In 2019 my son graduated from high school alongside active members of the KKK and a young man whose first and middle names are “Nathan Bedford Forrest”. (If you don’t recognize that name he’s the founder of the Klan.) My neurodiverse, lgbtq+ family fit right in. (Sarc) It was a nightmare.

I commend Julie on her realization that her behavior needed change. You can visually see the change as it is happening inside her. You can see that she is becoming aware of her ridiculous behavior and by the end of the episode had prompted her family to change their behavior. This episode brought me to tears!
I love how Julie talked so much crap, and made it clear how she didn't care who she offended. When Pepper called her on it, at the party, however, she was so upset and said Pepper was wrong. I think the party left her suddenly having to think about how she was coming across on TV. The vindictive comments about the money and implication she was going to screw them over were how she'd have done it if not for thinking about how she would be viewed. The thoughtful spending and even her comment to her kids about change at the end were all, imo, her trying to save face and all bad acting in the same way as her shaking hysterics when she got home.

The way she desperately tried to rewrite what happened after being confronted over her ignorant views, putting all the blame on Pepper for “bringing up what she said” when she broached the topic of their disagreements completely unprompted. Claimed Pepper wasn’t listening whenever she pointed out that was what she was doing, and then when she did get the opportunity to speak, just repeated herself over and over until Pepper got exhausted. Picking fights and acting bewildered when anyone bites back. Must be a nightmare for her daughters.

My incredible 9-year-old son has Down syndrome, but that's not what he is. With our Isaac, after a brief period of "fear of the unknown," we felt like we hit the baby lottery! He is perfect in every way and blesses everyone who is lucky enough to meet him and receive one of his famous hugs. My biggest fear is not having a child with a disability, it's having a child who would bully a child with a disability! My head pounded and tears pricked my eyes with each word Julie spewed next. Thanks for cleaning me out of tissues Julie. At least the world can now see what an insensitive, intolerable, rude and uncouth woman I've ever seen, and I'm a conservative Christian/Jesus Freak!!! As of 2021.... Pepper passed away around 2019/2020, I'm not sure how. She and Judy were still together until the end. It was a very sad situation and everyone could tell they were very close. As for the bigot, Julie Chase is trying to get a photography business together, but is always reminded of how she behaved on the show.
I know when Julie first came back everyone was really angry with how she behaved and that people around here still remember it and talk about her, so I'm honestly not surprised if she is still having trouble. X.x My ex worked at a grocery store she went to at the time and even just when she'd go to get groceries people would recognize and avoid her when this first happened. 😔 Sad to hear about Pepper, her and her family seemed so nice. At the end when Julie breaks down and wonders if she's a monster and if her family will want her back- that's a good moment for self-reflection. It's never too late to see we're on the wrong path and change our view, opinions, behaviors. I pray that her self-reflection led to genuine positive change for her and her family.

Both of the women (of the lesbian couple) were very kind in their feedback to the husband and wife who they were each spending the week with. They were both such good models to me, because I may have been more confrontational and judgemental, which would have been me acting just like the straight couple's family dynamics. Instead, the women gave their feedback in a way that DEMONSTRATED kindness, empathy, compassion, acceptance, etc., which of course, is much more effective.
I will say this: Most blatant Arrogance like this comes from extreme insecurity, and the way she fell apart when she showed herself to be a monster does show that insecurity. She felt like a small person, and blew her self up big to try and compensate, and then it backfired on her big time.

Living in Central Florida, I know many Mexicans that work in orange Groves and Ferneries... they have pride, respect, they're clean the clothes are nice , they feed their families and take pride in their cars. They're always clean as well as your homes and clothes.
I say this, really, because they don't like to take anything from the government. They work hard and long hours make a lot of money doing that work that they do and they'll spend it. Anyway just my observation ever many years having many of them work for me and everything else

I think the party left her suddenly having to think about how she was coming across on TV. The vindictive comments about the money and implication she was going to screw them over were how she'd have done it if not for thinking about how she would be viewed. The thoughtful spending and even her comment to her kids about change at the end were all, imo, her trying to save face and all bad acting in the same way as her shaking hysterics when she got home.

Claimed Pepper wasn’t listening whenever she pointed out that was what she was doing, and then when she did get the opportunity to speak, just repeated herself over and over until Pepper got exhausted. Picking fights and acting bewildered when anyone bites back. Must be a nightmare for her daughters.

He is perfect in every way and blesses everyone who is lucky enough to meet him and receive one of his famous hugs. My biggest fear is not having a child with a disability, it's having a child who would bully a child with a disability! My head pounded and tears pricked my eyes with each word Julie spewed next. As of 2021.... Pepper passed away around 2019/2020, I'm not sure how. She and Judy were still together until the end. It was a very sad situation and everyone could tell they were very close.
As for the bigot, Julie Chase is trying to get a photography business together, but is always reminded of how she behaved on the show.
I know when Julie first came back everyone was really angry with how she behaved and that people around here still remember it and talk about her, so I'm honestly not surprised if she is still having trouble. X.x My ex worked at a grocery store she went to at the time and even just when she'd go to get groceries people would recognize and avoid her when this first happened. 😔 Sad to hear about Pepper, her and her family seemed so nice. Both of the women (of the lesbian couple) were very kind in their feedback to the husband and wife who they were each spending the week with. They were both such good models to me, because I may have been more confrontational and judgemental, which would have been me acting just like the straight couple's family dynamics. Instead, the women gave their feedback in a way that DEMONSTRATED kindness, empathy, compassion, acceptance, etc., which of course, is much more effective.
