Tip, for skin NEVER EVER blend using blur, and don’t shadow with black.
Shading with black looks good tho
non-coloured artists are screaming…
I mostly use blur for a effect that ppl do for draincore or sumth
@@dongpow It honestly depends on the art style like if you’re going for hyper realism then u can use black, just don’t use black for ALL shadows.
If you do the blur tool right, it can work.

The pixelation setting really helped me a lot, I was always frustrated with how blurry it looked and now I see it how I’m used to drawing!

This was good but I love the procreate one sense now that I have procreate
I used ibis paint since I started art it’s been 4yr and 8months since I started and I love doing sunsets and background stuff + I used to edit Gacha characters but my home button is gone and now I draw on a broke ass tablet

Blur blur blur blur is kind of a tedious/painstaking process. I do use blur, but all for the sake of creating soft edges for example on knees, forearms, and elbows. using blur literally on your entire piece kind of ruins the image of having form (especially if you're going for semi-realism/anime style) and as an artist- it doesn't make you look confident. Learn where to draw your shadow and in what shape and way would you draw it. You'd only be able to decrease the risk of using blur all the time if you're confident with what you're doing. Ngl when i was still a digital artist rookie i spam blur, all because i had a vague plan on where should i put the shadow and how should it look like, but then seeing the processes of several professional anime digital artist and comparing their results to my own, it immediately made my art look bad.
TLDR: Be confident in your shadows, as well as in applying highlights. Be confident as an artist. Using blur is not bad, but unless you're doing a hyper-realistic/3D-style art, i dont have any word for that for now. But given that the artstyle of these artists in the video were mostly anime/semi-realism, i personally think its not recommended to spam blur on your art.

IF YOU ARE IN PROCREATE SELECT EVERYTHING AND TURN ON THE BICUBIC SETTING IF YOU ARE IN IBS PAINT THEN IDK SORRY :( also I just realized I was in caps lock but too lazy to rewrite it lol
