Q-tips worked! Even if you don't visibly see dirt or grime surrounding your connection, I'd recommend still using the Q-tips for a nice clean-up.

I had just changed out my coil and got the message. Too bad I had filled it up all the way with juice before I saw the error message. Had to dump out the oil and clean out the internal connectors like you said and that fixed it for me. Thanks a million!

When I get this message… twice now… it’s because something was just a tad too tight. I have a geek vape Zeus aegis. The coils go in the bottom of the tank and when you take that bottom part off- don’t tighten it all the way or it will throw you the “protection atomizer short” error.

Great… I’m was the two tiny little screws at the base where you charge it up they became lose barley noticeable but there was some play so a quick tighten with a knife job done…

Thanks bro.. had a mod sitting for a long period of time. Used isopropyl and pressed and cleaned all the pins where the tank goes! Works like a charm

I was in the same boat, I've been using disposables for over 6 months and my mod has been sitting (and leaking). Alot of cleaning and pushing the pin down to let it bounced back seems to be what worked best

This helped so much turned out my coil wasn't turned correctly and didn't fall into the slot inside the tank twisted it into place and my z-tank works amazingly on my geekvape e100

for the it was the underside of the pod. it had a little screw what made connection to the actual vaping device, howerver, this screw was a little loose. I tightened this thing and was good to go

Hello, im new into vaping and your video helped a lot ! you got a new subscirbe , i had to change the coil even tho it was new and just placed it , do you know why this happens ?
@Vasillis Anastansiadis, Hi Thank you for watching, and glad we could help. The most common reasons can be that the coil got hit with too much wattage too fast.... like a car ideally a coil needs to get broken in to heat up and cool down to heat up instantly again, With high watt devices when people first get a coil , they stage it where they start off using it at the minimal reccomended wattage then work their way higher every few inhales...this gets the vapor flowing and allows the tank gaskets to set in properly. Sometimes it can be as simple as a defective coil or in a more complex case that the wattage regulator in the mod is bad and shoots out more wattage than indicated.

shouldve led with wiping ur contact pins as its a more widespread issue then in the chip or battery.
sometimes the tanks just not making a good connection to the 510 pins and the pin needs to be lowered.
this is especially true if ur plagued with ohms too low as well.

First short atomizer message ever... Cleaned tank and everything, restarted device, changed coil (two new ones), the message is always there. Did all the gentle clicks&clucks you recommend on the mod and the tank (where they meet), but nada. And yes, the message appeared with one coil and remained after I replaced it, sounds like a mod issue right :( r.i.p?
@Hound Underground, yes seams like a connection issue inside the mod, probably within the chip circuitry, I would see if you can file a warranty claim with the manufacturer, other than that it wsounds like it can be sent off to its final resting place.
I have a fix....Use a seal (O'Ring or flat O'ring) off an old tank kit to put between mod and tank, they leak out the breather then under the tank in most mods, then into the 510 connection which causes problems and then into the inner casing which kills the mod....

Faulty coil was the problem for me. If the mod was workin before the coil change then it’s probably the coil for everyone else who’s having similar issues

I have got an argus pod. Was using it since a year. Had stopped using it for a couple of months and now when I tried to use it, it shows check atomizer. I was using an older coil so maybe it is a coil issue. Anyone got any idea?
@Seasonpathak7000, most common is a coil replacement or cleaning the connection area in most cases.

I have smok nord 4. The display is showing no atomizer constantly from past few days. No buttons are working. The display is stuck at No Atomizer message. Even when the pod is not connected. Waiting for the battery to drain so that the display goes away. Is there a way to do hard reset? It has fixed battery
@Rahulsinha9031 - I dont know of a hard reset for that model. Probably best to let the battery drain as you thought and see if it resets the frozen Screen.

