- Hey guys,
So happy to be able to unbox the VANUATU and compare it to its sibling the KHURABURI.
Which is better or worse? Very personal choice I think as they are both behemoths!!
cheers
TB
Good review. I agree with you about the pricing. Sure, it encourages flippers when watches are such good value but the solution isn't to make them more expensive.
cheers Howard and welcome to the channel, thanks for confirming I'm not the only one who feels more of us deserve good value and less brand good will payments!! cheers
Luckily I have both of these (and the Komodo as well) and they are both brilliant and because both have different bracelets they feel different on the wrist. If I had to pick one, then the Vanuatu has a more comfortable bracelet and I think has a nicer dial so gets more wear time from me. I haven’t been able to get a Miyoko yet but honestly for the money Helm makes the best budget watches. I haven’t found anything else that comes close for the money. Totally recommend to anyone who can get a Helm, (even on the secondhand market) do it you won’t be disappointed.
Great video, enjoyed it a lot, thanks.
hey Gavin thanks for your comment and yup I agree 100% with you, maybe someone can point us to a better offering we haven't heard of but to date i haven't found their equal!! I thought about the miyako when putting myself on the list for the vanuatu but think i made the right choice here!!
Nice review.
I have both.. but the steel vanuatu...
I have the additional end links so can wear the vanuatu bracelet on the khuraburi. Both great. Both very versatile.
If forced to pick it would be the vanuatu. Absolute strap monster especially with the additional silver bezel 👍
Just wish the names were easier to spell 🤣
hhha cheers Rob and yes spell check still confused with these two!!! 🤣
I agree with you 100% that is an excellent movement and watch and considering I have seen a plethora of companies that put the nh35a into a watch and have superior quality they all run right around $300 sure there are other options available at cheaper price points but again you're correct they have quality issues and as far as the other brand you were referencing again I cannot find any fault in what you said I think if you're even able to get one of those watches at the ad the prices over inflated for what you were getting I mean they are stainless steel watches after all not made with platinum and p****as those are the two most expensive things that I know of 😂 I like the newer watch better I prefer the dial layout and crown position of the new one I would have called them by their names but trying to remember how to spell that stuff is just god awful
hahahha best comment this year Mr E, love it!!
Received my Vanuatu Ti about two weeks ago and absolutely love it. I honestly cannot imagine finding a better deal on an all Ti diver. I don't regret the year wait at all.
cheers Baz - they can't make much profit margin on these but I'm totally behind them!!
I waited for a while for my name to come up, in fact almost forgot about them. Then with in a 30-45 days, I received emails for the Khuraburi Ti and the Vanuatu. I couldn’t be happier. One thing I love, yes Helm could easily raise the price up at least $100 per watch. However if you run the numbers and sales structure, he can lock in his prices months in advance thus defeated inflation. It truly is brilliant. Amazing value, I always wanted several high end watches and got a couple of them. However these tickle the itch just as much and the exclusivity of them only added to that.
boom christmas came early LOL will be interesting to hear which one gets more wrist time, for me it was always the bhuri... until i got the vanuatu, we fickle watch owners!!!
Brilliant review ……. Great watch and the brand is a winner in every way
thanks for the positive feedback Royce and welcome to the channel!! do you own any Helms? 😎
@@thetimebombardier just getting back into looking at watches - I merely own 3 lol
I have an Apple Watch which I had forever but since recently retiring I am enjoying the finer walks of life with watches and now own a Tissot T touch connect and a SEIKO save the oven series King Turtle Manta Ray (day date combo one)
So really enjoying UA-cam and appreciating reviews such as this - the Helm is a cracker of a watch and just fascinating of the process to get one of the gems!!
Wow.. love the Vanuatu, really nice.. Love a super legible watch. Like the Kh but if push came to shove, I'd take the Van all day long.. Good video, thanks!
cheers James - i think you preferred the vanuatu when i reviewed the titanium version also!! need to get one on your xmas list!!
I’ve got both watches and agree with you that they’re both great.
cheers Will, and welcome to the channel, do you have both in steel?
Think I am 600ish for the steel (200ish for titanium)…… so only another year to go 🤪
Going to go for the S2 bracelet though.
hey Alfie, good to here from you again bud, and I reviewed the titanium version of the vanuatu a while back and loved it but this steel is quite unique look and feel, but it is heavy, think heavier than your Invicta!!
@@thetimebombardier Hey, not too bad thanks.
Sounds awsome then! Haha.
