Well said. What he's done here is provide a lesson for many of us. But I have to say it was a great team effort getting the vehicle upright again. So just out of curiosity, did the 70 series not suit?
This vehicle looks super top heavy. Either way, it takes a lot of humility to show something like this. Just another reason why Roothy is one of the very best. Elite class and humility shown here.
you got a good co pilot , truck still rocking and the first thing you hear is her asking if your ok , quick wits and a good heart, priceless , glad all was ok, I saw the fix up already : )
And this is why you should always have a hand winch in addition to your normal recovery gear. Good on you for showing this Roothy and glad you are both ok and not too much damage to the truck. I put my old 47 over on her side like this in a very similar circumstance to yours, and like you, did it again during the recovery. Got mine upright with a combination of electric winch, hand winch, extension straps and hi-lift jack. The hand winch was essential for pulling her upright and sideways, especially with no other helpers around
This is why I always checkout all your episodes. Thank you for sharing and also showing your viewers what to do if a situation like that arises. You and your crew handled it really well. Kudos to you all. Looking forward onwards to your next great adventure.
Well thought out Recovery...really? Too many mistakes to list but here`s one. In roll over No-2, nobody should be back inside a vehicle that is being put back on its wheels! Its not a very safe thing to do & serves no purpose. (being polite here)
Good to show this and the difficulties in recovery for the average guy. Glad to see the 40 series fire back up and everyone is OK. You can repair the metal bits and will now have a great story to tell about even when we are experienced sometimes bad things happen. I have had a few less severe mishaps and must admit afterwards we ended up having a better experience overall, meeting people who help out, even after draining our bank accounts getting back up and running again. Thanks for posting this real-world situation and glad you guys were only bruised up a bit. Cheers from America!
These things happen mate, love the camaraderie of the Brits and Aussie in this flick, just crack on and get the job done. Now, back to the garage and assess the damage. ATB Moose.
Good work getting it back on 4 wheels. I was impressed by how you (and everybody there too) kept calm and just got on with it. Hopefully not too much damage to fix, some shed time and beers afterwards to help with the pain.
Aaaah mate... That hurt to watch. Really glad everyone was ok, but damn, it's no fun when you mess up a new truck. (Even worse when it's your own fault!) Fantastic recovery effort. Hope the handbrake doesn't extract a too debilitating revenge.
Chin up, winch in, hammer out and wheels down! Thats the Roothy way mate. Your missus in brilliant mate. Roll over, on her side!, and she still picks up the camera! Fairdinkum, you both got style cobba. Glad no one got busted up more than need ;). Cheers for sharing mate :)
Mwaaahahaaaa .... I'll take the diamonds! Love a lass who can see the fun in a bad moment and move on. Bad luck but really glad you both came out OK'ish...
Glad everyone is ok - even Milo looks not too bad. Thanks for showing this video, I think most of us have had a "shit that was close" moment - this video makes us all think :)
John glad you & the HB are ok, Milo 2 is one tough tough Toyota Land Cruiser, with a little TLC she be back up and ready for more off road adventures, happens to the best of us Mate...
Hi Roothy & Kaz, As long as no one was hurt, the rest is just hurting the pride and repairs and you didn’t have to show this but your a honest and proud man. I met you at Dubbo OL opening and had a good chat and some nice coldies, Cheers Amos & Kaz
Great to see you are both ok roothy.... good luck .with the subtle adjustments to milo 2 I'm sure it's no too much trouble... as an old employer said one time .. that tractor has had 4 motors 3 gearboxes 6 diffs brand new tractor that .. .... still waiting for my job application lol
I have been there myself and appreciate your sharing . Unfortunately I didn’t have video footage of my incident but the photos did get to the internet very fast haha. In my case , complacency and misjudging the line were the main factors and I kick myself for stuffing up so well .
Main thing is everyone is ok, gear can be replaced, people can't. As the saying goes, shit happens. Keep your chin up Roothy, things can be repaired and replaced :)
Wow, something so simple, a pretty basic looking track, with a capable 4wd and driver, leads to this! Just goes to show how dynamic the 4x4 situation is. What's that adage - stick to the ruts? One winch usually pulls you deeper into the shit. I am so suprised as that track didn't look that scary. Glad you all got thru it ok. Does that mean you have scared the Handbrake off the trails? - I hope not. Imagine if the 105 had gone over, tears about that for him I am sure. Cheers Roothy. Hey, Pat's sign off "Keep the shiny side up"
Roothy thats bad luck there Mate. Glad you and your wife are ok and I love how the first thing both of you did was check each other was ok . True love right there! Can I ask though why you stayed in the 40 for the recovery? Im thinking it wasnt the safest option but ive never been in that kind of situation either. Your 40 was a beautiful bus.! It can be fixed..atleast both of you werent hurt.
Good to see you got out ok mate. Could have used the high lift jack to pull the rhs rear down.. hard to say without being there. Id pull the injectors out to make sure its clear of oil before cranking a roll over, yea its a fresh rebuild but still cheaper than bending a rod as you never know.. next time ey haha (You probably know all this but could be useful to someone else)
Just goes to show its not the roll over that kills you, its the sudden blow to your ego. Lucky you have some of that milo-green left over. Was the roof rack doing a good or bad job? Half broken off or half staying on?
Roothy did you wave the grease gun over the chassis while it was easy to get at ?You might have to go back and do it again . Keep spreading your knowledge mate, I like to learn from you. Who hasn`t made mistake?
Not surprised that which cable broke that first time, can’t put it at an angle like that to do a pull sideways, the force on the line as you’re trying to straighten the angle to pull the truck over is multiplied. Recovery seemed a bit sketchy in general but I’m not really in a place to criticise, I don’t think I would’ve got mine out of that without a lot of help.
Hey Roothy, Sorry about the rollover. But like you say it's a good excuse to improve Milo 2. I'm always trying to learn so have a question. I was of the understanding that if you start the engine after a rollover there's a high risk of doing damage. Is this right or did you have no choice?
Hi roothy and mrs roothy Good to see your both ok Poor milo looks like going to need a few more rebuild videos Just curious do you think this could of been worse if you still had the roof top tent on the canopy?
Professional people are not afraid to recognize their mistakes. I am glad you weren't hurt :)
Great recovery🤙 you must have a one in a million misses because I didn't hear any abuse at all. She is a keeper🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Respect for showing this.
Well said. What he's done here is provide a lesson for many of us. But I have to say it was a great team effort getting the vehicle upright again.

