I take my knitting or crocheting with me when I go to pick up my son from work simply because sometimes he ends up having to work a bit extra but he hasn't figured out yet to text me and let me know. So one day I pull up in an almost empty parking lot with 2-3 spots on the side closest to the building. A guy - we will call him Kyle - pulls up behind me and honks. I thought "Really, Kyle? You need THIS exact spot when there are spots EVERYWHERE that are closer to the store?" He honks again. And again. So I think "Screw this" and reach into my project bag and start knitting. Then I hear a knock at the window. "WTF are you doing lady?" I just gave him a huge smile and held up the socks I was working on (only about 1/8th started) and said "I'm knitting socks!" Listen, Kyle, I'm an old woman. I have nothing better to do than annoy the hell out of young punks like you - and I am a SLOW knitter and have enough yarn in that bag to last DAYS. Want to try me??? Go ahead! He got into his jacked up dually truck that screamed "compensating for something" and drove off. My son came out about 3 minutes later. Now I never ever forget my project bag. Don't mess with an old woman who knits.

As a tour guide, I get harrassed often.
Once, while doing a stop about Voodoo (I'm in New Orleans, so yeah...) a group of "clowns" decided that they just HAD to dance around me... squeak balloons at me, and completely disrupt the tour.
I gave it a couple of minutes... but as I have a specific time frame to do my job, I then politely said, "Cool... that was fun, but I need to get back to my job now."
At which point they "ramped it up"...
I got a bit more assertive, but nope.
Eventually I had to tell them that if they didn't stop interfering, I would get the cops. They could be liable for refunding everyone, as they paid for the tour and this is now "theft of services".
Well... that worked, but they called me ALL kinds of nast names as they drunkenly "danced off" (oh, yes... they were trashed and quite obnoxious).
As they were calling me names, I turned towards one woman who was PARTICULARLY nasty, and calmly said, "I hope you break your ankle".
Less than 30 seconds later, and, you guessed it... her ankle turned, and she fell on her face in the street.
    My group was STUNNED!
I then turned back to the group and said, "Now... let's get back to Voodoo"
    😳🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

OK…final airline story. The guy mentioning the peanuts reminded me! LOL! There was a lady who approached the gate agent and said “I have a COURT ORDER that states that you cannot serve peanuts while I am on this flight!!” The gate agent tried to tell her that people with peanut allergies must give us 24 hours notice in order for the airline to accommodate their request. But she waved around her court order and screamed again and again and presented the court order to the gate agent. Tired of listening to her rant, the gate agent takes the court order, reads it, and replies back to the woman, “You are absolutely correct ma’am. It says right here (points) that we cannot serve peanuts while you are on this flight. But I’ll be darned…there is NOTHING here that says that we must board you on this flight.” Mic drop!

Peanuts on plane-…mmm…say that miraculously no one on the flight had peanuts, but what if someone on the previous flight did? They clean but don’t sanitize the planes between flights, so peanut residue can remain. I assume that is why the airline wants the 24 hour notice, to deep clean the plane.

During lock down, I was in a shop, all of us social distancing. I am a wheelchair user. I was next in line to pay when a well dressed man walked from next aisle straight up to counter. There was a whole queue behind me. I politely raised my voice and asked this man if I was invisible. He looked startled then said no I can see you. I said oh thank god for that, I thought I forgot to take my invisibility cloak off. He sheepishly moved to rear end of queue, while everyone behind me snickered. The shop assistant barely contained her laughter. Don't mess with a pissed of wheelchair bound person.

My pettiest moment was also at Disney. My boyfriend and I were waiting in line at Pirates of the Caribbean. He asked if I wanted one of the snacks from our bags, but I said no thank you. Behind us though was this little demon of a child(maybe 4 or 5) that kept bumping into me and kicking the back of my leg. I had asked him to stop and his parents barely did anything. He continued to kick me for the next 5 minutes and his parents ignored my simple request to quit kicking me. I tried standing in front of boyfriend, but the kid would get around him. At one point he stopped kicking me and was wailing that he was hungry and his parents ignored him. I turned to my boyfriend and asked for the gummy bears out of my backpack. He asked if I was hungry and we could just come back later in line. I said no, I’m good and proceeded to turn to the little boy and stare at him while eating the gummy bears. That caused him grab at his parents to get their attention while still complaining. I turned around so they wouldn’t see the bears, but they eventually left the line to feed their spawn. I generally like kids and am not a confrontational person, but the inaction of his parents brought out the petty. At that age, they should be teaching their kids to not kick people

The goal in retail is to get the customer through the line as fast as possible, and that is what the cashier trained to do. I always go as fast as I possibly can, without making mistakes, but the moment someone says, "Could you please hurry, I have an appointment that I am running late for?!", that is my cue to slow down. I'm sorry you ran out of time, but you should have gone to your appointment first, then done your shopping.

