and mistakes tend to happen on relatively easy tracks! Put my old toyota on it's side through not paying attention on an easy descent. Good on you for posting this Roothy, look forward to seeing the recovery!
04:53 "The Handbrake" really voices her opinion. Mate, you all walked away from it, mistakes happen and respect for sharing the stuff up. On ya Roothy. ATB Moose.
Dam mate, sorry to see Milo 2 like that. Great to see you are honest to show us how the best in the world can still make a mistake. As long as you two are alright , Milo 2 is tough as he will bounce back 💪
I was in a friends Suzuki Sierra when it rolled and it was scary for sure. I trust that the 3 of you are ok (You, wife & Milo 2) and can't wait for the next episode!
Bloody hell Roothy its like an episode of Home and Away, now we all have to wait now to see what happened. But seriously, you're clearly around to tell the tale so it appears, thankfully, no one was hurt.
Great video Roothy, but I am so sorry for what happened to you, the Handbrake and Milo 2. Mate all that good work of getting the truck together, heart is in my mouth to see how bad the damage was. Sad!
Whoa! Gutted to see this last night and glad to see today that you're okay and now using it to raise awareness of the importance of awareness when driving off road. Very important. I hope all is okay. I know the poor ol' ego will be feeling it though.
Bloody hell Roothy that’s a shame mate. As long as you and the handbrake are safe and sound that’s all that matters really. Poor Milo 2 such a beautiful truck. After watching your videos on her build this breaks my heart mate.
I watched this roll over 3 times & it still upsetting as the first. Your honesty is very much appreciated. Hope Handbrake gets back out there. I rolled a rollux in Darwin over 10yrs ago. I'm still fearful of the dirt tracks. Big lesson learnt for sure. Take it easy, let tyres down!!! New neither at the time.
This will become a typical educational vid, many people will learn from this, has loads of valuable info, it's s a game changer :) good to see both of you were ok, chin up, head high, luv your work mate.
Never met you or your wife John but been a follower for years and almost feel like i do. That's what makes this rollover video harder to watch than most of the others in UA-cam land. Thanks @#$% you two are ok!
G'day Peter, yeah we are all good mate just damaged pride. The truck took quite a hammering, though I think more damage was dome during the recovery than the rollover, but you will see what I mean in the next clip. Cheers
Bugger! Glad you're both ok, trucks can always be fixed. Had a similar concentration lapse in my Hilux, luckily didn't quite go over and got away with a snapped steering tie bar, got the brown adrenaline going though. Look forward to following the recovery and repairs.
That's what we here in South Africa refer to as a "real bummer". Sad to see any truck roll. Look on the bright side. now you can produce a whole series on "Milo 2 rollover repairs". But seriously, sorry to see this man.
Strooth Roothy! Hope you pair were/are ok cobber! As is said, 'Never too Old to Learn' ;) And Mrs 'handbrake', please don't punish Roothy beyond 'pleasure' ;) lol . Love to you both. Cheers for sharing. :)
Ho-lee-sheet!!! Strewth Roothy, you could've just told the handbrake you would rather she not come along with you on future trips!!! Seriously though mate; glad you are both okay...that's the only thing that really matters. The big green girl can/will be fixed. If it's any consolation, I had my first ever rollover (in fact my first ever vehicle accident in 46 years and around 3,000,000klm of driving) a couple of months ago. It put the wind up me but I had to get on the horse again the next day. Mine was in a Hiace + trailer, working as a country courier/mail contractor. Anyway mate...all the best and I'll look forward to watching the upcoming details.
Your both safe and hopefully not injured physically so in that regard great vid Roothy. I bet the handbrake was quite for awhile after that but would not like to be around when the inetial shock wore off. Cheers mate 🍻 They work better shinny side up.
That happened to me a few years ago. Just one mistake on a track I've done many times. The bad part was, I was alone at sunset and it started to snow. The good part was after posting a SOS on Facebook I had many local 4x4s owners out looking for me! Thanks to the members of High Desert 4x4 Recovery!