The titanium should be here this year hopefully, but the steel is my most anticipated watch ever!
Even more that the Planet Ocean UltraDeep!!
@@alfieakaronaldog maybe I can lend you this one for a week or so?
The only Helms I needed. Got the Khuraburi in blue and orange date a nice fun piece and the Vanuatu with SS bezel. Would be nice to try their titanium counterparts. 🤔
Binned off the waiting list and bought off Helm BookFace group. Was happy to pay a little extra for the privelage. ☺️
hey John thanks dude and welcome to the channel!! i just got the notification on the miyako but can't afford it... grrrrr would have been nice to compare all three!! I had a titanium version on recently and loved it but they do scratch up easy but the weight is a big difference 😎😎
@@thetimebombardier yeah buddy. I did put my name down for a Ti Khuraburi, but passed it on to one of the the Helm BookFace group. I don't mind my watches wearing in overtime. I was put off by how easily it's meant to scratch.
Plus it'd probably feel weird being lighter. 🤔
Got both and love them. The Van Ti bezel is a bit naff on mine. Agree with the clasps, both mine are well used and very stiff and not wearing in. But love them both!
hey Andrew thanks bud and welcome to the channel!! i've had the buri now nearly 2 years and the clasp is still clunky LOL but yes like you i love them dearly!!
Thank you for your thorough review! Bravo!!
thanks James and welcome to the channel sir!!
Check out the zelos hammerhead 3 if you like watches that could survive a bomb blast.
cheers ROb and yes Zelos been on the radar for ages, I did get a thresher in a while back and it was ok, not helm standards tho and I kinda put them to the back of my mind as a result, thanks tho, if the budget permits I'd like to get one in for review!! 😎😎
Wow! Should I get inline? Love my Vanuatu! So glad I didn't sell it like I almost did. Wearing it again and LOVE it
Hey Kojam 👍 thanks bud and i've been wearing the vanuatu more than the bhuri recently as with the steel bezel it's just gorgeous 😜😎💪
Helm watch are up there with the best bang for buck on the planet .Other UA-camrs have lost the plot with those comments. Thanks for the great review.
cheers Alexi and yup I agree mate, for an iso rated diver like this it's just a superb offer :)
I reckon your rant was referring to someone Random
after 18 months I finally got the email.. Still waiting for my Vanuatu Ti.. can'g wait
Hi Brian 👍👍 hope it meets your expectations when you get it on wrist 😋😋 please keep us in the loop 😎
Take it easy mate, another baby after 9 months wait? You already got one this year (and what a baby, right?😉) !!!😅 But i guess that's why the rant too, things escalate during waiting...... 😜
Cm'on, just teasing you, enjoy this beautiful watch! Although you seem to need some helm with your HELP addiction, or is it the other way around??? (help>HELM, pun intended! 🤪) Cheers Duncan!!!
Brother Stavros 😋😋😋 thanks dude and yeah i think i have Helm issues right? Been wearing the vanny out today and everything about it just works right 😅😅 and no dude no more little people please this one is hard enough work 😋😋😋 how's everything in your part of the world?
@@thetimebombardier Windy, but took a dive or two during the weekend!
Congratulations 😉 Looks stunning!
How long did you wait?
just over 8 months for this one!!
@@thetimebombardier Dang! Did you get a monthly prize draw one then?
I was position 1600 8 months ago and have only moved up 1000 places since ☹️
At least it will come one one day, and pleased you got yours 😉
@@alfieakaronaldog yes that 150 watches per month is really taking them ages to get through the back log... it seems logical i got the monthly thingy as I registered for the miyako at that time too and am like you waaaaay down the list!!
Vanuatu Ti is really nice, and worth the wait.
Cheers Minenwerfer 😎👍 great name by the way 😅😅
I've got the Khuraburi with the orange. Love it for its unique style and diversity. It weighs a tonne but luckily I managed to fit a rubber strap from my Oris titan onto it with some convincing. It manages to make my top 10 in a collection of far more expensive Swiss pieces.
It's a keeper.
Hi Joseph, thanks bud and welcome to the channel! yup these are a little heavy, I have the OEM strap and it works well also :)
Only just joined the queue for a khuribhuri, i’m number #6107. 👎🏻
Wow that's a big queue... patience sir as i reckon many will give up or forget 😅😅
Dumb Rolex style business model
Haha really? I think rolex employ a few more people, these guys are a tiny op in comparison 👍
Not sure its a business model for either brand lol, but even if it is, they are two of the best watches out there so worth the effort ; )
