I'm 65 and have a hard time with some of the Olympic lifts, but the accessory exercises you give have helped my a tremendous amount. Keep on keeping on brother. Great stuff.

Great video mate, maybe have a look at Josh Bryant Texas Trap Massacre because there is an exercise for the middle part of the traps and it be of benefit to an olympic lifter.
Another awesome video! If you’re taking suggestions, I’d love a more in-depth video on nutrient-timings; what kind of stuff to eat and when for maximal effectiveness. Thank you for the fantastic information.
On the topic of back extensions .. I don't have the equipment to perform weighted movements in my local gym, so I discovered an alternative using a Bosu ball. I balance on the ball, face down, on my pelvic region. From there, lower my elbows and knees toward the ground (almost a turtling position), and then extend my elbows and shoulders upward while at the same time contracting my glutes and hamstrings to raise my lower body and retain overall balance (almost like a skydiving freefall position). It surprisingly works wonders to keep the entire posterior chain in synch, providing good tension and minimal stress. As you mention, I perform these as a warm-up and accessory multiple times per week. It's a game changer, especially for recovering from heavy deadlifts and back squats.
Wow I'm genuinely impressed with your knowledge of old-school bodybuilding exercises like the zottoman curl and the dumbbell pullover extension! Not a lot of people know of the zottoman curl or pullovers in today's world of fitness (especially the pullover, it is the squat of the upper body). You must know quite a bit about old-school body builders since they also used to combine weightlifting into bodybuilding to develop their strength/ power and ligament/ tendon strength to be able to grow more muscle onto their frames. Also, I was wondering if you would know how to incorporate weightlifting and bodybuilding into a 3x a week full body split. I am not very familiar with programming weightlifting as I have done bodybuilding mostly and really want to get into weight lifting to become very powerful and get stronger in lifts like squats or my overhead strength, and so I can apply this to my Personal training clients once I get my certifications. Loved this video man, I just subscribed and will continue watching your videos! Edit: Also great job at performing the pullover across the bench as it should be performed that way for a better stretch on the lats, chest, and the ligaments and tendons in the ribcage.
Wow. I love your informative videos. Pure quality. No looking back. Thank you so much. I have subscribed and will continue to watch your educational videos. Keep up the awesome work!!
Absolutely love this content. You said something unrelated to bodybuilding that really caught my attention: longer limbed lifters tend to be better at snatches - absolutely 100000% true for me😂 can you explain why that is?
Thanks for the great info and content Coach! As an older lifter and late comer to Weightlifting, I've found the need for hypertrophy work to be very important! What's the background on the t-shirt you're wearing, looks interesting! Thanks again...Big Ten Wrestling season coming up (hopefully)!!!!
Good stuff. The shirt is Above & Beyond. My favorite EDM station to listen to. And yeah man, it's been hard to gauge how to help our wrestlers when no is sure if a season will happen. Hopefully it all works out 👍
Yes Core exercises are definitely important. Check out our core exercises videos to learn how to use them in your Weightlifting training 👉 ua-cam.com/video/DzGszUNMzSg/v-deo.html | Hope you like it 👍
Thanks for the new ideas! Common hypertrophy exercises in wl are the bodyweight basics (pull ups, push ups, dips), rows, flys and romanian DL or good mornings.
You should make a video on bodybuilding exercises for sports such as baseball. I know a ton of us have ucl and labrum tears and maybe bodybuilding exercises could lessen those injuries.
@@kapoioBCS Take an anatomy and physiology class or ask chatgpt or google if you want. Go on... is the core optimized for stabilization, rotation, or flexion? When you're finished googling that, report back here with the results.
i dont understand identity gym politics "oh no i'm a weightlifter not a bodybuilder" is a phrase to justify not completing accessory lifts when every well rounded strength athlete would be incorporating all pillars as much as possible to overall athleticism

Fantastic!👌🥰👍
Are tricep extensions and other other tricep exercises important for olympic weightlifting?
Absolutely! Dips and presses are great!
Awesome video. But the shots of oly lifting in a mask gave me a little bit of ptsd 😅 oof never again

That SA vest made a sneaky cameo there, I like it! Are you from SA?
Nope. But, I coached South Africa's top shot put thrower for a few years and he threw at Worlds in 2019
Very Good 👍
Thank you 👍
Coach, do you think deep squats are bad for the knees?
Absolutely not. We highly promote full depth squats for our wrestlers to improve posture, strength, and mobility.

Cool. My question now is if Olympic lifting could help muscle growth for bodybuilding
yes
Hell yea 'merica 🇺🇸

The back extensions work wonders when you do a weighted isometric hold. Core muscles are optimized to stabilize - not do sit ups or twists.
This is wrong