I vapped a 1.2 coil at 95w without realizing it and the mod stopped recognizing the atomizer. I switched to a different tank and it worked so it's not the mod. I changed the battery and everything but it won't recognize the first tank. It's a geekvape Z btw. I don't have another mod to test it with, I also replaced the coil.
@Walt, so even with the new coil the tank was not recognized? If so the tank base probably has some conductivity issues, you may try disassembling and cleaning the tank, we have a video on tank cleaning here on the channel. If that doesn’t work you would need to replace the tank base.

i cant get the whole thing off my vaperesso, i get the tank, and coil out, but the threaded rod is destroyed or something, because it keeps spinning around when i try to take it out. What can i do?
@andreashelledahle6718, in this case unfortunatley you might just have toi use pliers, to try and get a good grip on the bottom and apply outward pressure as you twist so it catches.

I have a Voopoo Doric and I can't take my Doric apart so I cleaned it the best that I could and changed my coil and still nothing oh also I've changed my coil 3 xs and the first 2 coils somehow got broke because I have another tank and tried them in that one and they aren't working so whatever my problem is it's breaking my coils as well so do you have any ideas on what this could be I've even used the pod from my other atomizer and I know its my tank because my other pod that's the same as the one that the Doric has on it isn't working on my Doric either . Please help
@Kim Baum, it sounds like you have a pretty complex case but you did everything for that Mod to get it running, i think it has a problem with the wattage regulator and it is frying your coils by letting too much thru and masically ruining everything you have on there, I have seen batteries you have turned down to 2 or 3 watts and you hook it up to a Watt tester and it is pumping out 40 watts. Basically if thats happening you have to call the manufacturer or the shop that sold it to you to see if they can swap it or take it apart and replace the circuit board.

@Marino Nikic, if you tried everything in the video, even took it apart to check for contact issues and it still shows, you need to contact the manufacrturer as the actual circutry / microchip in there is damaged.
My drag 1 doesn't recognize Kylin Mpro RTA, but it recognizes Reload s( maybe kylin mpro too big)
@Alex maine, check the bottom connector pin in the mod battery and & the Kylin, and make sure when you screw them in they are touching. Most of the time your symtoms are caused by a recessed connector pin ewither in the mod or tank. Cheers and hope it helps./
@@danhoff6890 So i solved the problem, problem was that pin is too short to touch the connector, so i decided to put a small steel piece between connector and pin, then it worked now my drag recongizes it.

I got this problem my vape was fine I changed the coil let it sit for about 20 minutes then was vaping away for about an hour or 2 then all of a sudden I got this problem could I have a faulty coil ?
@nightfury1348, yes it could be a faulty coil, also it is best to stage the coil where you kind of break it in before hitting it with any high wattage because then it prolongs the life of the coil... also in rare cases the mode may be exerting more power than it displays.

So I have a problem with someone who might be able to help me. I replaced my coil twice, and from time to time, I get an air hit. I've tried clearing the puff counter, and that didn't help. I have a morph3 using 0.4 ohm coils

@user-gz7oc9bz6c, so if the lights come on and the counter starts and the hit is dry it sounds like a contact issue, the contact issue can be you need to clean where the coil goes into the tank base good and make sure the connection points are solid, or you need the check where the tank screws into the battery to make sure the tank lower 510 contact and the battery are clean and making a good connection. If you take your tank and use it with a buddies battery and it works flawlessly you know you have to check the battery you have, however if it is the same issue with another battery you know if is within the tank contact. my batterys a bit fucked so it only really works above like 50 percent but i got the drag for free so i cant complain, this video was entertaining while watching the ecig charge
@user-Jay-C, well thank you for watching! if your unit has a replaceable 18650 battery if you swap it, should be good as new. If it has a built in battery component then just enjoy it as it is. You cant beat FREE, lol!

Screw in the bottom coil before the top spent 20 min to find out the order matters
Soooooo I ended up taking wire cutters and tightening the tank to the mod so the connectors touch. It worked. 😅

@Daniel Pirvulescu, it usually means it is running too long or too strong and the internal batteries are overheating. Might be a time to get some new internals 18650's.

