It's helpful for beginners and for people who haven't looked into photography very much. I understand that you don't appreciate it, but that doesn't mean you have to be cruel to those who do. Just move away from "misinforming, over-dramatic hipster videos" and find something that more suits your style.
This helped me out a ton. Every time I arrive at a shoot, I get so overwhelmed and have no idea where or how to pose them. I guess it's some kind of anxiety. Thank you!
Caleborate Media THIS IS SO ME TOO! It makes me scared to go to my shoots too. I run out of ideas, sometimes, nothing at all. Helped me a ton guys! I thought it was better to pose them lol
The more you do it, the more comfortable you'll get. You'll have some solid go-tos that you can use and then work in some new techniques with each shoot.
Mango Street I'm ready but I'm stuck in what lenses to use. I'm a novice and don't know whether im a videographer or photographer, and I get in this buying mentality and really don't do much. What do you suggest I do?
Josny Bustamante, as a photographer (and even a lot of times as a videographer) i almost exclusively shoot on the 35mm. if i could only choose one lens, i wouldn't even hesitate to pick the 35. -rachel
so many corporations and over hyped photographers charge so much for tutorials that teach you the mechanics of photography ! but no one has addressed the creative direction or shooting for emotion or theme ! well done mango street !
WHO ARENT MODELS YESS!!! I am posing people who are just not good at it, and they end up looking awkward due to NOT understanding the posing process and feeling comfortable
The big thing for number 2 has to be emotion for sure! The emotions that were conveyed by what you said were so obvious in the shots. That's a big part of what have made photographers like Platon so major in portrait photography, he knows the art of getting that raw emotion out of the subjects. Would be cool to have a video on how to get emotion out of clients you don't know, as that always feels harder than getting friends and family to open up
This is so useful, I have planned a few photoshoots with friends who aren't models and I didn't really know how to ask them to pose. Now I know exactly what I gotta do!
I was literally watching your previous videos a while ago and was hoping to get a few ideas on how to pose people who aren't models such as my friends! you guys are such big help, THANK YOUU!
no, gain followers organically - don't spam other people's youtube channels! Mango Street works hard on these videos, you can't just overrun their comment section with your self promotion.
I love how short and simple your videos are! Some videos are just wayyy too long and I don't like having to watch the whole thing. Here, I'm excited about the subject from the beginning to end.
This is the most simple yet valuable video I have watched on UA-cam! about posing ppl of course haha - absolutely love how it's straight to the point, and easy to follow. No bs clips or extended explanations. LOVE IT.
Yesterday i was taking a photo to my friends and i asked to act as if they were having a good deep conversation, now i have discovered that it was a real techinque.
This is SO helpful! I'm not comfortable with working real models but I also don't know how to pose models... I always refer to pictures which isn't very original!
Great video! Posing... Sorry, directing, is one of the most challenging aspects of portraiture for me. And since all of my "models" are friends and family, this is perfect for me. Can't wait to try out these tips.
Ummm, this photo channel is amazing. How did I not see this channel before? Definitely going to apply these tips to step up my photography game. Thank you so much and keep up the amazing content! x
I just wanted to take a minute to say, Mango Street is an AMAZING page! I’m in film school now for Directing, and your page has bridged the gap on sooooooooo many things I’m learning. And for that I say THANK YOU! Also, your chemistry and teaching style is fun creative, and straight to the point which I love and a appreciate. Keep up the great work, and if you’re ever in Chicago and need some extra hands, or if you need some extra hands wherever, let me know I’d love to soak up the knowledge!
Love your videos, guys! I've been into photography for two years now and really try to improve as much as I can. At the moment I feel stuck in frustration and demotivation being very dissatisfied with my photos. Then I found your channel and it really motivated me to keep going, keep improving and learning instead of giving up! I very much appreciate your channel! Cheers
Would love to see how you guys work behind the scenes of a portrait session as well as a couple session. Oh and absolutely love your channel, honestly so brief and packed with nuggets of wisdom👍🏼 I literally watched all your videos and can't wait for more.
I really, really like your channel! I have been looking for a photography tutorial and yours is just so good, like very informative and u really teach stuff, the tools u use and everything, it's amazing. Thank you! Keep up the good work guys!
I FEEL LIKE I NEED TO BE PAYING FOR THIS
I KNOW RIGHT?!

"Here, I told her my parents had her on accident"
Anna Greene
People even sell their soul for a good pic...😜
i can't stop laughing
It's kind of a smart way to tell your sister the truth without actually letting her know it's the truth
I breathed a little too hard out of my nose after reading that and a bit of snot flew out wth I felt like I should share that have a nice day
Hunde Kuchen Thank you for sharing that, it made my sandwich taste better.
"here I told her our parent had her on accident" AHAHAHA you savage

Until I see a copy of your portfolio I'm not going to take this comment seriously.
Gosh, you're everywhere.
Some people need to be banned from the internet. Negativity doesn't help anyone. If someone has a critique, then say it respectfully.
The-Weird-Life-Of -Me Jealous? Eh, no.
This helped me out a ton. Every time I arrive at a shoot, I get so overwhelmed and have no idea where or how to pose them. I guess it's some kind of anxiety. Thank you!

Me too.. Before the shooting moment i have a lot of pose store on my mind but when he moment come to reality I cant remember any pose 😆
Who is ready to go out and take portraits of some normals?!
Mango Street I'm ready but I'm stuck in what lenses to use. I'm a novice and don't know whether im a videographer or photographer, and I get in this buying mentality and really don't do much. What do you suggest I do?

Rachel - 35 (I assume the 1.4)?
Wedding photography - 50mm or 35mm ?
but what about 50mm? is it good? issa the only lens i have :(
I love 50mm! If you need some inspiration check out Jessica Kobeissi
Usually UA-cam tutorials are kind of obvious and lame but I really liked this, good stuff guys! Very useful.