Roothy i hit thumbs up for support mate felt weird hitting that button. Feel terrible for ya mate all that hard work that you and the lads put into that truck.. and to top it off you had the trouble and strife along as co pilot.. hopefully you can fix milo 2 fairly easily and even more importantly i hope it hasnt put your missus off touring with you. Keep up the hard yards mate and maybe one day i might see ya on a track. (Number 5 on bucket list sorry so low but other things like family were ranked higher. Lol)
That's gut wrenching, hope you and your wife are okay. My mate was killed in that exact same circumstance. Every one makes mistakes, sucks that this has happened :(
Good to hear You and the Missus are OK. Can't wait to hear why you were crossing out of rutts on a down hill decent. Not having too much of a dig but that is a huge no no. On a brighter note it was cool to see you out at the local Indian restaurant a few weeks back. Didn't want to disturb you as you had guests.
Oh man! So sorry. When M2 went over, I think we all did too! Must have been so scary for you and Mrs R. I'm sure all will be fine in the end and old/new lessons learned. (errhemmm - good TV though!)
Hey John. As long as you and the hand brake are ok, everything else can be fixed. Hopefully she will keep coming out with you on your adventures after this.
Oh no. Roothy mate, WHAT DID YOU DO? I mean old Milo is a half decent bit of kit, but not since The Red Truck have I seen such a beast of a pickup... Seriously though hope all is ok and you or the Handbrake weren't damaged... ~CAMO
So sorry to see you hit the dirt that way. No one hurt no one to blame box on keep having fun - even if it is a Toyota! Even a mighty patrol would have rolled on that line. Sh1t happens . You won't see anything sitting in front of the TV so it's the risk you take for hundreds of hours of enjoyment. Take care - we are of the world cup. Lossa luv from nz!😚🖒
A proper ball ache right there. It’s the slippery bits that always catch us out, I don’t have the funds for good tyres let alone muds and whilst keeping pace with those who did I ended up having to go bush to avoid a stack. I got lucky that time.
Ouch. I'd be inclined to call that maybe 60% driver error and 40% the tyre giving up grip at exactly the wrong point. The front wheel slipped into the gully and that, as they say, was that. I hope Milo 2 isn't too badly dented, and that the trouble-and-strife has forgiven you...
Very sad to see this happen Hope your both ok Good you showed everybody how easy it can turn bad when your having fun on the tracks Looking forward to your next instalment
Roothy on his roofy ! Happens so quickly, like any accident. Doesn't look like anyone was hurt but at the first of the video I was concerned because she had her left hand on the door, fingers outside. I thought the truck might roll on them. Ran stock cars for years and a buddy used to hold the roof in the corners, car flipped and he lost the ends of all four fingers. Hopefully only damage is roothys pride.
after watching this truck being built and seeing it in Melbourne, even taking pics of my young son sitting in it, seeing it roll over was like seeing a family member break a leg. hope you all are ok.
No no no no no no no no no no noooooooooo! You've got this all wrong roothy. Its shiny side UP! Seriously though, hope you and the handbrake are ok. And i hope that beautiful truck didnt cop too much damage!
Respect for showing is your cock-up. We all need to learn from the mistakes of others if we can. The main thing is that no one was hurt. Vehicle can be repaired. May I ask what happened to your 70 series? It looked like a beauty to me.
If the going looks like its getting tricky, engage rear diff-lock. 9/10 times it will help you get through. If in a real sticky situation engage front. Open diffs all round just encourage track erosion and make it more likely that you will break something (think lifted wheel spinning frantically then dropping back down to earth) POP there goes an axle or CV......
Oh what a shame Bad luck there mate - hope you and the mrs are all good - that’s what really counts after all, metal plastic and glass is all fixable or replaceable
Hi Roothy could you please tell me why you have a hand throttle? Just starting to get into four wheel driving and trying to learn things! Thanks for your programme enjoying it tremendously:)
G'day George, the hand throttle just mean constant revs rather than twitchy throttle caused by bums etc. when off-road. The constant revs also means that there is less chance of losing traction.
