First, I love your videos! I have a question -- have you ever though of making an ant island... ant nest/foraging area surrounded by a moat?
Yes buddy, the enclosure I used in the video is actually the island on what I planned but as I have said on the video I ran out of acrylic plates so I have use it here.

Thanks for askin buddy, I plan to house a crematogaster specie so I would definitely use an olive oil barrier as this works best for them.

Hey there dcolony! I started watching your vids this week and ive loved your channel! My father buyed me an formicarium last week, and yesterday ive catched a trap jaw queen ant who already put some eggs this morning! I made the hunting grounds with a tupperware and construction sand, and she have goed outside, but after she returned to the test tube. She havent eat yet, when do i feed her?

Great catch buddy! Feed her every 3 days using the Gaster rule, means feed her insects with the same size as her gaster, like roach nymphs or crickets, if it's too big, cut it. They prefer slightly moving prey so it's better if the feeder has legs that's slightly moving but not so strong to injure the queen.

I think the first queen wouldn't be a success queen as she still haven't remove her wings.
You think so buddy? There's a chance but Im still hoping since crematogaster queens is one of the species that doesn't do wing shedding most of the time. On my experience, sometimes workers will be the one removing it later on the journey

You can’t stop it. I know how it is but you have to move your colony in to a new test tube as soon as possible.

They're right buddy, you should move your colony to a new testube to solve the problem. You can look for the short vid I made on how to move colonies from tube to tube.
Hey I have a question , I think my queen ant is gonna have her eggs hatch soon and I crafter he about a month ago, and she's my first fertile ant , and I was wondering if this colony becomes super successful , what would I do if the colony has too many ants? I only have like 2 ant farms that I can use in the future for her, so I was wondering , because a year worth of eggs would a lot
You can put them in a colder place but not TOO cold cause the they die or you can get a predator like a mantis but not too quick with mantis cause then the colony would completely die out so I suggest you buy more farms or put them in a colder place or just kill the ants manually even if it is cruel

Depends on what specie do you have buddy, some don't grow so large, and some grow slow, I have 1 year old colony still on a testube set up.
@@Dcolony I have a suger ant / pavement ant queen, yeah it takes about a month and a week before eggs hatch , at least I think so

They're doing it buddy but I don't think that's consider inbreeding since in their colonies they have a lot of Queens which is unrelated and their alates is just mating inside the nest.

My ants are dark red and their queen has a kinda Rectangle and I'm pretty sure their queen is a little bit smaller than a pharaoh ant queen and the workers are I think are also smaller than the pharaoh ant workers and I don't know if they have Stingers or not and their heads are a little bit bigger than their body the workers do you know what type of ant this is I searched in Google but nothing similar
Btw I feed them live fire ants because nothing else to feed they are pretty picky don't worry they always successfully hunt the fire ants no casualties I always just see some of the fire ant body parts
When I gave them corn all of them are swarming on the corn and apparently they have majors now
Please look for pheidole Parva in Google buddy, Iemme know if they look similar with your ants. I'm not an expert but Its not easy to identify ants without images. Sorry if I cannot help but you can mail me some photos and let's see what I can do.

@@Dcolony thanks but but it's hard in this country because its so hot even in winter it's still little hot even when it's the ant day (where every queen ants flies and mate) they don't appear that much 😢 because its so hot. Only in some places that are not near to my city they appear: (