@princeNinoCabug-It5bw, so in the video I talk about determining if the issue is in the battery or the tank. if you try a different tank and it still is an issue the connector in your mode could be either dirty or not making contact with the tank pin. If you clean this area and still nothing you should call the battery manufacturer and see if they will swap it for you. Hope it helps.
geek vape error 'atomizer short'. so far there has been no way to fix it. i already tried all the stuff youre banging on about, ie you havent told us anything that i hadnt already worked out via plain old logic .... lol .... any other suggestions?
@YobboCat, yea the plain logic is all I got lol, if that doesnt work get in touch with the store or the manufacturer and poke at them as it comes down to the specific programing of the device as this is probably an internal error on the motherboard. Rarely if you take the casing of the device apart, you can see the wire going up to the connector detached where the soldering failed giving you that signal.
my rta fires 10times then just saying ”check atomizer” what i need to do i tight screws
@mikkakoskinen366, you might be giving it too much power, or when you give it power the Screws and wire go out of place and make a contact issue.

@Godwin Pasia, if none of the tips in the video resolved your issue, you should contact Wismec .
I have 3 different Wismec mods and they all have this issue. Their 510 connections are horrible. I have a lot of mods from various other brands and have no such problems with any of them. Either it's poor quality control or they just don't care.
@@theonelion I had the same thing with a Wismec Rezin series. Amazing Mod, great body, texture, buttons. connection failed.
@@danhoff6890 I have th RX Gen 3, the RX Gen 3 dual, the Ravage and the Tinker 2. The Tinker 2, a great looking and feeling mod, is the best one out of the bunch and malfunctions the least. However, the mod can look and feel great, have a good chip and function perfectly in every other aspect but if the 510 is faulty, the mod is pretty much useless because it's just not reliable enough to use.

Thanks. I can't drive right now due to medical issue. The only vape shop close to me only sells these and VooPoo. All are crap. I have several broken ones here. I knew that it's something stupid with all of them that can fixed. The Aegis X is possibly one of the worst cases of bad engineering that I have ever seen

@Bern Chyu, I would get in touch with the mod manufacturer, it sounds like something wrong with the internal circuitry of the mod.

@Paul Gibson, it could be a connection issue with your tank to the battery or an issue where you have to clean out the insides of the tanks and the base that the coil connects to. If that doesnt work the mod has internal circuitry problems.
Wtf I restarted the vape, it still didn't work and then I 'accidentally' dropped it and now it works like a charm lmao

Nah. See none of that worked and to get to the point of taking it apart is not realistic because every thing I've ever taken apart turns to garbage right away. Just throw it away and go buy a new one - like they're cheap or I'm super rich and it doesn't financially phase me.

In my experience, Honeystick SubOhm tanks do not work on HoneyStick Batteries. They are the worst battery I have ever come across, Defender, Subohm, whatever. They have a cannabis cup stick battery that works very well, but the Mods they have are all Alibaba specials with 0 support. They also give you a runaround on returns, rather than acknowledge the product is sub par and offer replacements. I WAS a wholesale customer. I have found dealing with some wholesalers is better than others, in this case, I do better with others.
Every once in a while, sometimes u just get a dud coil in a pack too. That just happened to me

@LVLNULLER, if you did everything were you able to see if it was the battery or tank malfunctioing? if the tank the tank base is probably defective and you should contact the tank manufacturer, if the battery see if you can get a warranty repplacmeent for your mod.

@@danhoff6890 es, well, my Geek Wape felt down couple times last days and even glas broke. Had to replace glas but left the coil, was still good. Day after I got this message. I guess, the coil got somehow short contact
I had the same error. After I tried everything suggested in 2 videos I watched I put back the old coil I just took out and all was good. So I determined it was the new coil. I got another new coil and all was good again. Thanks God 😅

Did you know if you toke your atomiser and batter then smoke comes out it works like it should
@the_champi0n875, if you vape on your unit and then vape still comes out the tank, it sounds like its working strong usually atomizer issues show if you get a bad or burnt taste or underperforming, not enough vapor.

@airboy391, if you purchased a tank without a coil that is def not the industry norm, so I would reach out for a refund, thats like buying a car without tires.
