The MXR scoops your mids. I used my bassists RV6 for a while and loved it. Picked up the MXR and I’m not happy with the frequencies it takes away from your tone. That was never a thought with the RV6.
You sure make the RV6 sounds heaven. I got the MXR but i am tempted to buy this RV6 for the hall after watching your demo. But Boss's pedals always has a weird feel( metallic like)to it while the fingers are on it maybe becos of the buffer? Whats your thoughts on the "feels" for RV6?
Man I've been looking for a proper reverb pedal for ages. I just want one that sounds clear and not dark. I sold the Blue Sky Reverb for that reason it was too damp sounding. Anyway the Boss sounds perfect which is kind of shocking to me. The shimmer is garbage but I don't care about that effect ever.
@@HickiesMusicStore does anyone stand out to you that would recommend? Im 40 and trying to find out if an old dog can learn new tricks. I also I have an accoustic guitar which is an ornament id like to turn into an instrument.
I have the mxr and I have tried everything to get rid of interference when using at certain venues and at home. I have powered up the pedal with an isolated battery pack and had the pedal on its own but still get all sorts of clicks and hum noises. So much so I have thought about buying an rv6 to replace it. Such a shame because when it does behave its magical... just depends on venue.
Hi hickies music. I am running a telecaster with lil 59- crybaby wah- tu2- mxr reverb- ocd.. orange or50. Putting the tu2 after the mxr seems to helped filter noises. The issue came up on a gig and the sound guy was watching me isolate the fault.. he also runs a audio repair business and commented he had never seen the problem before. 🤷♂️
holy shit, that sound is majestic
Even though the RV-6 is an 'old pedal' (by today's standards), it is supremely musical.
age got nothing to do with sounding good. they still make plugins today emulating reverbs from the 80s
You give justice to these pedals with your playing. I'm sad I sold the m300 because I cannot resolve the high pitch noise
That Squier Tele with the soapbar pickups is criminally underrated!
RV-6
RV-6, my love ! ♥️😽
MXR may got all the clarity and brightness, but RV6 got the soul and versatility
RV-6💪
Such a great pedal. Glad you agree! Cheers - Sam
Just beautiful in love the pedal influence

Will have to have a closer listen next time I try it! Thanks! - Sam
I had the MXR. It was a great pedal with a lot of hidden functions
Agreed! - Cheers! - Sam
The MXR sounded too manufactured, reverb wise. Perhaps it was the settings. Overall, the Boss RV-6 seems more versatile.
Thank you for the comparison. The MXR sounds a bit more natural to me
Nice demo! I prefer the Boss as it sounds more organic where the MXR sounds like it's trying a little too hard.. obviously depends on settings etc.
Sounds angelic bro🔥
Really appreciate your kind words, stay awesome - Sam
WOW BEAUTIFUL.........
Bro I need the tab for this! It’s so beautiful sounding

Whats your thoughts on the "feels" for RV6?
I'm not sure how to express this correctly, but judging by this video: Boss gives more beautiful echo, while MXR gives nicer guitar sound
Personally, no comparison. RV6 all the way!
Boss all the way for me...
The MXR just doesn't sound right.
It's got too much accompanying noise, where the Boss sounds "breathy" the MXR sounds like static.

The Boss sounds as clean, in terms of tonality, as it gets.
Is mxr stereo?
RV-6 may have rivals in terms of sound...but durability? This is a monster tank!!!
will somebody teach me how to play guitar
I have a acoustic guitar but don't know how to play
Have you tried looking for some basic lessons here on youtube Aditya? There are some great teachers here too! Hope this helps - Sam

Hi Will! This is a great bit of advice and sounds like a really frustrating problem! What other equipment are you running on your board?

MXR is more usable
Lots of great modes on board! Thanks so much - Sam
It depends on the player. It may be no useable for YOU, but don’t lose sight of what that really means.
MXR ❤
Got to love the MXR, I think thats my favorite too. - Sam
