I’ve got the orange dial version and I absolutely love it. Very well built and feels great on the wrist. Currently running at +1 SPD no complaints! Wish it were a 42 but it was never meant to be so 🤷🏼♂️...it’s good as is.
I brought one about a year ago, I’m in the uk so stayed up until midnight checking the site. I managed to grab the white dial one which is what I wanted and the steel bezel as well an awesome watch at a fantastic price.
Since I bought a 39mm Ocean 39 gmt 500......I slowly but surely have more and more difficulties with those super thick and bulky diver watches. I have a Komodo (quite difficult to get one, you have to "snipe it" when it's available). I can really recommend it. It actually has the ISO certification. It's great value like ANY helm watch.
I have the Helm Vanuatu and it’s built like a rock. With every watch you get a water resistance test for that watch so you know it’s good. This is a model that I lust after and when first released I missed out and just have again on this batch DOH! The only slight niggle I have is the thickness but that white dial with the pastel blue/green just pops. This brand does things right. 😁
I've got my Helm Vanuatu for nearly a year now, and ever since then no other microbrand has captivated me the same way. My only hope is that Helm expand their lineup, and if/when that day comes I will be ready like a cowboy in a stand-off.
I have the helm Khuraburi and the Helm Vanuatu. They are both outstanding watches, and the value for money is unbeatable. The Komodo is a bit small for my wrist. The Vanuatu sold out last time in like 4 hours. And I waited like 7 months for my Khuraburi, but it was worth the wait. Just get on their mailing list to be notified when they go on sale. Then jump on it as soon as the sale opens.
Why people play this game with microbrands I'll never know. I learned my lesson way back in 2004 with Timefactors. This FOMO business model is just stupid. In 3 months when the restock is complete, the site will be slow, will crash, everything will be sold out in 5 minutes and the cycle starts all over again.
@@caomhan84 not anymore, you sign up on a waiting list and are notified when the model of your choice is in stock, you have 48 hours to purchase or you are pulled from the list and the next is notified. Seems to be working better. And you can check your status on the list and your position.
IDK if it's the mic you use, or what, but it sounds like they use a very solid/hard steel on this watch, everytime the parts on the watch touch each other it makes a very bright sound, if that makes sense.
IMO, the stainless bezel improved the appearance by softening the obvious bulk. They look to be a thoughtful design, not just a fashion statement. Phil.
ForbinColossus try Hamtun Kraken H2 (correct spelling), titanium/sapphire/ceramic. White dial, four o’clock crown. Best looking dial I’ve ever seen in a micro,
Oh hey quick question, is that black bezel insert removable from what you can tell? Mine is about a half minute off on alignment and I wanna fix it like I do seikos but i don’t know if that black insert comes out.
i've always liked the idea of integrating the date window into an indicator like that, but i think they should have color matched the date wheel and lume.
"As soon as they list, they sell out." And this is why I'll never get into microbrands. This constant stoking of FOMO (intentional or not) just rubs me the wrong way.
They're not stoking anything. Their watches are really good and unlike many other microbrands, they're priced very well, so there's no wonder they sold out quickly. They do batches every few months so just preorder them.
@@PT111111 they don't do pre-orders. Great video as always Rob!!! I really love this watch! The size wouldn’t bother me at all because of my large wrists. Speaking of which, why don’t you start giving the size of wrist the band will fit? That is a no-brainer as far as effort involved, and it would save me and others, a lot of money on buying longer bracelets for these watches that have a bracelet to skimpy to fit a person like me. I’m big anyway, but the addition of arthritic wrist certainly has made it harder to find a good fit! Thanks in advance for your kind consideration!
Steve sign up to receive notifications on the web site and keep an eye on the FB group...I believe another batch will drop at the end of this month. Once available it’s just a matter of being quick enough to get one in your cart, as you likely already know...these are gone in a flash.
To everyone bitchin about the "always out of stock" new waiting list, and you're able to check your position on the list. Check out they're lasted news on buying a Helm watch.
Pointless review. Helm are hyping a low price no one can actually buy at to create interest among UA-cam reviewers. Most if not all watches are actually sold on eBay (with papers and warranty) at 2-3x the price - which is the more ‘real’ sale price for the product, but obviously not as sexy or hot as the eye candy low price they’re creating the buzz around. The evidence to prove this is PayPal handles 100s millions of transactions per day with absolutely no problem, but we’re meant to believe it crashes and unable to handle the sale of 200 watches. Not exactly believable..

Love the hands!!They start to taper the bracelet I'm sold
I have the black dial Komodo and the Vanuatu from Helm. Love them both. Hard to beat for the price .
do you find the komodo too chunky? do you mind the minute hand being orange?
I'm thinking of getting this and wonder about those 2 things. Thanks
@@private464 , I have a 8.75 inch wrist, so for me it is not. It is a heavy watch though! I am a fan of orange also.
They put out a massive 200 watches which are gone in a heart beat and not back in stock for 3 more months.

They just restocked last week. I was able to pick one up before they sold out in under 3 hours. I picked up the orange color which looks slick.
This is why I scoff at microbrands trying to charge $500 or more for their made in China watches.
for those getting frustrated, Helm has introduced a waiting list to combat the problems of their usual sales method.
Weird. This oldie but goodie just popped up.
Got lucky and was able to bag a black dial version, all colors sold out in about 10 minutes.
Can I ask how you where able to score one. Is there a way to get notified or do you just keep checking the website? Thanks in advance.

If you're gonna pick an alias, why not something like "Clint Granite" or "Max Supremus." James Duffy? Really?
I was obsessed with the story "A Painful Case" from James Joyce's Dubliners. It was either Mr. James Duffy or Hard Awesome.
James Duffy well ain’t you mister fancy pants with all yer book learnin’.
Flipper4Life love it
Looks like a solid choice for $285
Quite good value for money.
just a psa, the watch is impossible to get even if you spend hours refreshing their page. Apparently the owners don’t want your money
I like it

I love the watch.
But Nh35... Boring