Great for steady slow crawling in low range - especially when the accelerator peddle can be a bit jumpy. Also good to use if you have a PTO winch, but don't see many of those nowadays
Hi Roothy, sad to see what happened to you and your wife. Hope all is well and that both of you are unscathed. Milo 2 will recover. Important thing is that you and your wife are of top importance and your safety is 1st priority. By the way are you using lockers/ LSD's on Milo 2?
Bit of a bugger going over but at least you were brave enough to keep the footage in the video and I am sure it will be a talking point for some time to come. Hope the damage was only slight.
Oh no...I hope you all are ok???? strength to the whole team. anyone can make mistakes. you have to dare to come out ... so that we can learn from it. if the lady still wants to sit next to you ... that is another question
I bet anything that Roothy tried to ride the ridge then the rear end slipped into the ruts. Possibly a little tap on the brake to seal his fate. Easy mistake-a to make-a . Done that with a Hilux and a well placed tree root.
I did notice your darling wife with her hands out of the vehicle. (and, in fact, obviously had the camera out the window at the time of the roll over.) I've had it drummed into me, and I drum it in to everyone who travels in my vehicles, KEEP EVERYTHING YOU OWN INSIDE THE VEHICLE AT ALL TIMES. For this very reason.
G'day George, not too bad considering mate, we will be posting all of the details and repairs to this channel so you will get to see it in all its gory details. Cheers
Felt wrong hitting the 'Thumbs up' for the video. purely showing support.
Thanks mate, I know what you mean, I was even more gutted this time than when I rolled Mustard!
Mulder030 Same here.
I hope you, the missus and the truck are OK now Roothy. Bad luck.
Thanks Mulder - I get what you're saying - take care
why haven't i seen this channel before? pure gold, love your attitude and honesty, support from italy
G'day mate, that's the only way to do it ! Spread the word about the channel as there is plenty more pure gold content coming. Cheers
will do !
and mistakes tend to happen on relatively easy tracks! Put my old toyota on it's side through not paying attention on an easy descent. Good on you for posting this Roothy, look forward to seeing the recovery!

Thanks for the clip it’s honestly good to hear the “experience” doesn’t mean nothing can go wrong! Thanks Roothie
G'day Drew, yes mate all good just damaged pride and some work to do in the shed. Cheers
Bloody hell Roothy its like an episode of Home and Away, now we all have to wait now to see what happened.
But seriously, you're clearly around to tell the tale so it appears, thankfully, no one was hurt.
What a hoot the in law is!!! Cured him n all 😂
Happens to the best of us roothy. Hope milo 2 isn't too damaged. Just as you were saying the handbrake was starting to enjoy the tough stuff 🤣
The anticipation of knowing what was coming (given the vid's title) was killer - hope everyone's ok - you can always repair the truck
Great video Roothy, but I am so sorry for what happened to you, the Handbrake and Milo 2. Mate all that good work of getting the truck together, heart is in my mouth to see how bad the damage was. Sad!

Time to get a new upside down sticker Roothy! "If you can read this ...Roll me over" : ) , I hope you, the missus & Milo are all ok mate!
This will become a typical educational vid, many people will learn from this, has loads of valuable info, it's s a game changer :) good to see both of you were ok, chin up, head high, luv your work mate.
hope you're both ok mate, any damage on milo2 will buff out... and its a good excuse for more videos :)
Never met you or your wife John but been a follower for years and almost feel like i do. That's what makes this rollover video harder to watch than most of the others in UA-cam land. Thanks @#$% you two are ok!

