It's a blues standard popularized by Albert King and covered by everyone, this is for me the best even though Santana's version is great too (from 1968 Live at the Fillmore)
This is my favorite of Jeff's live performances. Of course his guitar work is ridiculous, but his VOICE! I love the huskiness/rasp of his voice and the little cracks as well. He was SO special. We still miss you, Jeff, and you haven't been forgotten. RIP, sweet boy.
I just want to thank you, Jamel_AKA_Jamal, for turning this 66-yr-old Blues fan to Jeff Healey. Somehow I managed to miss this gentleman when he was still with us. My bad.....
I cannot believe I never went to go see Jeff Play as I live in Toronto. He lived and played in Toronto for years but I never once thought about going to see him live. Sadly I missed out.
Had the privilege to see Jeff live back when I was in high school in GA. Hands down one of the greatest guitarist of all time. And of course the Roadhouse pun Dalton: You play pretty good for a blind boy.
@@itzel1735 ua-cam.com/video/QT-D75P9-EE/v-deo.html Just him and his band, no guest stars. There may be a version that you mentioned out there, but most versions I've seen/heard have been just him.
Just loved his vocals and his guitar playing was just outstanding! Miss him. Ya know, he didn't even look like a blind man too me. So amazing, he made that guitar sing!
I was driving back from Nebraska to Colorado with a car body I bought on eBay. It was dark and I pulled a random cassette out of my case to stay awake. It was Jeff Healey. I learned the next day that he had died. So sad. Saw him live. :-(
Ok, so let's start off with how YOU like Jeff's music. I can tell that you like ALL DIFFERENT kinds of music and it shows with your movements and your ability to feel the beat and the ARRANGEMENTS. Most, people don't understand this but most just listen to music. Being a drummer, I can feel it, and I see all the changes and the flow as YOU DO. You must play an instrument but I am like you in that I just love all kinds of music. I'm not just one genre of music. I clicked on you, because I wasn't expecting that and yes I stereotyped you so I apologize for that. Love your analogy of it!! He was massively underrated and should be HUGE in the Rock n Roll hall of fame
Jeff Healy was amazing, Stevie Ray Vaughan discovered him and was an encouragement to Jeff. Watch their video of them doing Look at Little Sister together, FIRE. Jeff's band was fantastic too! SRV also was an inspiration to Jonny Lang and Kenny Wayne Shepard. They carried on the SRV sound!! So glad there are videos to watch of Jeff Healy Band.
He was a great! Proud he was a fellow Canadian. Check out his See The Light and also Confidence Man. He also did one with Stevie Ray Vaughn on TV. All are on UA-cam.
Hi Jamel, this is a cover of a tune by "The Velvet Bulldozer" Albert King (1923 - 1992) and fun fact: the line " There is nothing I can do, as you leave me here to cry" sped up is the "low" riff for my all time favourite tune "Layla" by EC. This tune is also covered by SRV and the one and only Gary Moore 🤩👊👍🎶🎸🎸🎸 All the very best Ray (England )
Jeff Healy was in the movie Road House and he announces on the mic, the name is Dalton, my nephew was named Dalton his birthday is Wednesday, he passed in July so to hear Jeff Healy's voice and singing is bittersweet now, but glad to hear it overall, and this song just brings out your soul feelings
I saw a clip of an african lady in a village playing an old beat up guitar the same way , which was awesome to , shed put most guitarists to shame, & piano players , maybe its the way to play , that was a great video
I believe this was a cover of an Albert King song; but the chord progression is well known from other tunes, like "Tin Pan Alley"-- Players often used the same progression and just wrote their words over it.... Like Patrick Swayze said to him in "Roadhouse"-- "...not bad for a blind boy".... Blessed Be, & Peace, BFAM--
There are many great versions of this song. The Healy cover is nice. I highly recommend the original by Albert King and the mind-blowing cover by Gary Moore (studio version).
@@DavidBMaas I was fortunate enough to get a table at the Slippery Noodle in Indianapolis when Tinsley and his group played there and years later at the Railhead Saloon in Las Vegas. His live shows are amazing.
@@StoyTheOld I saw him perform in Gainesville FL about maybe 4 times in the late 80's when he was still touring widely. Tinsley Ellis is hands-down the best small-venue performer that I have ever seen/heard. The way he uses the entire room as his stage (and sometimes plays while walking right out the door and down the street, not missing a note the whole time) is genius and spectacular showmanship.
Jamal I love your reactions and your appreciation for Jeff and other greats. I beg you to do a reaction video of Jeff performing a live version of “All Along The Watchtower”! You may find Jeff do something differently that you may not have seen in his other videos! ua-cam.com/video/Ah5Hs770twM/v-deo.html
Here's another genre for you to explore Jamel. In the late 70s, early 80s two-tone arose, which was a blend of ska, reggae, dub and punk. Please react the The English Beat and their song Too Nice To Talk To. Don't be fooled by the little guy who looks like he can't dance - he is the one laying down those groovy bass lines. This will leave you wanting more - so you should then try their song Mirror in the Bathroom. You cannot stay still to this music. Official videos for both are recommended.
Music is sounds. Sounds are vibrations. Good vibrations hit your soul on a cellular level. Some hit your soul on an evil level. IE the Travis Scott Astroworld concert. Many who went saw satanic entities flying about. Also felt the evil. This is how the music industry manipulate people. 70s and 80s music was before that time of manipulation. This is why so many of today's generation are so angry all the time. They are manipulated by sounds and sights. Ever noticed how music back in the rock generation never had purple light shows at the concerts? Purple is sadistic. The music industry has set it up this way to manipulate. I really appreciate you reacting to my generations music. There is a huge difference! 432Hz is your DNAs healing music. Turn all your music into 432Hz to heal your DNA. Jeff was an absolutely fantastic talent. Thank you for promoting his legacy.
Feel so blessed I got to see him at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay. Lost him way too soon.
A true inspiration. RIP
So sad he passed away so early, i love his music

I got to see him live a few years before he passed. Just a small little gig at the local waterfront festival.
Nice to see Jeff getting some love after all these years
Jeff Healey...one of my favorites and gone too soon.
Jeff Healey is in my top 3 guitarists of all time. Now younger generation this is what I grew up jamming to ! Don't get any better than this.
Canadian legend.
I love all of Jeff Healey's music. This is my favorite performance.
I watched him and SRV together, and you could see the admiration SRV had for Jeff's talent.
Love Jeff, have seen him live , was a spiritual experience... good to see you loving him too, a great man RIP
What a gifted soul Jeff Healy is! God blessed this man and we got to enjoy for a small glimpse!

Saw the Jeff Healey Band as the opening act for Steve Earle and the Dukes at the Cotton Club in Atlanta many moons ago. Incredible!
Jeff was a great guitarist and vocalist. This is a fantastic blues song.
Dude is a legend. Inspired us. Classic canadian player!
R.I.P. Jeff. Loved him in the movie roadhouse.
Jeff also did a cover of George Harrison's 'When My Guitar Gently Weeps' that was near perfect.
Well he had Harrison and Jeff Lynne guesting on the track, so there was that extra boost of some serious talent. :)
