0:30 you can just click on the layers and select that layer then on the right under the move button there should be a line with triangles on the sides to flip the layer rather than using the stretch tool. It’s much easier in my opinion.

They flip over eye I use.
The shading and eyes thing, I usually just make an general colour use air brush and set it to the way that I like, pick an few saved and blend and them it gives an nice look to it

Instead of doing what you did with the eye, use lasso on the eye like you did but then duplicate that layer and you can flip the eye when you open the window
