Poor Rodney has a learning disability called dyspraxia. I can tell that for a fact but he's undiagnosed and doesn't know it. It's not really his fault. He's found someone who will help him. Funny cause I was wondering if he had it when he had trouble combing his hair and wanted help and I was watching while making dinner and didn't see a lot of it now I'm watching and he got lost going somewhere he's driven to 100 times like I do and yeah I know for a fact he has it. He's not just lazy.
I think when this show was filmed I was also in the US visiting relatives in Indiana. I'm from England. A few weeks later i was back in England and this show aired there and I watched it back then in 2004. There's something about the summer of 2004 which triggers a certain nostalgia x
Wow! Drew reminds me of a gay teenager who doesn't feel comfortable with himself so he's a jerk to everyone around them because he isn't getting the emotional support and guidance that he needs. He needs someone he can talk to about his feelings. I suggest a therapist...
Drew has a really cool room, I love the purple carpet and the galaxies. Also no wonder Drew acts wild, his dad gives him zero attention and even forgets about him when driving the kids to school so of course he's gonna want attention, who wouldn't in that situation. His douchey wanna be alpha of a dad probably also knows he's gay and that's probably why he also treats him that way. He does seem like the type of father that would rather have a stereotypical jock for a son rather than a theater kid. Fathers like that seem to only care about status, it's like they're compensating for something that they lack downstairs lmao
Why do parents that tolerate behavior like this big son abusing his siblings as growing pains!?.. Are you tripping this big kid is a danger n what kind of useless father is that guy...he has no control over his own son who is calling his little sister a stupid bitch man that car would of pulled over n he would have gotten out of my car indefinetly. I blame the dad completely! The dad treats him completely different and of course Drew felt this along time ago so of course he is full of anger! He plays favors to his other son and that's wrong! Can't blame the kid because this is the way the dad made him.
Wow, WTH is the deal with rodney? Never mind...After rodney admitted to “borrowing”, as if he’ll return the money, $350 that was the final confirmation that rodney is a failure.
He's literally a drama queen. He's flamin. This concept kills me that they think, act, and want to be a woman usually BUT he doesn't prefer women, and doesn't like vaginas sexually etc also the flamin the type call women "fish" referring to their vaginas.. so they hate what they want to be. It makes no sense. The same with the "Butch type" gay women think they are men and act like a man etc but they hate men and are not sexually attracted,or just plain ol attracted to men period. This comment is not to be malice or homophobic,it's a real concept I've thought about and pondered about.

Exactly what I thought! Even if they were under a bridge, starving he says they would still be happy- NOT This man needs to grow up a bit in the world of reality!!
I can’t believe either of these men are married. Especially Rodney..putting a bug in her soup, and taking his child’s money. I hope she doesn’t leave him a penny because he is obviously terrible with money.
Arthur wants to control his wife and everyone else but can't control his son, Drew. His behavior is unacceptable, in the closet or not. Arthur can say what he wants about the new mom but her kids are respectful. Rodney is not bright and needs to grow up. This episode makes me so happy I have always instilled in my children we love them no matter what. It's ok to be gay. Straight. Crooked or purple.... it dosent matter as long as they are who they are. So sad for Drew.
Watching this makes me look back and love my father even more (if that’s possible). I am gay. My brother js not. My dad was a big tough jock yet he never once pushed me or treated me differently. Thank you, Dad, for allowing me to be me.
46:32 When I realized the Messina family lives 20 minutes (Minus LINY traffic, which sucks big time) East from my house off the Southern State Parkway! OMG! Massapequa and Hicksville! I knew that accent was familiar. We all however, do not sound this way. LINY is a great mix of many different cultures, with many accepting people. I am very proud of that. This fam, was a bit too closed minded when compared to the real population here. These folks we know as the big properties with bigger mouths. That boy hopefully since this show, partied at the Roxy before it closed in NYC. During this time back in the early 2000's, it was very hard for kids to come out around here. Let me tell you! I had tons of pals I aided as a young 20'something, towards their freedom from their condescending fam or friends. Let that Freak Flag Fly Drew! Poor kid is so stressed out...
Not sure my parents would be so keen about me marrying or even dating a 'man' would couldn't set up a canopy, and forgot propane twice. They damn sure wouldn't have him living in their house at 35.
While I went out to work, my wife stayed home and cleaned the house, took care of the kids, did the laundry and cooked the meals. I helped put when i got home. She did that all by choice and she did a great job. We have been married 29years. Very happy. You have to respect your partner, not treat them as slaves.
If dad accepted that Drew is gay and he showed him love, he wouldn't fight with his brother. He's obviously hurt because he isnt loved and accepted like his little brother is. I hope he's doing ok now, he's probably 28 to 30 yo.

