I agree. Actually I think being hard on ourselves and setting high expectations is the best form of self love. “I’m better than this” is self love. Feeling “bad” or shame is natural and helps us grow♥️
You DO NOT have to stop being nice to yourself. You have to love yourself enough to understand what's the best thing for you and what needs to be done for your health. Being obese, being shinny, as a human being you have the right to do whatever you want to live your only life. The right thing might be losing weight and live it freely with a healthy body, but that doesn't mean that you have to do that, because it's your life, and so your choice. I personally think that forcing someone to do the right thing is paradoxically the worst thing you could do. Let people be whatever they want to be. Some will end themselves and die in their couch in their sweat and their tears, but that's just how they chose to live, and you have no reason to feel guilty about it. You'd have to feel guilty because of a lot of things more, otherwise, and at that point that would be you the none who's not living your life good enough.
The challenge right now is I know I’m the problem. Viscerally aware that everything that has lead to where I am, is my responsibility. The thing is though it feels like im trapped in a cycle, I believe I know what to do but failing and/or if seeing a way out is very bleak. I don’t know how to get out
I know exactly how you feel, I’ve been there so many times. Keep pushing. The best advice I can give is honestly read the Bible and surround yourself with likeminded people who care about you. Keep your head up and take it one small step at a time 💪

Exactly
@aidanwhitsitt Then what you said isn't right. Quoting the Bible is useless, just like telling people not to be good to themselves is useless.
I was needing this. Thank you. I'll save this video for every time I start to fall in a "self-pity" state of mind.
Awesome! Glad to hear it!
Great message :)

Do you have any takes on issues with stoicism?
Not really, I’d have to do some more research into it, but I like a lot of the philosophy
Okeey now let's get married
