I had left a ZZTop concert...wasn't feeling it...with my brother and stopped at a local bar that has live music. Small little dance floor with a nobody just about to start his set. We ordered a couple of tequilas and some rum and cokes. The musician turned out to be a wizard, it was Jeff. One of the best sets I have ever heard! Made even better by being such an unexpected event. Rest in peace
I never get sick of watching Jeff play guitar, his eyes, i love that he doesn't wear glasses, you can feel what he plays through his eyes.. Yet he's blind.. RIP Jeff, gone but never forgotten..
Criminally under-appreciated guitarist. He has a couple of mild hits in the 80's, and even had an appearance in Road house...... but his success has no bearing on just how good he is.
Everyone think about this , for a small population ( canada) we had/ have some of the best axemen to ever play.......... jeff healey, rik emmitt, Alex lifeson, Phil x, Frank Marino , Brian " Too Loud " McLeod, and the list can go on and on
Definitely in the discussion as one of the greatest guitarists, if not in fact the GOAT. Blind at the age of one, but his disability was not a deterrence.
He was three when he started guitar. Learned to play with it on his lap. Said he can reach notes with his left thumb other guitarists can't. Monster talent. Check out his big hit, " Angel Eyes " .
I hate it when I mention Jeff Healey to someone and they say... "Oh you mean that guy out of *Roadhouse* with Patrick Swayze. I thought he was just an actor" I'm like aaaaarrrggghhh!!!!!!
Jeff Healey and Gary Moore are the reason I love blues guitar. Check out Jeff Healy Band - See The Light and Gary Moore - Still Got The Blues. RIP Jeff and Gary.
The most underrated guitarist in the history of rock. His videos haven't even passed a million views yet. I was so lucky to see him in a bar called bourbon street in St Agathe.
I found 11 Jeff Healey videos that have passed 1 million views: Angel Eyes = 25 million views See the Light = 1.2 million views As the Years Go Passing By = 6.6 million views While My Guitar Gently Weeps = 2.7 million views When the Night Comes Falling From the Sky (Roadhouse version) = 4.6 million views When the Night Comes Falling From the Sky (official video) = 2 million views. Look At Little Sister (with Stevie Ray Vaughan) = 2 million views Hootchie Cootchie Man = 2.4 million views Like a Hurricane = 1.9 million views Blue Jean Blues = 1.2 million views Roadhouse Blues (Doors cover) = 2.3 million views. The fans are out there. That should make you feel a bit better, hopefully. 😁
I had the pleasure of seeing Jeff countless times at his 'hole in the wall' basement club in Toronto. Thursday night's Jeff with his house band and guest artists. Edgar Winter showed up one night. What many people don't know is that Jeff was an accomplished trumpet playing avid Jazz lover who played every Saturday afternoon at his club. He had one of the largest collection of old Jazz records on the planet handed down by his father. He also hosted a jazz show on 91.1 Jazz fm in Toronto where he showcased his Jazz collection. So happy many are now discovering the genius of Jeff Healey
Just scrolling snd found this 3 yr old review.. Always a treat to hear this song. Many say that "See the light, or other songs are his best.. But to me this song is my favorite..
George Harrison once told Jeff that his version of “My Guitar Gently Weeps” was the only cover he liked more than his original! R.I.P. Jeff. I know you, Neil & Domenic are making sweet 🇨🇦 music in Heaven 🤘🏼
I LOVE his voice on this song .... very breathy at times and with a couple of cracks or two on the lower end of his range. And watching his fingers move on that guitar is mesmerizing. He is SO good. All his fans still miss him. RIP, Jeff.
Out of all the Reaction videos that i have watched, this reaction from you two was no doubt THE BEST one. Watching Ms. Beautiful get into the music was nice..and I could watch her move all day and night. Watching you with your mouth wide open and your face not believing what it is seeing..Priceless. I had the chance to see Jeff a couple times in the early 90's and was blown away. Watch the movie Roadhouse...he is the house band in that movie.
The look on your face buddy was the same as when i first heard his cd in 1988, buddy came up to hunting camp(northern ontario) and said hey you gotta listen to this, i just saw him at a club in Toronto. Got in the truck and blasted See The Light...i was hooked for good...I am glad you got to feel his greatness the same way i did.. RIP Jeff
In the 80's, 90's there whas an explosion of bluesrock music, with jeff ,gary moore, frank marino, srv .... i picked up my guitar when i found out about jeff and gary, altough they already where legends before they became legends... i learned a lot from them, but most of all i learned to learn, not to copy. And thnx to these guys, i did found my own style. 4e gratefulness and respect. Check out more of those legends....
Love it when people watch Jeff for the first time. I was listening to him back in the 80s and one of my friends had a cassette tape of him and later when I saw him play it literally blew me away and still am .