This show is sooo filmed in 2004. Both homes have the old big cube shaped computers before flat screens and ipads came out. In pictures and videos it looks like 2004 stepped back in time and became 1997 again for a year. X
I don’t get when the dads get upset and say “this is my house, my territory, she’s not gonna tell me what to do” when the new mom says they’re gonna start living by her rules. You agreed to do the fucking show, what did you expect!
Ugh my mom used to “borrow” money from me. I didn’t get paid for chores or an allowance, so my only money came from birthdays where extended family would send appx $40/year. I eventually got a job at 13 and made an additional $20/month (the rest went to music lessons). So by the time I had a couple hundred in the bank my mom would always ask to “borrow” $20 here and there, keep in mind back then $20 went further than it does now. Eventually I realized she wasn’t paying me back and began making her keep a ledger, sign her name and date. She got so mad once she pricked her finger and signed in blood! 😓
wow...took your son's money instead of getting a job.... and laughed about it..... I hope their son learned to hide his money from the people he is supposed to trust the most....yet clearly can't!!! Shame on him!!
good friends rock! I agree and I don't think it was for the show either. I would hope any money the kids get from the show is put aside in an acct his idiot dad can't touch. It literally disgusted me that he bragged at the beginning about not having a job and mooching off everyone so when him taking the kids money came up I really wanted to slap him silly. Although I did laugh at him being in law enforcement because he says he wasnt doing it because he couldn't follow the law. Yeah that's it Rodney. Not that you're too dumb and useless to make it thru the academy 😂😂😂
I think this is my fav reading spouses episode ever! Even more than the Pilek/Bowers episode which I initially thought was my fav. I think Jeniffer’s kids seem really down to earth and sweet and they do seem to be a close family. I’m not sure if Rodney was working at the time but he has in the past so they may not have always lived with Jeniffer’s mum and they might have had their own place in the past. The boys seemed quite happy stopping there at the time though.
Drew is TERRIBLE. He claims he is self-sufficient, but his mother does everything for him and his dad provides well for him. I feel sorry for his siblings and parents.
I love that old-fashioned 1940s/1950s tradition: Man goes out and works, provides for the home, kids go to school, mom stays at home, cooking, cleaning, takes care of the family when they're home. Yep. That's the life I would enjoy having. I was born in 1981, both my parents worked, and my mom sometimes didn't get the weekends off, so we didn't get to see her much unless she was home after work or home for a full weekend which was rare. My dad flew out of town sometimes for business trips, so we sometimes didn't get to see dad much during the week, but he was always home on the weekends. I wish I grew up in a house with the old-fashioned way of life. I love that shit.
Lol so do I. Unfortunately that kind of tradition is frowned upon nowadays. SAHMs are mostly considered lazy these days. I used to be one but got tired of the criticism so went back to work.
All these Trading Spaces families that end up with a mom that smokes , always treat them like they're stepping outside to Rob someone and do some meth i😂🤣
The guy that got lost seems so sweet he just needs to have the drive in him to take care of his family and take head of household. The other man needs to calm all that shit down and go to therapy
Kaysee Coward shocking! Lol NOT!! Honestly she and the mother in law are also equally to blame for Rodney's behavior. They both coddled him along and let him be lazy and useless instead of making him man up and act like a husband and father.