I had a petty moment recently. I’m a 38 old female who was born with spina bifida and have had over 50 surgeries on my legs and spine. I can walk but with assistance, with a walker. This woman at the grocery store had instantly started targeted me. Saying I didn’t need to use the electrical scooters you see at the store. She had employees come up to me saying I didn’t look disabled and didn’t need to use it. I being a nice person calmly explained that the walker that was in the basket in front of me says I am disabled as well as the handicapped spot I had parked in. Anyway they let me continue shopping after I showed them the braces I wore on my feet. But this woman was not satisfied. She followed me around until I was ready to check out. By the end of the shopping trip I had to go to the bathroom so I rolled my happy ass to the bathroom and as I went in I noticed the handicapped stall was being used. So I patiently waited and when the person came out, wouldn’t you know it it was the Karen from earlier. I calmly asked her why she thought it was ok for her to use that stall when the others were open. She laughed at my a face and said it’s for people like me. Old and frail people who deserve to be considered disabled. Not fakers like you. At this point I was so red I stood up opened my walker and started to proceed to take my pants off and show her how disabled I really am. I have large deep scars all over my back and hips and legs. And I calmly said does this look like I’m faking. One of the previous employees came in at that moment and saw me having a moment with this old lady. She saw my scars and told the lady to please leave. She apologized to me and said that it was the best scene she ever saw because she had a daughter with the same disability and was proud of me for sticking up for myself. Don’t mess with me Karen I won’t hesitate to show you how disabled I really am

As someone with fibromyalgia, chronic migraine disease, chronic pain, a hypersensitive/deregulated nervous system, and several mental health issues (all of which developed throughout my life BECAUSE of my physical disabilities), I’m super sorry this happened but I’m also so so proud of you, I’ve been on disability almost my entire adult life (nearly 15 years) but, because my illnesses are invisible and I can “pass” as non-disabled, I’ve had so many people not take me seriously, or truly understand what it’s like to be ill and in pain ALL OF THE TIME. I’ve even had trouble getting doctors to take me seriously. In fact, sometimes they can be the worst. Just because I don’t “look sick” doesn’t mean I’m not sitting there, trying to function, with my pain level at an 8/10, in the middle of a migraine cycle, with my anxiety super high, and the nerves all over my body tingling and prickling or going numb etc etc. it’s just, we get used to “masking” these things. Unless you visit my apartment when I’m literally in bed (which is a lot), you might not see just how much I’m affected by my illnesses and disabilities and just how HARD it is to literally just function some days, let alone anything beyond that. *gentle hugs and proud high fives* to all of us just trying to live our lives the best we can when living can be literally painful. I hope each and every one of you know that you are warriors and are worthy of so much, even if you don’t always believe it (I’m saying this to myself too because I can have a really tough time believing this of myself even though I believe it of others). 🥹🥰❤❤❤

I used to work at my aunt's shop where they sell official scout uniforms. I've met diff kinds of mom in there. One time a mom rushed in and said, "i need a uniform for my son. He is seven." I don't see any kid so i took out some uniforms , held them up for her to see. She never checked them out let alone touch it. She said, "My son is seven is that for seven year old kids?" I said, "yes ma'am, and if it's okay you could check the shirt if it fits your kid."
She did not. She just looks over her phone and asked me again, "no, he is seven years old. Do you think that fits him?"
I told her, "well he is your kid and i never saw him."
She gave me an attitude and insisted, "My son is seven years old. Do you think this shirt fits him???"
And i finally said what i've been holding back, "There are thin and fat seven year olds and i am not responsible for your son. Don't make me judge you."
Really? Where were you?? Why ask me about your son?? I did not give birth to him

My petty moment happened back in 1984 I was working at a self serve gas station, alone, as the night manager when a gentleman pulled in with his old Ford car! Now this guy was a "regular customer" and every Friday night he showed up with this car, filled the tank full of regular gas, bought a pack of cigarettes, paid me and would leave!
BUT on this night he pulled in at the Diesel fuel pump and began filling his car full of diesel fuel instead of gasoline! As quickly as he did this and I had noticed his mistake, I killed the pump, switching the power off too it! I WAS after all trying to protect him for a major mistake!!!
BUT as fast as I killed the power to the pump he ran inside the store and started screaming at me, even as I tried to explain to him that he was filling his old Ford with Diesel Fuel, he told me "shut the hell up, and mind your business!"!!
I kicked the pump back on and allowed him to finish filling it with nearly 25 gallons of diesel fuel! Just to be petty!!
I didn't see him for nearly two months after that......then one night he came into the store just to buy smokes and finally apologized to me for yelling at me!!! Come to find out it cost him over $400 to repair all the damage it cost him trying to run his car on Diesel Fuel back then!!!