Thanks for showing it all Roothy. The good, bad and the ugly. Feel for ya
Strooth Roothy! Hope you pair were/are ok cobber! As is said, 'Never too Old to Learn' ;) And Mrs 'handbrake', please don't punish Roothy beyond 'pleasure' ;) lol . Love to you both. Cheers for sharing. :)
Whoa! That went quite wrong. Hope you and your missus got out of it without a lot of pain. And that the damage to milo2 is repairable.
Jeepers John!. You gave me goosebumps. Hope you’re both well...Steve
I hit the thumbs up for you wearing it on the chin! Teachable moment. I hope everyone was okay.
Ho-lee-sheet!!! Strewth Roothy, you could've just told the handbrake you would rather she not come along with you on future trips!!! Seriously though mate; glad you are both okay...that's the only thing that really matters. The big green girl can/will be fixed.

BUMMER.
Stuff happens.
It's (now) history.
ALL the Very Best.
Glad you're showing this. We are not perfect. And guess what, we learn by mistakes. You learned and now we will too. Thank you. Glad you seem okay.
Your both safe and hopefully not injured physically so in that regard great vid Roothy. I bet the handbrake was quite for awhile after that but would not like to be around when the inetial shock wore off. Cheers mate 🍻 They work better shinny side up.

Safe travels John, hope the damage is minimal to you folks and the truck.
You're an inspiration man. Also, if you're uploading, you and both your loved ones are ok. See you next when we do 👍
Roothy i hit thumbs up for support mate felt weird hitting that button. Ouch! Hope everything is ok Roothy! Looks like everything was nicely strapped down ... or was it?!
That's gut wrenching, hope you and your wife are okay. My mate was killed in that exact same circumstance. Every one makes mistakes, sucks that this has happened :(
far out mate, that 12-ht sounds bloody terrific!!!
RIP Milo 2 😢 Love your videos mate
Good to hear You and the Missus are OK. Can't wait to hear why you were crossing out of rutts on a down hill decent. Not having too much of a dig but that is a huge no no. Mate,if that's your Mrs you are batting well above average!!!
She's so lucky eh??? hahahaha
Hey John. As long as you and the hand brake are ok, everything else can be fixed. Hopefully she will keep coming out with you on your adventures after this.
It just sounds fantastic 👌👌👌
Oh no. Roothy mate, WHAT DID YOU DO? I mean old Milo is a half decent bit of kit, but not since The Red Truck have I seen such a beast of a pickup... Seriously though hope all is ok and you or the Handbrake weren't damaged...
~CAMO
Damn, i thought my stuff up missing a turn off and blowing my front diff was bad enough. Glad your ok.
Love the sound it makes
Shit mate, I hope you two are ok? I just discovered your on UA-cam & this is the 1st clip I saw! Emotional rollercoaster!!!
A proper ball ache right there. It’s the slippery bits that always catch us out, I don’t have the funds for good tyres let alone muds and whilst keeping pace with those who did I ended up having to go bush to avoid a stack. I got lucky that time.

Very sad to see this happen
Hope your both ok
Good you showed everybody how easy it can turn bad when your having fun on the tracks
Looking forward to your next instalment
Bloody hell mate, i hope you, the misso and old milo are ok
Hope you and the Wife are all good.
two years later and we're still cruising in Milo2 - thanks
Roothy on his roofy ! Happens so quickly, like any accident. Hahaha like the way hour brake system try to stay steady in the seat 💺 🤣🤣🤣
ahh man i think someone was chopping onions nearby when i watched that ending
Yeah it was pretty devastating when I crawled out of the swag the next day and had to start belting and bending panels!
after watching this truck being built and seeing it in Melbourne, even taking pics of my young son sitting in it, seeing it roll over was like seeing a family member break a leg. hope you all are ok.
No no no no no no no no no no noooooooooo! You've got this all wrong roothy. Its shiny side UP! Seriously though, hope you and the handbrake are ok. And i hope that beautiful truck didnt cop too much damage!
