expections, this is really an interesting series🤭
Welcome back to the team🥂🥂
Welcome to the club! I relaxed mine back in March after 4 years and there's still no regrets! I think society made relaxed hair the bad guy when it truly shouldn't be seen like that. I also went down the rabbit hole with Hairlicious and Health Hair Junkie, and I love that they think of their relaxed hair and their NATURAL hair, because IT IS, it's growing from their scalp, just chemically treated. WHO VEX, LOSS honey you look beautiful 🤍 keep doing you!
I’m relaxing my hair for the first time in 4 years. Because it’ll just be easier to manage. Your hair came out sooo good😍
I saw the video title and I SCREAMED 🤯
Content 🔥🔥
Your hair is beautiful btw❤️
I saw your story on Instagram and I just knew it!!!! Sis left the group chat😍
I knowww that wash felt gooddd, I've been relaxing my hair for seven years now after three days it reverts back to it's natural state😑 I'm tired if I come to Lagos again I'm def going to this saloon, you look so good kamsi baby😍
Awwww.... Welcome to the healthy relaxed lifestyle... As a legend in this lifestyle journey, for over a decade and more, I can tell you that you have made a right decision and the fact that you enlighten yourself with proper knowledge is very important. Welcome to the group chat. I made content about my relaxed journey and tips to maintaining healthy relaxed hair, so I am here to say, you are welcome once again 🤗
Welcome back to the club!❣😌
Oh nooo.. 🥺🥺.. I’m
Happy and sad at same time that you relaxed your hair.. All the same you’re pretty Kam Kam ❤️
I'm going back to my natural virgin hair cause the salons here just don't get the relaxing process right. But, honestly, if relaxer is your thing, do you. It's so much easier especially if the proper techniques are used
Relaxed hair looks good on you😍❤️
Just relaxed mine today after two years of struggling with thick natural hair that I couldn't comb through or style. I got so tired of it and I relaxed it and cut it into a bob with one side a little longer than the other I had this haircut pictured in my mind and I am not a beautician but I managed to pull it off without a salon and I am so elated!
Exactly 2 years of being natural and I relaxed my own 2 days ago. I could hear the sigh of relief coming from my hair because I was really bad at maintaining my virgin hair, it was breaking and tangling n stuff
So glad you went to Taupe! I've seen them on social media for years and the owner has a UA-cam channel. They are real trained hair stylists and use professional products. It scares me when I see boxed relaxer used!!! You do what is best for you and your lifestyle! So glad you got your ends trimmed and your hair looks healthy! We need to stop judging each other about our hair choices.
Thank youu 🤍 glad I did as well, I didn’t want to hear stories so I went with people I trust x
Love this, the most important thing is that you are happy about it…it looks so good 😍😍
🥰🤍
See me smiling from end to end😊😊
Happy for you kamsi!
Omggg. It looks so goood on youuu😍🤩
Super Gorgeous 😍
I love the new look💯
It's lit
I love it!
Asin! I relaxed my hair to last year November after about 5-6yrs of natural hair and I didn't regret it
I just need to feel my scalp better, whip my hair. Do any style I like🤣
I did the exact same thing earlier this year in February after being relaxed for about 5 years. I share exactly the same sentiments regarding hair, it’s literally just hair and if anything, it will grow back tbh
Exactly
The joy is so evident 😂😂❤️
Awww kamsi your hair looks beautiful dear. I have kept natural hair since I left secondary school I think it’s been 6/7 years now and honestly I’m tired of it, I’ve been thinking of relaxing it but I’ve been stalling. This video is definitely a sign to relax my hair 😂😂
Awwww Kamsi❤️❤️🥺🥺 Your is still beautiful as always.
not me waking up this morning to relate so much to this. Honestly, I can relate to getting to the stage where you just want to have enhanced beauty.
Your hair ur choice baby, Life is too hard enough to be dealing with hair stress anything to make your life easier you go for it
I'm excited for you cos I recently did the same a month back.
Can't wait to enjoy this journey with you. 🥰🥰🥰
Aww yay🤍
I relaxed my hair one month ago after being natural for 3 years. No regrets. And I still admire beautiful natural hair.
Sneak peek of the curtains, loveee 😍😍
Welcome back to the relaxed hair team 😎😎💕
Creamy crackkk😁😂
happy for you Biko 😍 freedom is bae because the natural hair struggle is not here😂 I tried it and ran to relax my hair
Welcome to the teammmm!
This is my sign to relax my hair 😭I’m over it as well
What did you do, Kamsi?😂😂😂I loved your natural hair so much. I knew this was imminent though because you’d complained about it a long while. Girl, you look beautiful. Natural hair or not!! Doesn’t change how beautiful you look.
You look amazing!!! ❤️
Wow Kamsi 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Looks really good on you though 😍😍
Really enjoyed watching you being goofy 😂😂🫶🏽
I am tempted to relax mine too, but this is the beauty of being AFRICAN . Do what gives you joy regardless
Kamsiii❤️❤️😩😩😩😩i love your name and no wonder you’re such an adorable human being🥰🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽I enjoy your videos so much🥰🥰🥰Much love from GH🇬🇭🇬🇭
Welcome to the team Kam 🤗🤗
I was definitely expecting this after your last vlog....i just recently relax my 2 years 4c hair 🙂🙂
Girl I feel you. I’ve been natural for so long that my hair no longer holds heat, as soon as the humidity heats my hair is back looking like a huge Afro. Wearing wigs irritates my scalp and now wearing braids are even causing irritation. But I’m ready for a perm
Beautiful before and after. As long as you are happy, we are happy.