@@trueCrimeGuruYes Thank you Doctor, for diagnosing someone on the Internet that you don't even know. HE IS EFFING LAZY!
It wouldn’t occur to me to put cigarette ash in someone’s pool. Wow!
Cave woman.
I'm a smoker and I wouldn't even do that. 🤢
Just no
Right? Who the hell does that, I've never seen such disrespect.
Definitely just for tv ratings. Lol
Boy, that “I wanna work for Diddy” commercial hits different now
How can we ignore that granny waa playing dead in the pool 😂😂😂
"playing"
I think when this show was filmed I was also in the US visiting relatives in Indiana. I'm from England. A few weeks later i was back in England and this show aired there and I watched it back then in 2004. There's something about the summer of 2004 which triggers a certain nostalgia x
We met at 17 and he stayed at 17. I can't with either of these men...
When the little sister asked Drew " what's wrong with you" when he was dancing dramatically 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂oh golly😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
“Fix me a drink”
Me: “you got hands right?”
FOH
Too bad they didn't have any baby formula. I'd make him a drink....a damn bottle!! 🍼
I love Rodney
I know he's lazy and a not very self aware but he is light hearted and full of love.
He tried to kill Jen and went to jail
@@tiddyslammer2376 wait was this after the show
@@tiddyslammer2376 yeah didn’t he say dhamer was a nice guy
@@tiddyslammer2376 where can I find the source? I tried googling him and I couldn’t find any thing

Watching him some more yeah no he’s a nasty pig. “Fix me a drink” while I have no job and sit on my ass all day.
The : I want to work for 'diddy' commercial has not aged well
Princess Drew😮 the word she couldn't find was flamboyant...
Drew looks like James Charles but from before he was out and about
She said OUT AND ABOUT 🤣🤣🤣
Wow! Drew reminds me of a gay teenager who doesn't feel comfortable with himself so he's a jerk to everyone around them because he isn't getting the emotional support and guidance that he needs. He needs someone he can talk to about his feelings. I suggest a therapist...
definitely
My son was difficult at 12-15 then come out gay & settled into himself.
I like that these have the commercials in them. Weird that at that time I would get annoyed by them. Now it's like comforting?
Same. I love the nostalgia
It’s nice to actually have commercials at the commercial break instead of UA-cam randomly cutting in right in the middle of a scene.
Except the Proactive Commercials!
He's effeminate n angry n emotional physco! I blame the mother big time
I blame the dad completely! The dad treats him completely different and of course Drew felt this along time ago so of course he is full of anger! He plays favors to his other son and that's wrong! Can't blame the kid because this is the way the dad made him.
@@lisaowens2040 He still should be disciplined when he takes it out on his siblings. If not by the father at least by the mother.
@1993 What are you talking about? How do I feel? Your comment is confusing.
@1993 I looked on your channel... You actually believe if a male child wears a pink shirt that means they will grow up to be gay? 🤦
Drew is such a drama queen doesn't want to go to the aquarium cuz it's juvenile I'm an adult and love the aquarium.
Fish are our friends
he’s def gay
Probably wanted to stay home & have his boyfriend come over
*nice looking people are nice people* nooo
They're the ones to be cautious of.
Wow, WTH is the deal with rodney? Never mind...After rodney admitted to “borrowing”, as if he’ll return the money, $350 that was the final confirmation that rodney is a failure.
Putting a fly in the soup was beyond childish and pathetic.
I hope she gave the kids 25k each wich he isnt allowed to touch.
Putting a bug in her soup must have hurt her feelings. She actually teared up.
The Proactive youngsters on the commercials are now buying anti-wrinkle cream.
rockman fan I’m 32 and definitely using anti wrinkle cream - not many wrinkles yet but that’s the point! Lol
@rockman fan I was buying wrinkle cream in my 30's. I either have very good genes or the wrinkle cream worked. I'm 58 and have very few wrinkles.
😂😂😂
🙋🏽♀️ yes we are
I’d be so mad if someone flicked ashes in my damn pool. Lady is crazy.
She was terrible. A lazy slob. She wasted away the opportunity to make a positive change.
Drew is a ridiculous drama queen. And those pucka shells..... 😬🤭
It was a different time 😂 dont judge us
I used to rock those back in the day,
He's literally a drama queen.
Ell King you have absolutely ZERO understanding of sexual orientation and gender identity. PLEASE educate yourself.
We ALL wore them lol
I understand she smokes but at least use a empty can instead of flickering your ashes around
Lmao
Love the way she says Rodney's not to bright
Kathy is complaining about her new husband and how he doesn't do anything but her husband doesn't do anything neither.
No. Her husband WORKS. They have traditional gender roles, meaning he brings home the money and she takes care of the home. Rodney is lazy
@@PrincessZaire100 I take care of the home and my partner provides and my partner would never demand of me, talk down to me, or allow our kids to refer to me as a maid. He says we are all human beings capable of doing things for ourselves, no one person should be treated like a maid and that’s so true.
@@mysticmel6506no you’re right that Auther is an ass, but he at least works and has his own business. He actually contributes to the home. Rodney is a lazy butt
That poor kid drew, he is so on the spectrum. I’m really shocked no one knows. Mood swings over the top, attached to his one favorite person in the family, extremely book smart, socially awkward
He is just gay … and not accepted by his father .
@@giulia28 this
no he’s just gay lol
Jesus Christ, Exactly...I am shocked people aren't picking up on this.
@@thekenzieandkennapossibly on the spectrum too but 100% gay
"Go yell at her!"
I DARE you to try that. 🤣
Seems like the 2 husbands are very similar.
no one is happy when they r starving to death.
Milhouse Van Houten Rodney said some quote along the lines of “even if we were homeless, or starving to death, we would still be happy”
If you were starving to death, you wouldn't have any energy to feel any emotion really.
Lioness Richie that just further proves Rodney is a moron
Exactly what I thought! Even if they were under a bridge, starving he says they would still be happy- NOT This man needs to grow up a bit in the world of reality!!
Rodney is the funniest husband on trading spouses 😂 😂
Manchild 😂 i couldn’t imagine being intimate with him
I can’t believe either of these men are married.
How are you broke and have been living with your mother in law all your adult life. Smh
I can't believe rodney let that little old lady scrub the grill
I can after seeing his behavior prior to lol
This episode makes me so happy I have always instilled in my children we love them no matter what. It's ok to be gay. Straight. Crooked or purple.... it dosent matter as long as they are who they are. So sad for Drew.
Betty King’s home is still a cute place and it also has a swimming pool which is big luxury where I live.

