Absolutely love when you explain the mechanics and literally every detail of things as you go through it. One of the biggest reasons I watch is to learn about game mechanics. As we all know there's a huge learning curve. Also things are always being updated.
get a squadron on the Mississippi. It can keep the Northern armies from using the river to travel. I have a small fleet (5 ships) ported in Tennessee. I have use it to disrupt Federal advances down the Mississippi and up to Nashville.
I agree with u turning feuds off they really get annoying and you don’t feel as if all the feuds make the game better cause we don’t even know why they end up feuding most of the time
I guess it’s up to personal preference. I’m good at the battle stuff I just suck at resource management so I prefer an easier more and more casual game where I can have most of the economic and material stuff done for me and not have to worry about minor details like feuding so I can focus on scoring military victories across the fronts.
Military 1 & 2 are important so higher subsidies to unlock the weapons. Plus draft 1 to move contracts to 3 years. That way the militia 1 completion is all you need at start
Yes. Diplomacy 1 is probably the most important to arm your army early though. You can get 50,000 Lorenz rifles in the same time it takes to get 10,000 Springfield rifles.
@@snacko30 What do you mean x4 the cost? Ordering 50k Lorenz is $36M versus 50k Springfields for $30M. Even then, delivery time is 150 days vs 575 days. Maybe if you parse it out in small orders to build standardization, but then delivery takes even longer. A man with a Springfield/Lorenz is basically 2 men with mixed muskets, so you are going to be paying for it one way or the other... unless you are fine with the enemy owning your capital in Spring 1862.
I'm so excited for this new campaign. I wasn't as excited when you first started with this game, but this game has come a LONG ways. I think the economy facet of the game needs some tweaking, but overall very fun!
Chris, The issue with live streaming the game as I see it, is the tedious admin taking up much of the time in each episode- Doing recruitment of units, selecting uniforms, typing in unit names in, selecting locations to build industry etc. However allowing people see the battles live will show the people just how good the battle simulation is.
I think periodic videos such as this for housekeeping maybe good. they probably would have to be short though. I think most if not all of the fighting and campaign should be on stream. I think this will be an interesting series of livestreams.
@@blacksmithking4587 I agree. These videos need to be put up, especially as the game is constantly being updated. I havent played in a minute and I am holding off until they get the economic mechanics down as they are daunting.
If you ever wanted to try a campaign where you maxed out how much manpower you have as the Confederacy, a combination of Slavery to the West, Apostles of Disunion, and southern Industrialization or Alliance with the Natives is a good combination. it gives you lots of recruits from the off map locations and even grants you the Indian territories, Missouri, Kentucky, and Virginia as additional territories to the start of war holdings. it is a really fun campaign and you can get pretty close to fighting 1:1 against the Union armies even later in the war.
That is absolutely gorgeous interface.. just beautifully made game.. fabulous.. I am drooling just seeing the flow of the beautiful battle map seemlessly flow around the battlefields and region..
Very good first battle dub, I was worried why you kinda left your left flank out to dry by holding its own but it held which allowed you to assault the opposite left
Very interesting. I am running a video-replay with the exact same settings for difficulty and Aggressiveness (started back in 1.06). I have Old Dominion instead of King Cotton, since I didnt go for European intervention at all. I think I am finally breaking the Union now in 1864, and might get Lincoln out of Office, but the campaign has actually been challenging so far. However the tactical battle-AI is very sub-par, and I am looking forward to see how this goes!
So when I play and the popup screens come up or clicking on any new ones, it's to big and I don't get to see the X to clear that screen, what am I doing wrong
Hi Chris couple of months since I followed your videos. Great to see you back with the CSA. Upgraded my rig plus with the new updates it flows nicely. Have tried going back to Total War historical games but something just pulls me back to GT:TCW it is aditictive. Now that travel is back on hope you and the family get an opportunity to come into Scotland, know you were trying for that as lock down hit. Stay Safe
Is it true you recruit 'Brigades' in this game, rather than Regiments? Maybe it's pedantic of me, but I think it would be better to recruit regiments, be able to name them, and allocate them to brigades as you wish.
Yes you recruit at the brigade level but the developers have stated they don't really feel like doing regiment level outside of historical battle scenarios. My guess is that it would become way more cumbersome for the AI to manage individual regiments during large battles and the map scale seems not large enough as well.
What? Abolish the thing that was integral part of the identity upon which at least the deep south was rooted upon. That nullifies the reason why the south seceded in the first place.

The gunshots are surprisingly soothing to my ears.
I've listened to a few of these series in the background for that reason 😂

Thanks for the tip!
Outnumbered? Noooo, if you ask McClellan you have over 100,000 troops!
Lol if you ask McClellan you never have enough troops
I was just thinking about the old live videos when the game came out I’m happy they are coming back and I’m also happy to see the face cam!!!
I agree with u turning feuds off they really get annoying and you don’t feel as if all the feuds make the game better cause we don’t even know why they end up feuding most of the time
I respectfully disagree. I like the feud system. I think it just needs to be improved and provide more info

Cleetus stole malcolms pot pie, so Malcolm want's to fued with Cleetus. This is what I tell myself. It's something dumb like that :)
This channel needs more recognition!

Very glad to see the CSA back on the march !!!!
Hurrah
Glad to see you again. 🙂 Great channel!

I JUST FINISHED YOUR LAST CONFEDERATE AND UNION CAMPAIGN, AND I COME TO SEE THIS! SUCH A TREAT! :D
Excellent series, just started playing this game lots to learn
Love the “battle star” concept.

That’s why I did this first episode prerecorded. Most of the recruiting will be done before the first live stream

Wow, that didn't take long! On March 10 your credit rating was already down to BBB-.
"To win this war as the Confederacy, we'll need British support. To get that, we're going to abolish slavery."
LMAO This game is absolutely wild.
Its just a circle of insanity.
i am using Elevated agressivness all the time too, seems best balanced.

General Lee after the bloody battle at Leesburg: “Well, they had us in the first half not gonna lie”
"..You already gained the proud position in future history of this, our Second War of Independence!".
sorry might of missed it been out of sync for a while when r the streams gonna be?
great start well generaled
No I finally get a face to the voice ... ty
I have this game, but have not played it yet. I need to do so.
Hey, if you ever think about playing a new game, look into Rise of Flight. Its a WW1 Air sim and I think it might be something up your alley.
You should run a contest for non patrion members to get a unit
Great idea. I'll have to keep that in mind and do it soon.
Also I reckon auto manage ur buildings cause all of it may get to much it especially is for me
Patterson vs this Lee fellow? A nail biter perhaps? 😂😂😂

Patrons can name their own commanders?
I feel like you spent way more money than you needed to by not waiting for the subsidies to accrue before building those buildings
ah the old AI ghost army glitch. Where they just march non stop through your lands lol

It's a game. Anything is possible. Nobody has to necessarily follow history *exactly* as it happened.
I really hope you answer because I've been trying to figure out out
Wait how did you get all these pre names brigades?
