If you want to see a wolf go to the international wolf center in Ely Mn, plus you can check out and highlight the yarn they spin and knit from the wolves undercoats, they sell the things to raise funds to keep the wold center in operation.

Crazy sock lady does that on every 10 rows for her socks. She does sock 1 with the markers and then moves them to the next sock. 💐🧶

North Cascades National Park is our nearest park! Such an amazing park with minimal crowds year round. Looks like you got a great full experience there! I'm so excited about the outdoor theme sock week. Maybe I'll take mine up to NCNP for a hike and a few rows!

I seem to recall that someone mentioned the downside to using a knitted wool cover with tablets/phones is the static charge that can be created with putting the tablet in and out. It could kill your electronic item. Their spouse was able to tell them about a material that could be used to line the inside of the knitted sleeve/cover.

I have been loving all the pictures of the National Parks you have visited on your travels. You should be sure to send some of you knitting to the Extreme Knitting Calendar folks to see if they want to include one next year.

Head out the NE entrance of Yellowstone and you are very likely to see wolveS! You also might see a grizzly in this area. That is what a park ranger told us last time we were there. ❤

Had to laugh when you turned your Toaster progress keeper. I am always turning them so they show on my video but then when I am recording, it never fails they fall backward again 😅
I am doing the Wonderland Yarns Tour the Season knit and crochet subscription blanket. I have to so at least one of each square each month because I am affiliated with them but I am also still trying to get caught up so I can fully look forward to the next month 😄

So, if I were you I would leave a larger distance between the moose and you. Moose don't have very good eyesight and have a tendency to charge things. My husband is a retired truck driver and saw a moose charge a Chevy Silverado truck and rip through the metal all the way down the drivers side of the truck. This happened west of Denver on I-70 in the mountains. I am satisfied with just seeing photos of moose. I grew up in these rockies in Wyoming and Colorado and have heard to many stories of moose attacking. I love hearing all about your travels and trips to the different state and national parks.

I'm glad you are aware of how dangerous moose can be. They look like big lumbering silly animals, but you don't want to get anywhere near them. Male moose drop their antlers in the winter and new ones begin to grow in the spring. If you see a male moose, it won't have those classic big antlers.

You are most likely loving Yellowstone. It is beautiful. I do have a fun story for you. As you are walking the wooden boardwalks of Mammoth Hot Springs. (think it was there-it was 1998) picture a 7 year old who is skipping rope as she walks. This is my daughter (she is near your age, Natalie) I look up, and following her at a close but safe distance is a teenaged elk. He (or she) it absolutely fascinated with this rope jumping. That was this same time of year, and the park wasn't too crowded. In reference to your decrease tracking trick with the light bulb markers-I don't know if she gave you the idea-but the Crazy Sock Lady does that with her socks. She marks every ten rounds on her first sock, and as she gets to the same place on her second sock she moves her marker.

Another dream-filled podcast. We've been to MT once, across the river from Glacier NP. I long to go back. Question: What kind of hiking shoes do you wear, and are they comfortable? As always, you make lovely projects and and I love the yarn shop tours. Thanks for taking us along on your journey.

When you were going from Spokane to Montana, were you traveling on hwy 2? If so, you drove through my town! In Glacier National Park, was Going To The Sun road open? That is where The Weeping Wall is located.
That was definitely female bighorn sheep that you encountered. And your moose was a baby female. The adults are huge! I really appreciate the respect that you and Kent show to wildlife. Very thoughtful.
I hope you enjoyed Montana. Maybe you can come back through when the weather is warmer.

OMG, I lived in Cody and raised my family there. Enjoy your stay. Bummer, you didn’t stop in my retirement state of Idaho😢. I started the knitted version of Blanket of Knowledge because I saw yours. I was a little disappointed that the crochet pattern wasn’t included also because I thought it would be good to learn crochet after knitting. I am learning new stitches in knitting that I have never heard of. It is so exciting to get the box.

    Recommendation grateful received.