I am a smoker and was waiting in the smoking lounge for my flight out of Las Vegas. I had been in there a while and I forgot to spray myself with Febreeze. When boarding, I sat down and began to adjust the air vent when a snotty guy seated next to me said, “Don’t move that valve! You STINK like cigarettes” loud enough for a lot of passengers to hear! I was mortified but took my bottle of Febreeze out of my bag and sprayed myself. It was a long flight and the guy who insulted me struck up a conversation. (I think that he just wanted to talk about himself.). I was watching Top Gun Maverick and he launched in to a full soliloquy about how he was in the Army but had always wanted to be in the Air Force but that he didn’t have “the right stuff.” Poor guy. She went into this tirade about how we were ruining what was supposed to be a perfect day for her and how they looked for a beach on google maps for a quiet secluded beach. My sister looked her up and down and asked if she knew why it was a quiet secluded beach where she answered back “No!” And my sis responded that it’s because her and her husband own the property and that she is trespassing, then my sister picked up her cell and called HPD.

One of my pettiest moments - went grocery shopping - this place is always packed and of course everyone wants the closest spot (why?? I don't know, you're gonna be walking around for at least 20 mins or more) but anyway, I got there super early with plenty of spots and to the 2nd one up. By the time I left the place was pretty crowded, came out of the store with my cart and a car followed me and stopped clearly waiting for me to leave. This doesn't bother me until they beeped their horn before I even started unloading the cart. I took my sweet time and figured I'd make her wait. She beeped at least 3 more times. Now that pissed me off, I'm unloading, yes a bit slow but still, it doesn't take that long. Just as I go to the cart away she beeps again but holds it longer. Decision made....OOPS, I forgot one of my shopping list items and walk right by her car all while she is screaming at me. All I said was, I forgot an item, sorry..really sweetly. Don't rush me ever and be rude on top of it. By the time I faked walked in and walked back out I saw her park about 15 car spots up. Again, why do you have to get the closest spot when you plan on walking around a store for much much longer than it takes to walk from your car. I'll never understand.

    • @lindapatton4478
      @lindapatton4478 2 роки тому +21

I have an answer for wanting to park close. People don’t want to push a cart full of groceries very far over a lot, especially when the lot isn’t level. Doesn’t excuse being rude. I know I’m going to be tired after I finish shopping and don’t look forward to pushing a heavy cart through a bumpy lot. But I’m not going to be rude to try to get a spot closer to the door. I try to put a positive spin on it and tell myself it’s a little more exercise.

I used to work in a bank call center and i had a customer call in about a fraudulent payment leaving his bank account. I started asking some simple and standard questions and the guy became super rude and obnoxious. I warned him about his behaviour and he apologised so we continued with the fraud payment query. At the end of the call i managed to give him the full refund and asked if there was anything else i could do for him then he just blew up and started being rude, verbally abusive and degrading and said he didn't mean the earlier apology as he just wanted his money back. I terminated the call but then i noticed lots of payments of cash being paid into his account and then being quickly withdrawn or transferred out. I reported the account for the suspicious transactions and found out later that all of his accounts were closed down by the bank and he had been blacklisted so he'd never again get an account with us and would find it very difficult to bank anywhere else. Everyone in the lineup was at once annoyed and then amused as Karen's light cotton dress was caught in her ample briefs, exposing her broad bottom to the entire bank and undoubtedly every driver and pedestrian she passed on her journey to the bank. A young teller was about to tell her of the situation when the senior teller stopped her. Nothing was said. Karen finished her business and marched out of the bank. This takes a while to do, so she’s just hanging around. No big deal. Another deli worker just clocked in, came over to me and asked if the rotisserie chickens are done and need to come out. I respond with no they need another 30 minutes. After that I finish the cheese, hand it to the lady, thank her and say have a nice day. 10 minutes later store manager comes up to me with a customer complaint that I was rudely talking about a customer with another coworker right in front of her, I could be written up yada yada yada ????????? I said did she order 2lbs of cheese and he said yes. I lol’d and explained I was talking to another coworker about rotisserie chickens, the other worker backed me up. I was just stunned that this lady maked a huge complaint about me for no reason.