Roothy, no one hurt, stories to tell, memories made. Thanks for sharing.
you got a good co pilot , truck still rocking and the first thing you hear is her asking if your ok , quick wits and a good heart, priceless , glad all was ok, I saw the fix up already : )
Roothy I admire the way you kept your sense of humor, still with a 40 series it is all rebuildable. Good luck mate.
And this is why you should always have a hand winch in addition to your normal recovery gear.

You took that roll with a smile. That's why Roothy is the man!
Sometimes mishaps are the absolutely best memories!!👍 respect! Things can always be fixed .
All in a days outing in the Bush . Keep up the great work.
Well done, great to show. Once used a hand winch on a hill in a similar situation
A lot of respect for you. Milo 2 repair series! Cheers
This is why I always checkout all your episodes. Thank you for sharing and also showing your viewers what to do if a situation like that arises. You and your crew handled it really well. Kudos to you all. Looking forward onwards to your next great adventure.
Roothy I loved your calmness after mashing your new truck up!
Glad to see no one was hurt in this Roothy. Full respect to your wife and yourself for keeping your cool.
So sad but glad you and the handbrake are ok. Well thought out recovery. Steve
Well thought out Recovery...really? Too many mistakes to list but here`s one.

Good to see you’re both ok and thanks for sharing John👍🏻
I’m already looking forward to the repair/rebuild Roothy, plus the missus was on the job doing some camera work. That’s a keeper for sure
Well done Roothy, staying calm fella.
Many people would just hide the mistakes, kudos for showing all of it.
Glad you're all OK.
Thank God that the two of you are Safe‼️🕊️
Well done, Know what it like, roll my 80 cruiser... heart breaking when you see the roll side of your truck...
Well done Roothy for getting Milo 2 out of that predicament , a bit of cut and polish and that'll fix the damage :-)

These things happen mate, love the camaraderie of the Brits and Aussie in this flick, just crack on and get the job done. Now, back to the garage and assess the damage. ATB Moose.
Scary stuff, Roothy. Great recovery and glad no one was badly injured.
awesome attitude , nothing ever gets you down mate !
Good work getting it back on 4 wheels. I was impressed by how you (and everybody there too) kept calm and just got on with it. Hopefully not too much damage to fix, some shed time and beers afterwards to help with the pain.