Jeff is from my home town of Toronto Ontario Canada. I had the pleasure of seeing Jeff play in his own club with Bryan Lee a blind Blues guitarist from New Orleans. It was a night that I will never forget, ever! He went on to play trumpet in a jazz band. Truly missed!
Jeff Healey impressed me in 90-s when i 1st heard and saw him performing and his cover of While My Guitar Gently Weeps inspired me ever since. He is so good in any song he plays thats it even hard to listen to him for long. I mean you get so much emotions right away so its like one-two songs from him and you ready to go accomplish whatever you need to accomplish. I am so sad that such an amazing talented man had so many horrable health problems and died so young. I have no idea if anybody else can ever reproduce the style of his guitar-playing and even in his short amount of time spent with us I think Jeff will be appreciated by many upcoming generations.
I think being blind also probably helped him to play well musically. He's hearing sense is probably better because he doesn't have visual connection when he's playing and he's focus is in the sounds. He's playing is incredible and emotional. Singing of course as well.
Jeff died at a young age, yet he left a great musical legacy. Many people are unaware that he was a collector of old and rare jazz records. He had a long run as a radio show host of a weekly three hour jazz show on Jazz-FM.
He was a awesome person to see live towards the end of his set he used to jump up from his chair but he knew how far to go on stage awesome rock/blues player very well missed R.I.P. JEFF
Way back in grade 7 or 8 here in the Toronto area I saw Jeff play at a battle of the bands and some of my friends jammed with him sometimes. This brings back a lot of memories. I was also lucky enough to see Jeff play at this club in Toronto (Healey's) years later just feet from the stage. I love watching yall's reaction on this. Thanks for this. Cheers.
Jeff was great friends with Patrick Swayze they were in the same film Road house you need to check the film out when you have time to chill great post .
One of the most Amazing people that's ever lived ! Canada ! You should be very very proud of this ICON right here ! No one like him and I don't think they will ever be ! First time I saw him play...I went bizirrk ..…I just couldn't even talk for a pretty good while 😂 So sad he passed away . Sure miss him !
Travis, did you have to pick your jaw up off the floor?! Suzie just looked in complete awe the whole song! I've seen Jeff (RIP!) live a couple times (I live about an hour outside of Toronto, his home town, and he frequented our area enough time - especially with Blues festivals!) He is the REAL deal - the licks he pulls out, coupled with the 'feel' he gives the songs is just incredible (which lends to the fact that blind people have to use their other senses - he exemplifies that!) There's so many tracks I'd recommend checking out. See The Light, Angeleyes (really beautiful ballad), they do their own cover version of While My Guitar Gently Weeps, which is wonderful. One time in concert they did a cover of Sunshine Of Your Love (by Cream), which absolutely ripped!! You can't really go wrong with Jeff - I wish he were still around to share his insane gift with us!
Road House - The Movie: Jeff Healey played a mean guitar in that film and I immediately bought the sound track to that film. The cd is still in my car! "When the night comes falling" comes to mind straight away. Thanks for the reaction, loved it.
Thanks for mentioning Jeff's smooth, sexy blues voice. He never got enough props for that, either. Love love love him. He should always be on the list of greatest guitar players ever.
He was phenomenal, as was / is another great Canadian guitarits Colin James - they both played with SRV and did a live duet together on acoustic guitars. Colin plays just about anything he's done jazz, blues. , big band, and raunchy rock
ANOTHER piece of candy from the 80s! When you think you can't do it, let the back to the future line "You're a slacker!" play once in your head & remember Jeff! ;-)
Great reaction video, you guys! You are fun to watch because your appreciation for Jeff is so evident -- written all over your faces. So - thanks. This is my favorite video of Jeff. He was in peak form here -- and, as you say, his VOICE was just PERFECT for this great blues song. He had a tough life, health wise, and was gone WAY too soon. My oldest boy played guitar, and was a fan of both SRV and Jeff. Since he passed, I like to think he's up there jamming with SRV and Jeff.
My wife and I had the pleasure of catching him live in Calgary Alberta...best seats in the house...front row, center stage....WHAT A PERFORMER. ...He does not sit for his full show, he will blow you away, checkout some of his up tempo stuff. PEACE
What a beautiful soul! Fought cancer most of his life...I choose to believe he is in peace, pain free and Playing with SRV and Eddie Van Halen right now!
He should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!
Observe a guitar lesson given by a master - and topped off very nicely with one of the best voices ever!
Jeff Healey, to me, is one of the best guitar players in the history of the world. RIP Jeff!
Two words.....Road House!
One if greatest 80s movies ever
Jeff may have not gotten all the accolades he deserved but believe me when I say he is a national treasure here in Canada.
Arguably the best guitar player ever. Even Stevie was in awe of him.
This is so incredibly strong.
