My mate once explained it to me by saying imagine you were pushing a thumb tack into a telegraph pole. You naturally get into a position where you’re entire body weight is behind the tack. Now replace with fist. 😄

I feel like your mate would be really good friends with Jack Dempsey, and that is solid advice for sure!

This your explanation is very well done and easy to grasp and put into practice.
Few coaches seem to understand that students (any level) need to sometimes breakdown complex movements into fractions and to slow down. This comes close to a mindfulness excercises. And then you put the pieces back together. A very valuable video for I believe anyone! Deserves more views.

0:30 pushing pulling (first twisting )
1:10 back foot push forward front foot push back
2:10 one foot pull one foot push
2:30 this will not fatigue me

New way I’ve seen this done. Thanks. I usually throw my weight up in the air from one leg to the other one. Similar to Salvador Sanchez.

Which knuckles do you use for striking? Good video

some people say big knuckles on pointer and middle, others say middle and ring. I think it can vary depending on punch but I try to do enough work with bare hands or just wraps so I can get more feel for how I am landing

Use less rotation and more force pushing forward and back
Having compromised mobility in any point of the chain will reduce the overall power, but the overall principles should still apply.

How much more power can you generate using this technique than just the arms? 20%? 50% ? 100%?

4/5 x ... Just arm is super weak vompared to torso/leg use.
