I did forget to mention that the SmallRig FX3 cage also comes with a nato rail for the top of the camera that you can use if you aren't using the FX3's top handle.
Thank you for this video. Very easy to watch and I love how you show nice clear close up of the parts. I definitely will consider getting some of the parts for my fx3. :)
Nicely presented, Gerald. If you're using a wireless mic, like the Sony along with the top handle, then you lose the SMAD hot-shoe interface. So I've added a spring-loaded cellphone holder (with 1/4-20 tripod mounting holes) along with a mini ball head on the top handle extension that allows me to clamp and rotate the receiver to a comfortable viewing position and give it a bit of lift above the camera body.
Thanks for the kind words! I like your solution as well. One of my favorite parts with doing rig videos like this is hearing all the creative solutions other shooters come up with.
Noice! Great work on this video and a good-looking, functional rig for the FX3. I've run into that problem with the microphone holders on C100s and C300s--I just wrap the mic with some gaff tape so that it stays in place but yours seems like a more elegant solution. I love that Octava mic, I really want to get one!
Thank you! Yes the Oktava is a great mic for the price. Especially if you get one of the modded ones. Reduces a bit of the self noise and provides a bit of a warmer tone.

Great work! Love the budget options for the FX3

Nice build! How long does the npf batteries power the rig before having to swap out?