Glad you show mistakes too takes a bit of courage I guess. Hope ya missus gets back in. They dont like being upside down
WTF...................hope you both are okay, more importantly ...How is M2 ?? anyway, looking forward to the rebuilding of MILO 2.5
Ouch! Bit like bikes, really... I hope you're both ok?
Respect for showing is your cock-up. We all need to learn from the mistakes of others if we can. The main thing is that no one was hurt. Vehicle can be repaired.
May I ask what happened to your 70 series? It looked like a beauty to me.
Oh wow. Hope you guys were ok!
A truck is just a truck. At least u and ur wife are ok mate!
Wow did that happen quick, and over a fairly innocent looking rut. Scary stuff, definitely humbling.
As much experience as WE have, a BAD line is always a BAD line! On the other hand, Milo II, now has some scars of a true warrior! He was baptized!
Hope everyone is safe and sound
Oh what a shame Bad luck there mate - hope you and the mrs are all good - that’s what really counts after all, metal plastic and glass is all fixable or replaceable
Sad day, on the upside you know the seatbelts work and no lives or limbs were lost!
Hope everyone's ok roothy 👍
Nasty little track that clay can really be a hazard with top-heavy trucks
Hi Roothy could you please tell me why you have a hand throttle? Just starting to get into four wheel driving and trying to learn things! Thanks for your programme enjoying it tremendously:)
G'day George, the hand throttle just mean constant revs rather than twitchy throttle caused by bums etc. when off-road. The constant revs also means that there is less chance of losing traction.

Hope you get it fixed up soon look forward to the video
when i first red the title i think to myself ‘you’re gotta be jokin?’
i hope Milo 2 is alright without sustaining major damage.
Nothing that a few days/beers in the shed can't fix. Cheers
JOHN ROOTH glad to hear that, cheers from Canada "mate"! 😂
oh dear, hope nobody got hurt, except your pride Roothy?
Hi Roothy, sad to see what happened to you and your wife. Hope all is well and that both of you are unscathed. Milo 2 will recover. Important thing is that you and your wife are of top importance and your safety is 1st priority. By the way are you using lockers/ LSD's on Milo 2?
Please don’t break it Roothy.. go easy
Has anyone seen Roothy and Peter Russell Clarke at the same time?? I'm sure they're the same person..
Yeah good point d p, your onto something mate, next time i see Roothy, im asking him to say "Wheres the cheese"
Bit of a bugger going over but at least you were brave enough to keep the footage in the video and I am sure it will be a talking point for some time to come. Hope the damage was only slight.
Yeah nothing that can't be fixed mate. Cheers
A dead wombat @7:20.But Roothy ,get a chainsaw if you want to be able to use a motor upside down.Good one mate.
OOPS ! and with the wife in the car, i feel for you Roothy,
Bet your in trouble now mate.
Is the problem that the center of gravity in your car is so high ?
THANK YOU FOR VIDEO AS WHAT DID WRONG THERE AS HOPE IS WELL YOU AND YOUR WIFE AFTER THAT
ooops, thats a fsk up we could all make tho.. hope everyone is ok now and milo can be fixed up :)
What series landcruiser your buddy have?
He needs more subs
Bugger, hope your relationship will buff out :)
Well John after mustard you'd be well knowledgeable now on how to mend her right. Always a shame and the worst feeling ever. All the best.
Hope you guys are both OK John.....
Oh no...I hope you all are ok???? strength to the whole team. anyone can make mistakes. you have to dare to come out ... so that we can learn from it. if the lady still wants to sit next to you ... that is another question
Oh no, bet the handbrake wasn't happy with that...
And that would’ve been the last time the ‘handbrake’ came 4wding
Shouldn't have been playing with the hand brake Roothy Lol.
top heavy
Unlucky mate, unfortunately from time to time we skip the book and pay the price. Only human.
How bad's the damage?
G'day George, not too bad considering mate, we will be posting all of the details and repairs to this channel so you will get to see it in all its gory details. Cheers
Time to get the jeep out :)
Ooh dear Roothy
