This was an excellent video. I am 100% against cutting holes in classic cars, but you can't reverse the stupid engineering of the Jaguar fuel pump system. The pumps fail early, and after 20 years in the rust belt, I was unable to disconnect the fuel lines from my 2003 tank despite the best of intentions and time. I suggest the Dremel method of cutting to make a more sanitary access panel which likely will be needed again in this cars life. I am also going to tape a sign to the tank, so the next owner will know the panel is there and won't struggle trying to disconnect the fuel lines like I did.

@@XJJesse I also took the alternate route! The real job requires you to unplug the tank from under the car witch is very hard. And the pull it out. I just pulled it out enough to fit my hand in and Changed it. Very risky! But it worked 😂

@@XJJesse I removed the fuel tank on my XJ40. It is very, very, very hard to remove the 2 hose fitting from under the car, right on top of the diff. When this car was built, they clearly didn't had in mind that the fuel tank might have to be removed one day. The method in this video is the best way!

My x308 vanden plas, it took me hours to disconnect the fuel lines on the tank from underneath the car and only 15 minutes to replace the pump lol. I couldn’t cut up my rear deck like that, but there was times that I wanted to give up and cut it up lol

Hi there Jesse. I know you’re very busy at the moment working on redoing all of your old videos. There’s a lot to go through! I was just wondering if you were able to work on a couple in particular, if you aren’t doing them in any specific order? I know it’s not my place to ask, so I do apologise. I’m a big fan of yours, and I had a few videos saved so I could use them for the future maintenance work I have planned on my XJR. I would definitely give a small donation to you as a sign of appreciation if you can haha

@@XJJesse fantastic! Well, the ones I was thinking of were the one on installing that oil catch can kit on your XJR. How did that all go in the end as well? Have you emptied the can out at some point? I think I remember you saying you’d do an update on it when you did, but you’ve got a lot on your plate, so I know you probably haven’t had the time. Anyway, I was going to renew the drive belts as well. Handily, on your Andy bracket video, you showed us how to remove the drive belt and the two idler pulleys for the supercharger, which is what I’m going to renew as well. And the other video dedicated to showing how to do the alternator and AC belt. I think that was on your sisters X300, but I suppose the method is the exact same on the XJR. Lastly, I’m going to renew the switch pack on the drivers side door, so the video on how to properly remove the door card would be cool. I don’t think there was a video specifically dedicated to doing this, but there was one on changing the door handle cable, which is like 90% of the steps required, so that would be good enough for me! Thanks a lot, Jesse. Really sorry to put this on you. No worries if you can’t do it. Many thanks