Sad to see any rollover, Glad everyone’s ok 👍
Mwaaahahaaaa .... I'll take the diamonds! Love a lass who can see the fun in a bad moment and move on.
Bad luck but really glad you both came out OK'ish...
I’ve just found my new favorite channel!
Onya Roothy happens to the best of us ;)
That track was slick as grease!!
Huge Respect to you and your wife and crew! Sorry to see such an accident but glad all involved are ok. Seems you just took the wrong line
Glad everyone is ok - even Milo looks not too bad. Thanks for showing this video, I think most of us have had a "shit that was close" moment - this video makes us all think :)
BUMMER.
Glad 'all is well'.
John glad you & the HB are ok, Milo 2 is one tough tough Toyota Land Cruiser, with a little TLC she be back up and ready for more off road adventures, happens to the best of us Mate...
Hi Roothy & Kaz,
As long as no one was hurt, the rest is just hurting the pride and repairs and you didn’t have to show this but your a honest and proud man.
I met you at Dubbo OL opening and had a good chat and some nice coldies,
Cheers Amos & Kaz
You have some guts to show this
Glad you both were not hurt ROOTHY.
Must have a good hand brake cause not many hand brakes would put up with that😀
You're a true Legend Roothy
Bad luck Roothy, shame to see Milo2 get a beating but you always bring them back better than new.
Can happen to anyone just lucky you were in a 40 series 💪
Expect it and accept it... 👍
Good to hear that you were all ok Roothy. That is the important part. The truck can be fixed.
props for multiple efforts trying to turn it over most people would of bailed
I have been there myself and appreciate your sharing . Unfortunately I didn’t have video footage of my incident but the photos did get to the internet very fast haha.
In my case , complacency and misjudging the line were the main factors and I kick myself for stuffing up so well .
Good that no one got hurt. Subscribed for more videos.
Hope you and especially the missus are ok mate. As you say no matter how much experience you have you can always get caught out somewhere somehow!
breaks ya heart to see this
Thats what we call life mate. If it was easy it would be boring(wish it was easy) hope the missus and you are ok. Be safe mate :)
This is making me feel so bad for you! Have seen your vids in building this beast. Hope you can fix it up with no dramas? Looks top heavy btw!
Glad your both OK.
I'm glad no one was injured in this roll over because it could have became a lot worse than if the truck started to roll multiple times down the hill
The first scratch is always the worst, but this gives you more reason to tinker Roothy
Main thing is everyone is ok, gear can be replaced, people can't. As the saying goes, shit happens. Keep your chin up Roothy, things can be repaired and replaced :)
Not all have BALLS to show publicly when they make mistakes! An old rule of the 4X4 bible: "expect the unexpected"!
Great recovery boys
I’ll bet you father in law wasn’t too happy his little girl was in there with you
So glad to see all safe and well
Wow, something so simple, a pretty basic looking track, with a capable 4wd and driver, leads to this! Just goes to show how dynamic the 4x4 situation is. What's that adage - stick to the ruts?

JOHN ROOTH no worries mate hopefully I’ll be there with the Nisan patrol have a good one 🍺
Those last 4 words. 🤣
and now in the next episode Zen and how to fix 4wd and a "crash" course in diamond valution....
Your handbrake is a beautiful classy lady. Batting above your average Roothy.
Exspensive way to do a promo for recovery gear from BCF😉
Roothy thats bad luck there Mate. Glad you and your wife are ok and I love how the first thing both of you did was check each other was ok . True love right there! so sad i nearly cried
Hey, we got a good tour of the underside! Few could have taken it better than John.
Very nice winching techniques.
7:09
Why does the guy holding the strap remind me of James may at this point?
🤔
😲
I remember now,
Glad all we're ok.
No one hurt, and thats the main thing mate. The damage to the rig isn't too bad. I'm sure you'll have her patched up in no time.
Always look on the bright side of life👍 poor old milo.. How come no more 4wd action vids roothy?
That is why you all Ways stay in the ruts and then you can not slide out of them
Good on yer Girl, take the Diamonds
Sorry Roothy but I Laughed Out Loud when it rolled back over. hope you and your lovely wife is ok.
Good to see you got out ok mate. Could have used the high lift jack to pull the rhs rear down.. hard to say without being there.
Id pull the injectors out to make sure its clear of oil before cranking a roll over, yea its a fresh rebuild but still cheaper than bending a rod as you never know.. next time ey haha
(You probably know all this but could be useful to someone else)
Not sure if it was designed that way or a lucky accident but the spare wheel helped to protect the cab and the handbrake.
Well done bugger
Just goes to show its not the roll over that kills you, its the sudden blow to your ego. Lucky you have some of that milo-green left over. Was the roof rack doing a good or bad job? Half broken off or half staying on?
Why don't you put a water tank on the roof to make it a little more top heavy.
Roothy did you wave the grease gun over the chassis while it was easy to get at ?You might have to go back and do it again . Keep spreading your knowledge mate, I like to learn from you. Who hasn`t made mistake?
Bet my wife wouldn't of been so calm!!!!
Even the pro's make mistakes.
Ah the old "TTIOIS" situation,nasty:0
Being rough id probably need full roll over protection etc, I'm too busy to be fixing me ute every time I went out.
My heart hurts
This recovery should be made compulsory for all would-be offroaders. Think first then take it in stages, that way people live to enjoy the bush again.
No worries you could fix it glad you're okay
Hey Roothy, Sorry about the rollover. But like you say it's a good excuse to improve Milo 2. I'm always trying to learn so have a question. I was of the understanding that if you start the engine after a rollover there's a high risk of doing damage. Is this right or did you have no choice?
That was painful to watch 😩
Hi roothy and mrs roothy
Good to see your both ok
Poor milo looks like going to need a few more rebuild videos
Just curious do you think this could of been worse if you still had the roof top tent on the canopy?
Probably wouldn't have made any difference to the rollover, but would have made the recovery trickier just because of the extra weight.
Shes buggerd time for milo 3 maybe a 105 series?
And the cheese and kisses with her arm out the window!!!!!!
Could you have not used your HiLift as a second winch?
Anyone think of using that shiny new hi lift as a come along off to the right of the truck to stop it falling over?