He is one of one. Feel it or realize You are dead inside
I never get sick of watching Jeff play guitar, his eyes, i love that he doesn't wear glasses, you can feel what he plays through his eyes.. Yet he's blind.. RIP Jeff, gone but never forgotten..
It is fascinating.. I'm pretty sure he has prosthetic eyes.. just so it's not an empty socket.. Yet his face is still expressive.
@@creinicke1000you are correct. He was given prosthetic eyes. They had to remove his eyes to fight the cancer.
Been listening to Jeff Healey since early 90's, RIP!!
Live From London is thE best concert I've seen by Jeff Healey band
The filming of it is so well done
Jeff was a bad man! Definitely one of the top 5 blues players of all time. And that voice?! LEGEND!!
First time I've seen you locked in like that Suzi Q.. 😁🔥
Criminally under-appreciated guitarist. He has a couple of mild hits in the 80's, and even had an appearance in Road house...... but his success has no bearing on just how good he is.
The mild hits down south were huge hits in Canada
Everyone think about this , for a small population ( canada) we had/ have some of the best axemen to ever play.......... jeff healey, rik emmitt, Alex lifeson, Phil x, Frank Marino , Brian " Too Loud " McLeod, and the list can go on and on
Definitely in the discussion as one of the greatest guitarists, if not in fact the GOAT. Blind at the age of one, but his disability was not a deterrence.
Incredible RIP Jeff.
you should see him play the horn look up his bar in toronto heallys great voice great knowledge of music
His ‘limitation’ actually contributes something that makes his playing truly game-changing
He was three when he started guitar. Learned to play with it on his lap. Said he can reach notes with his left thumb other guitarists can't. Monster talent. Check out his big hit, " Angel Eyes " .
You need to see him and Stevie Ray Vaughan playing together!!! EPIC!!!!
Much rather that ride car withem!
Yes! Great performance
That is so amazing I watch it once a week.....lol
Facts!
Stevie Ray Vaughan once said Jeff Healey was the greatest blues player he ever met.
One of the "good guys" for sure. RIP Jeff.
Music is what brings this world together you know all music brings us world together I don't care what it is it brings it together
A good Canadian boy love him
Jeff and his sister would come and hang out at our town bar on a Saturday and he would sometimes get up and play with the house band, pretty cool
Verry good smash-song from Jeff Healey! He see now the light..RIP Jeff!
The soul in this man’s playing and singing still blows my mind after hearing Jeff when he first came on the scene in the 80s R.I.P 🙏
I hate it when I mention Jeff Healey to someone and they say...
"Oh you mean that guy out of *Roadhouse* with Patrick Swayze. I thought he was just an actor"
I'm like aaaaarrrggghhh!!!!!!
Jeff Healey and Gary Moore are the reason I love blues guitar.
Check out Jeff Healy Band - See The Light and Gary Moore - Still Got The Blues.
RIP Jeff and Gary.
My top two favourite players
Jeff, Gary Moore, SRV, the music they left us with, but also what still could have been.... just pure brilliance.
The most underrated guitarist in the history of rock. His videos haven't even passed a million views yet. I was so lucky to see him in a bar called bourbon street in St Agathe.

Been to Bourbon street. Great bar, valet parking when I went. Met Wayne Gretzky there and he was hammered :)
Lucky you
Jeff Healey was absolutely amazing. It's so unfortunate he left us so young at 41.
That there's God-given bro...
Love u guys reaction to one of the greats, very beautiful and respectful and I'm sure JH is sending you kisses from heaven..

I heard 27,000 ( in 1989 he had 11,000 78s alone). And he knew where everything was.
The look on Travis's face through most of this reaction was priceless...
Just scrolling snd found this 3 yr old review.. Always a treat to hear this song. Many say that "See the light, or other songs are his best.. But to me this song is my favorite..
Read his bio, his health problems (plural) were just unbelievable and he still played like this
OMG..!!! AWESOME PERFORMANCE BY ONE OF THE GREATS! RIP JEFF...awesome reaction guys..yall are the best!
George Harrison once told Jeff that his version of “My Guitar Gently Weeps” was the only cover he liked more than his original!
R.I.P. Jeff. I know you, Neil & Domenic are making sweet 🇨🇦 music in Heaven 🤘🏼
Jeff Healy duets on the Walter Trout song “Working Overtime” and I have never heard a slide guitar played like that EVER. RIP, Jeff
I LOVE his voice on this song .... very breathy at times and with a couple of cracks or two on the lower end of his range. And watching his fingers move on that guitar is mesmerizing. He is SO good. All his fans still miss him. RIP, Jeff.
Rest In Peace Jeff Healey......😪
A guitar god he will be missed
I visited his club in {HEALEYS} in Toronto a couple of times on evenings that he was performing. All i could say is MY ! MY! MY!

He is really one of the best, yeah. He plays jazz trumpet too!
