My first guitar was a 2004 epiphone Les Paul and years later I needed to do some work to it and the body is plywood. Even though Epiphone stated it was supposed to be mahogany. It’s a yellow wood, so not mahogany.
I bought it brand new from a reputable music store and it was still in the retail box unopened. So I don’t think someone swapped the body.
It actually doesn’t sound bad at all though, and has tons of sustain. It weighs a ton though, last time I had it on the scale it was 16lbs. Really ridiculous.
I FINALLY thought of who it is your voice reminds me of. Randy Rhoads! I hear your voice and I think of him talking in that video where he accepts the Best New Guitarist award.
It looks nice! The Rocket neck has that special touch to it.

Balsa wood is my guess. Its cheap, easy to use, Chinese guitars always seem to be made of it!

cool guitar being so cheap it would make for a good beater guitar.. the neck is a good idea.. but the pickups is questionable . I would replace those with better ones could get good Wilkinson's with out that cheap ceramic magnet & would sound a hell a lot better..

Awesome job as always, The neck came from one of my goodwill guitars. The Rocket specials are known for the hot humbucker pickups and at $40 I got a pickup in a guitar package. Zimm's had a custom neck put on it "strat type" neck and did an amazing job setting it up on my custom build. Make sure you put a Zimm sticker on the back of the headstock! Great seeing your work and I was just about to pull the trigger on Temu so I will make sure the code is loaded.

personally ive bought several guitar tool kits and some nice hoodies from temu in the past couple months. free shipping great prices. all these items from temu come all the way from china, but the quality of everything ive bought is pretty darn good i must say.and these guitar parts you got are good quality. so fear not people temu is very reputable. oh and great job on the guitar. this would qualify you Zimm as a master builder at fender. all they do is put together strat parts themselves but take the title as master builders which a think is a big expesive joke for the buyers of fender guitars. fenders are kit guitars. assemble parts people

The neck pocket on a tele is different from that on a strat. So I could see problems immediately when you opened the neck bag. I wouldn't recommend mixing and matching like that.
Partscasters rawk!!! Looks badass. Would almost be tempted to black out the hardware and swap out for a black pickguard to go for that Jake E. Lee look!
I got a jack from Temu and it has no wires on it just a bare jack I am building a cheap guitar also but have most of the parts I bought the same pickups you have I am still painting the body satan black got a couple more coats yet
There's no holes for the neck drilled on the body, I wouldn't know what to do with that
These builds are fun if your 12 years old and aren't expecting much. Thin wires and shady parts are not the way to go. The bit falling out of the drill was hysterical
lol yeah, but most 12 year old's can't figure anything out anymore ,this is 2024.. maybe in 1990 a 12 year old could figure it out.. most 12 year old's today are challenged

Never have loose drill bits again. After drill bit is snug, twist the chuck with your hand counter clockwise until snug. My drill actually makes a few click noises so I know its locked. 99% of the people do not know this. Your drill bits and tools will never loosen and fall out again.

Really no respect and ethical at all one person in the comments saying it’s fun for children. Doesn’t he realized 98% of America and the world living paycheck to paycheck and the middle class are just well off. No one front these groups of people can buy 2000$ to 16000 without without debt from credit cards assuming they have limits or paying monthly. Really some people are just ignorant.
Also Zimms , seriously the guitar needs pickups upgrade.
