My mate once explained it to me by saying imagine you were pushing a thumb tack into a telegraph pole. You naturally get into a position where you’re entire body weight is behind the tack. Now replace with fist. 😄
This your explanation is very well done and easy to grasp and put into practice. Few coaches seem to understand that students (any level) need to sometimes breakdown complex movements into fractions and to slow down. This comes close to a mindfulness excercises. And then you put the pieces back together. A very valuable video for I believe anyone! Deserves more views.
some people say big knuckles on pointer and middle, others say middle and ring. I think it can vary depending on punch but I try to do enough work with bare hands or just wraps so I can get more feel for how I am landing
Use less rotation and more force pushing forward and back Having compromised mobility in any point of the chain will reduce the overall power, but the overall principles should still apply.

I feel like your mate would be really good friends with Jack Dempsey, and that is solid advice for sure!

@@etcetinx Right this makes zero sense to me lol, at least not in the context of punching

A great drill. Will practice it to improve my technic
New way I’ve seen this done. Thanks. I usually throw my weight up in the air from one leg to the other one. Similar to Salvador Sanchez.
Great explanation! You have clarified a lot of things for me! I appreciate your insight. Thank you!

Never learned this only heard putting out the cigarette and twisting your hips and shoulders...
How do you do it you have bad knee's? Twisting my knees like that is not working
Use less rotation and more force pushing forward and back

Bro is immune to upper cuts
Which bro? Gotta see this guy
How much more power can you generate using this technique than just the arms? 20%? 50% ? 100%?
4/5 x ... Just arm is super weak vompared to torso/leg use.
*compared.
This reminded me of nick diaz lol
In the best way I hope!
Yeh your teaching rotating front foot is so wrong in MMA
Wrong.