I politely excused myself and went and got my manager. I explained to him what was going on, and we both decided that this person was not going to be staying at the resort. Plot twist, the wife was the one who had been harassing me, but the husbands name was on the reservation. My manager calls the husband down to the desk, and the harassing twit came with him. Manager informed the guest that management did not stand for abuse of the agents, so unfortunately their reservation was going to be canceled. The husband was shocked to find out what his wife had done and pleaded with me, profusely apologizing. The must have have been dropped on her head as an infant, because she decided to make things even worse by getting in my face and calling me even more horrible names. I live 15 minutes away from the area mentioned. Downtown Snohomish is a historical place where everyone knows everyone. Whether a visitor or member of the community, everyone is always smiling, very welcoming, and the entire area gives off positive vibes!
The store mentioned is a little more fancy, gives off a bougie kind of feel! The surrounding stores sell vintage antique type of things! Regardless of what the store sells, the owner is extremely kind-hearted very welcoming, appreciative, and will literally ask you how your days going as you're walking in the store! This Karen needs to take several seats! People who make these kinds of reviews or post on Facebook make it hard for smaller businesses to grow! People read them and then don't want to go to the stores because of the negative reviews! I highly suggest if you're ever in Snohomish Washington to visit downtown! It's beautiful scenery and old fashioned vibe make for amazing pictures and wonderful experiences. The town and it's community are extremely nice! I've been on a couple flights with someone with peanut allergies.
Not a giant problem and everyone was fine with it.
Luckily I always bring a duffle full of other snacks. I hid the peanuts/mixed nuts and trail mix from the kids just in case they grabbed without looking tho.
Its not that hard to be compassionate.
At the end when the passengers were leaving the flight attendant gave us all the honey roasted nut packets as we disembarked.
We assumed the allergy person left first.
Best advice given to me by a nice attendant. Always bring a big empty water bottle. Most of the restaurants or food stalls will fill them for you once you go past security. Since im always buying a coffee or donut or food I've never had them say no or try to charge. I do try to be super polite tho. I've seen some really entitled jackasses before and they get whats coming to them.

I have a severe nut and peanut allergy. I know people think being in the same room with a peanut is going to kill us. There was a study done in 2004 by Simonte et al showed that there was no airborne reactions. I have never had an issue. I think if it happens, it would be even more rare than anaphylaxis (which in itself is rare). I have been on planes next to people eating peanuts. They knew I had an allergy and told them to please enjoy themselves. I do, however, get reactions when I touch peanuts, so I make sure to have everyone clean or I clean around my area. My kids and boyfriend eat peanuts. We are good if they clean up everything. We can walk outside or in many places (grocery stores where they even SELL peanuts) and you never hear of anyone dropping dead from that.

Before they were required to disclose it was an HOA prior to closing, I bought into one. They had very minimal rules so I figured it was tolerable (I was wrong). There were no rules on paint colors. I was repainting and bought 10 gallons of what was supposed to be coral (a brownish-pink), it went on pink and dried more pink. I decided I'd put it on as a base coat and paint it something different for a final coat. The HOA went nuts and threatened to hire painters and bill me. I threatened them with criminal trespass.

Anyways when I bought my current home I waited a year before moving across the country to settle everything where I lived. I hired a lawn service. This person called so many times the city inspectors called me to let me know my grass was fine but a neighbor had been calling once a week about it, for months. Since moving here I know who it is and everyone in a two block radius hates them. The lawn company were nice enough to send me a picture everytime they mowed, they knew I was not currently living there. So Not just HOAs can be bad.

We, my friends and i, would leave very nice notes asking for them to please park in one spot only as there was not a lot of open parking spots. this went on for about month, they continued to take up 2 spots. Well, we had enough, so we took matter into our own hands. We go dry erase markers and drew pictures, wrote poem on the car. Dry erase came off with no problem, but can you imagine with look on their face when they saw there car? From that day forward they parked in one spot only.

How’d they manage to consistently find 2 available parking spots side by side for a whole month and you couldn’t find one?

@@cortney3798 The white car might be coming in super early in the morning when there's lots of parking (for an early class)?

The pettiest thing I love doing is driving on country roads and when someone is creeping on me and I slow down just to annoy them “love you too but look what you made me do”
