What I've found works well when stuck in mud is to raise the front of the machine as high as possible by pushing down with the bucket fully tilted, then slide in some large fence posts crossways under the raised tracks. Once the bucket is lowered there's usually enough traction to get out. The bucket also needs some posts under it to lift the front of the skidsteer. In this case I would have placed posts under the left hand edge of the bucket, so most of the lift was on the left hand side of the machine.
I like how you use your rigging training and math to develop a plan that works safely on the recoveries. Very professional in your approaches and actions. Good camera work as well.
Matt is an excellent person to pull vehicles and machines out of the mud. He’s uses skills and charts to decide how to pull. Great videos all the time.
Love watching you do these jobs with the right equipment. Never understood why so many people treat snatch blocks like they're a giant hassle to take the extra 5 minutes to rig up.
Found your channel about 2-3 weeks ago. Have been binge watching all your videos lol. I’m amazed at what you can pull out with a 12k winch and snatch blocks. Awesome content!!
Your videos and content have truly inspired me to continue and double down on my development of an off-road recovery business in my area. Coming from a career in excavation, excellent work on this recovery with no damage to the iron.
Been watching you for a while now. Never made a comment, but you have your stuff straight. You know what to do in a swamp, great show. God bless you and yours.

there mistake was not using the brush to build up the ground they were pushing back onto. florida ground is rough its just like cornstarch in many places solid till you jiggle it
This is a interesting channel to watch!! ... Better that anything on the TV (I got rid of cable years ago!!) ... It's different than some other off road recovery channels I watch. One thing I like about Florida off road recovery, is it's more similar to my area of Ontario Canada, where people get trucks and equipment REALLY stuck in the mud! :) Another thing I like is it is very realistic, one guy and his wife (sometimes even the kids along) dong a job for PROFIT and charging reasonable prices. It's all real, "Florida" Off Road Recovery never shows up with 6 vehicles and 8 men, to get a vehicle or piece of equipment un-stuck!! :)
Nice detail about centering the winch cable. Enjoying the explanations of how and why you do things. How do you clean your straps and ropes? Put a cable through the center of each track. Secure to track with a shackle or rope clip. Secure ends of cables to deadhead or tree. Drive tracked rig up cables. It will lift the rig right up out of the mud. The diameter of a set of tracks makes a huge winch drum.
For some context the John Deere 333g skid loader weighs a little over 12k lbs. With the front of the track under the ground, he's DRAGGING a 12k lb machine THROUGH the ground. Lol

Years ago my wife decided to do a little work with the tractor. She stuck it. The tractor weights around 5000 pounds. She goes next door and gets her sisters tractor to pull it out. She didn't bring her sister to drive the stuck tractor which only weight 2400 pounds. She gets it stuck with the chain tight now. Then she took my truck out there and again got the chain tight and stuck it also. She finally stopped and waited for me to get home from work. I told her to stay off the tractors from now on. I had hell. I finally got them all out. We had water tables on different parts of the property and we would have to break them up and let them dry up. Today after 25 years we can drive anywhere on the property. A brother inlaw who lives next door still has them with people getting stuck from time to time on his property. I tell him to call a toll truck.

Matt used the bottom of the bucket as a skid plate to help lift the tracks, so his anchor position was optimal. If he attached to the chassis, he would have been plowing the tracks through the mud.

The only thing i dont understand is why you dident wrap the ropes on top of the bucket, so that you could press the bucket down and raise the front of the machine.. 🤔❤️🇸🇪
It’s under the bucket to allow a lift If we had to push the bucket down to lift the tracks Plan was to push the bucket down and let it slide on the bucket if we had to
@@joeking3339 sorry didn’t see the first half of the question Ok so our base line calculation started at Operating weight 12,100lbs Over the tracks means 200% of weight required But we figured one one side is buried so really you base the calculation off 6,050lbs x 2 So a 12,000lb pull should be enough up to 24,000lbs if both side started getting buried Now this is also with hydraulics released and rolling Not with machine helping So ideally we planned it out as Apply 10,000lbs of winch force Move machine Apply 10k force Move machine Until it was coming out then winch and move together

Very impressive for sure, I don't think they will push it backwards next time..
Nothing sinks like a Deere.
Should have did a rear pull so you can use the bucket to help push the machine along and the tracks wouldnt have went under the mud.

Most people underestimate how much one of these "little" skid steers weighs. I'm guessing this one is around 15,000 lbs.
I guess someone will be out with the pressure washer later...
Get a bigger machine piece of cake, but I would just use block and tackle! Do it all the time!
I really wonder how they thought the ground was firm enough to use that machine? Just one look should’ve told them it wasn’t.
As usual. Great job.
Nice work!!
Should be pulling from bottom skid steer chassis it better and less leverage.
Matt used the bottom of the bucket as a skid plate to help lift the tracks, so his anchor position was optimal.

Another well done rescue. The skid steer tracks appear to be not very aggressive. Or were they work?
Do you ever stop during a pull for the winch to cool down ?
I would have pulled backwards. Would have been a much easier pull. Track wouldn't dig in and Pulling on bucket pulls the machine down.
The only thing i dont understand is why you dident wrap the ropes on top of the bucket, so that you could press the bucket down and raise the front of the machine.. 🤔❤️🇸🇪
It’s under the bucket to allow a lift
If we had to push the bucket down to lift the tracks
Plan was to push the bucket down and let it slide on the bucket if we had to
You are awesome dude!
Do you use line locks instead of having someone holding the brakes in neutral?
Would love to work with you guys a show you some tricks,
Friend good work 💪 jeep
that rope you use is unreal strong. what is it?
This guy's good!
Excellent !!
What did you figure the stuck resistance at ?
What is the MBS on your Spydura Pro 3/8 winch rope ?
Mbs is if I remember correctly 18,900
We had it doubled up so 37,800 ish
@@matt.mckinzie thanx Matt !
@@joeking3339 sorry didn’t see the first half of the question
Ok so our base line calculation started at
Operating weight 12,100lbs
Over the tracks means 200% of weight required
But we figured one one side is buried so really you base the calculation off 6,050lbs x 2
So a 12,000lb pull should be enough up to 24,000lbs if both side started getting buried
Now this is also with hydraulics released and rolling
Not with machine helping
So ideally we planned it out as
Apply 10,000lbs of winch force
Move machine
Apply 10k force
Move machine
Until it was coming out then winch and move together
@@matt.mckinzie gotcha ,,, appreciate !!

that ground needs a soak-away at the end of the land
