@@fishin_da_hood5020 grenades and and grenadiers have been around a long time since the pike and shot era. They looked more like cartoon bombs as they were basically explosive cannonballs with fuses that soldier would light and throw at enemy lines. That grenade however is the first one that didn't have to be lit using a fuse. Love dragon man but he's not very historically accurate and is heavily biased towards the American perspective of things

That's not the first hand grenade, I know in a previous video you showed the textbook. But it's wrong, unless it's talking about that specific grenade either or it's not the first combat hand grenade. First hand grenade was from like the 16th century. Why do you think we'd call some units for example in the Colonial Era, "Grenadiers" who had the big fur hats and carried grenades. The Civil War wasn't fought only over slavery, like you mentioned. It was over state rights mainly and money for example the North putting tariffs on European goods so Europe put tariffs on imported cotton.
Other than that its a great display and takes a lot of passion and I'm sure it is hard to remember ever little artifact that you own. So hats off to a cool private museum

I am a member of the Sons Confederate Veterans and I think this is awesome. We also partner with the sons of the Union are Northern counterparts. The main cause for the Civil War for the South was the states right of secession to govern themselves and also the north was putting a extremely high tariff on the south. Slavery was a secondary issue. Look up Jim Lumber Jim Lumber was a black child that Jefferson Davis during the Civil War he unofficially adopted him because he was getting beaten by a black adult. And to get the child his last name now he wouldn't have done that if the war was truly fought over slavery. Abraham Lincoln didn't say the war was over slavery in the beginning during the start of the Civil War Lincoln said the war was about preserving the union and that is all he didn't say that it was over slavery until the middle of the war.

If I ever get out your way, I'm coming over for a look. By the way, Lincoln didn't die at Ford's Theater. They took him across the street and he died in a private home there.

I'd definitely include Stonewall Jackson in those portraits.
I can't wait to see the American revolution display. I read they met in beer halls so it would be nice to see a beer mug or bottle if it exists. Also the American militia uniforms and British.
I read Grant kept his slaves even after the war. More states tried to join the south too. There's also the 500 dollar bill and 2 dollar bill.

Fun fact in the opening days of the war both sides used blue uniforms because that's all the confederate volunteers had and the standard uniform was untill the confederates began using grey

Andrew Jackson was the 7th president and served two terms. Andrew Johnson on the other hand, was the 17th and served one term.

4:48 - Did Dragonman really say "General Custard"??? I will pretend I just misheard him.

8:27 Andrew Jackson was the 7th president of the U.S., not the 17th. You could be confusing him with Andrew Johnson who was the 17th president.
