Thanks! I was having this problem with a PL18 and Ftr10 receiver, your technique worked flawlessly and relieved my trepidation after getting a great deal on ebay, that I might have purchased a faulty unit. Not so! Thanks again!
Well there you go :) glad the video helped you out and yep.. that back and forth search sounds familiar so I thought a video on it might help a few people :)
The newer receivers with bind button will go into upgrade mode if you hold down the button, power the receiver while still holding down the bind button for another 10 seconds. After 10 secs it will go into upgrade mode and show the same kind of flashing like in the video.
@@DutchRC yeah, you can find it in the manual but the Flysky manuals are not the best. From what I remember though, you have to connect the PL18 to the computer (I guess NB4 is the same). On the computer you have to start a little program (receiver updater) which you have to download from their website. The computer runs the update over the PL18 which sends the update over the air to the receiver. Quite complicated but it worked well
@@hape4 yes.. I assume the RF module in the 2 radio's is mostly the same.. For racing it is a Must to be abler to run the setup in low latency (so without telemetry).. that goes for things that fly as well as for cars :)
@@DutchRC Yes the low latency is best option for that. Most of the times though I'm running the 12ch high secure connection on my planes as I don't need superduper low latency. Remember the PL18 is really low latency already in 18ch mode. On UA-cam there is a Flysky video for FW upgrade .55 on the different settings where the high secure connection is used for drones that are flown into difficult area's. While I never had a connection fault with this set, the extra security is nice to have as most times 12ch is more than enough
Great video although I do not have an NB4. I have a PL18, no binding problems but I cannot get an altitude sensor to work with the FTr8b receiver. Despite frequent requests via Facebook and Messanger I have had one user say he can do it but despite trying his method I cannot get the sensor to show up on the screen. Flysky have been no help. They offered to send me some software "to fix this problem" but it never came. Have you had any experience in this regard? The FTr10 and FTr4 are easy to connect to sensors.
Howdy Don, as you know/saw I also have the PL18.. great radio but the level of support (or lack thereof) has pushed me into switching to the Frsky counterpart... I do wonder what kind of software they could have ment.. Surely you are on the latest possible firmware? If not: that's where I would start.. I have used sensors with the PL18 and those worked (voltage mostly).. never used the altimiter :$
@@DutchRC Thanks for your reply. Today I received a reply from Flysky, I needed to set a rx channel to ibus-in which I did and the sensors are now working with the FTr8b. Happy days.
@@dongrant5197 Ohwww well GOOD of them to reply ofcourse! :) did you then also have it set to one-way comunication? Anyway.. glad to read you got it sorted :)

Extremely helpful instructions.Thanks so much
Glad the video helped you out! :)
and thanks for the compliment
Thank you! This solved my issue! Was driving me crazy trying to figure out what was wrong. Almost thought I had a bad receiver

Thanks a ton. This video got me going again
Good to read the video was usefull to you!
Haha! it worked!!! I always thought this second receiver just was broken! Thanks
There you go! Haha glad that worked out over there

It works!! Thanks 😀
Good to read the video is still helping people out 😎
thnkx for the vid brother! do you still use that PL18 now you have the new frsky radio?
Ha good question :) hmmm NOPE! :P nice radio but the X20 is more fun to use (better screen for one)
Thx so much! You saved my day!
No worries Simon! Glad the video helped you out

Excellent! thanks for that addition.. It had to be Something like that :)
Are the receiver's manual clear on that?

You can choose different protocols with PL18. Super low latency 8ch, classic 18ch or even more secure 12ch connection.

Awesome, dude! Great info, thanks! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks brother :) Things good there? Over here the weather doesn't allow for many video's but that's ok :)
Cheers and stay safe as well!
Great video sir.Do the remote have to be plugged into a computer to update the receiver or is the firmware stored on the remote?
thanks mate :)
nope.. the receiver only needs to be powered.. the firmware is sent wirelessly from the radio to the receiver
@@DutchRC thanks sir👍
Merci super, ça marche aussi sur le "FGR4Sv2" je l'ai fait et çà marche, encore un grand merci.
You are welcome! And thank You for that feedback! :D
Good info 👍🏻 cold and wet here in Denmark to 😅
Thanks up there :) No snow where you're at?? Wish we had some snow over here.. far better then constant fog :P
Cheers! :)
You just saved me Thank you sir

Thanks man! I appreciate that :)
Saved my bacon brother !!!! Thanks
Glad the video helped you out Dave! :)
thx man nice video :)
No worries man :) glad it helped some people out :)
Mine will bind. But the radio controls nothing still. I don't understand
that's odd..Not seen that happen before.. You are sure you are using the correct channels on the receiver?
