Fun fact.... When System of a Down started their journey together, they set themselves a goal to make 5 albums and then call it a day. They all agreed that it would be the best way to keep from getting lost in the fame and fortune that the music industry promotes, and it would help them concentrate on the 5 albums to be the best they can be. To make sure they don't end up doing it for the money but to always do it for what they stand for as political activists with a voice 😍 and that's exactly what they did. No other artist or band in history can claim they have accomplished the same.
I've been a system fan since I was in High School and I FINALLY got to see them live for the first time ever this past weekend at the Sat. L.A. show. I had to get PIT tickets and I was way upfront. Out of all the shows that I've been to, this was by FAR my favorite. I absolutely loved the whole show. Daron freakin killed it in his solos and when the crowd played Radio/Video the whole crowd embraced each other like we were all friends and just started dancing, it was soo bizarre to me that we all connected on a different level like that, but soo much fun. I will never forget it. You gotta catch them live because we never know if they will tour ever again. I am completely happy I made it.

Actually... pretty much every album is. SoaD was next level first time I ever hesrd it. Theres only a couple aongs on Hypnotize/Mezmerize I don't love, but I still dont skip them. Toxicity is a masterpiece too.

@@barnabyssjones I always listen to any bands albums with the notion that they are arranged to be a single work in themselves. Like a story or theme. So I almost never skip songs when I'm going for a whole album. The songs I dont care for just dont make the big shuffle playlist of everything. Mesmerize/hypnotize tells the same tale from opposing viewpoints pretty much, so its almost like a rock opera. There are a few songs that are annoying though, for sure. They can't all be Zingers.
Gotta say, I've always loved P.L.U.C.K. from the self-titled album. More a showcase of the band and their message than just Serj. When the drums first kick in is maybe my favorite drum beat ever.

SOAD is one of those bands choose a song and go.its gonna take you for a ride, listen to sugar. I do believe out of all the album there is no filler songs just killer songs with meanings left open to your own interpretation. Like chop suey dealing with suicide. To genocide and so on. Together they are unstoppable, I say that to say I still have hope for a full new album but it's hard to follow mesmerize and hypnotize. Anyway it's great to see such a polarizing band from back in the day get such acceptance still from young to the older group that were even against them.