Wow....
Just seeing this ad now from seeing it back then....
The butterfly 🦋 effect is something else.

The fact those parents are letting Drew hit his younger siblings pisses me off.
Yeah but the dad treats him differently i think he’s disappointed that he’s gay. Which is sad
Kathy reminds me so much of Mariah Carey! Their voices are so similar.
Barbara Walters reminds me of Mariah Carey
Because they are both from the same area of Long Island ny
Omg I realize that too now. They do sound kinda familiar Glad to hear someone mention Mariah Carey. She’s still my fav singer and I listen to her songs most days but no one talks about her anymore. Occasionally they play her songs on Englands heart radio 90s tunes.
He disquesting and lazy...i feel so sorry for his real wife..and than he makes the kids do his dirty work appently his wife felt she could not do any better that she has to deal with that shyt..wow
You agreed to do the fucking show, what did you expect!
thank you so much for this im dying laughing over and over
Kathy is cute lol 🤣 "hehe I'm not a freak!"
47:21 the ol’ raise and wiggle of the flip phone. Took me back lol

The mom sounds like Mariah Carey
40:19 "You get a lot of Ford's?" 😂😂😂
The furniture in that house is a flashback from tacky 80's furniture 😢😮
4:31 "We currently live with my mother in law." DUDE SHE *DEAD*
All these Trading Spaces families that end up with a mom that smokes , always treat them like they're stepping outside to Rob someone and do some meth i😂🤣
Ignorant
This was one of my favorites. I love the blonde lady.
The guy that got lost seems so sweet he just needs to have the drive in him to take care of his family and take head of household. The other man needs to calm all that shit down and go to therapy
Drew is the type of person that we all need in our lives !!!
Jennifer and Rodney are divorced now
Really how u know lol she probably got tried of his ass..
Kaysee Coward shocking! Lol NOT!!
Honestly she and the mother in law are also equally to blame for Rodney's behavior. They both coddled him along and let him be lazy and useless instead of making him man up and act like a husband and father.
