I always wondered if these naturalistic formicariums last longer in terms of mold? I suspect you pretty much need some sort of waste processing insects
They do last longer buddy, cause springtails will eat the molds. The colony on the video are living with a lot of isopods and springtails on Their outworld.on the very last part of the video you can see those isopods.
They are called the CLEAN UP CREW

Hey, I have a question,if you take a large formicarium and make perfect conditions for ants and place it in your house,dp wild ants would want to nest on it?
There's a chance buddy, there should be a food source nearby to be more likely.
Hey D colony I have a question. What if you have to leave your house for days and no one will be in your house, what will you do so the ants won't die out of hunger? Are you gonna put a lot of food and water?
Tbh buddy, I do leave them a lot of foods when I'm gonna out for several days. Make sure they will have enough supply of water, but be careful on offering too much insects, which may cause mites infestation if prolonged untouched, the best food you can give them is a protein jelly cups, dried insect/dry food or seeds, depends on what your colony preferred.
