- Just a quick lesson on how to fix an atomizer short
If you are getting the error message on your device, there is an actual short in your system. using quick fixes actually places you at risk.
replace your coil. most shorts are found because the wire in the coil isn't set correctly. even if new, your coil may be to blame.
take apart your unit and clean it.
You may find liquid where it does not belong
check to see if you have a leak. if you are using a tank system like Smok, if your seal is broken or not closed, it will cause the Ejuice to leak and cause the short

Worked perfectly! I cleaned out the connection between the tank and mod with a Q tip and then held a blow dryer on it for a few seconds and worked like a charm
Thank you so much for this! I was getting so pissed trying everything else. This fixed it right away. I took it all apart just to be thorough and alcohol cleaned everything so that the contacts would be extra dry. For peeps who don't know, this can happen even with a new coil. I had a leak in mine from not tightening the new coil enough, so the contacts got wet. Please make sure when coil replacing, that everything is clean and dry before filling the whole tank....you'll avoid my mistake and save yourself from a huge mess! Ugh. Thanks again bro!
I've seen other posts and this was the least complicated and it worked. I took a Q-tip and dried up any beads of liquid where it shouldn't be and I'm not having the issue any longer. Thanks.

Thanks dude, you just saved me a shit tonne of money buying new atomizers. I put my tank on, it didn't work, I tried for 20 minutes. I unscrewed it and put it on and not screwed all the way in. Pow, it worked and I got a connection. I was able then to tighten it and it did the trick. I'm using an Eleaf istick pro 80w with a Cleito tank and aspire coils.

at least after watching this video I was sure that the water is the problem, i washed the atomizer and after building a new coil this problem happened, i let it dry out as you mentioned and it worked again. thanks 👍👍
Thank you so much! I saw other solution videos where everyone were saying that the easy fix would be tighten or loosen the pin, which conntects the Head with the Mod. But neither on my Head or the Mod the pin is adjustable. And first i thought i need a new Head, until i found this Video. Your Solution fixed my Problem right away. Thanks again!! (sorry if my English is bad, its not my main language)
Unscrew your 510 connection. On the bottom of your tank is a flat head screw (normally a gold color). Unscrew it to help bring it to the connector on the mod. It should push on the mod enough (when you put the tank back on the mod that it pushes that pin down which is spring loaded) that it completes the circuit. Hope this helps.
Finally I found the problem Thank you for no more problems had to carry a throw away vape around for times problem with atom short
his comment worked for me also with tanks not originally bought with your batter they may have longer mating pieces so try to not tighten it all the way when you go to hit it and it should work as well

Only thing I've found to address my actual problem. Others are titled atomizer short, but then go on to a different alert. Ty for your insight. Also, side note... I'm not good at naming things either, but I can do things most others can't. So don't let those comments get to you.
This was a good idea! I removed the electronic part at the very bottom (kinda tough to remove) to see the eletronics, and the entire thing was soaked in juice. I just cleaned it up with some alcohol and letting is dry out now. If this doesn't work... I'm just getting a new vape... Literally changed 4 coils tonight, reset it, changed settings.... This is all there is left. XD

My case it was just a bad coil. I find usuall 1 of 5 in a box is bad sometimes more. SMOK coils.
I think the burn taste is from the 80 watts you use.
I don't know what kind of atomizer would handle that for recreational vaping.
For clouds maybe, but can't chronically vape at that high rate

Thanks to your video, I took the time to disassemble my smok alien mod and now it works! I admit that a tiny heatsink fell out but I'll be careful with it until I can get a new mod.

I have a DRAG X vape that is a magnetic bottom fill tank where the coil is a pull out (where you cannot take the tank apart to replace the coil) I've only had this value for less than a month and got this error. I drained out all the juice, pulled out the coil, took as much stiff apart as I could to fix this but it didn't work. 😔

Omg!!!! I’m soooo thankful for you! I have been fiddling with my mod for the past 3 freaking hours trying to get it to work. It would start firing for like 1-2 seconds and then stop and say atomizer short. I was literally losing my shit. 😂 THANK YOU VAPE GOD 😉❤️
I think the drag 3 just has a consistent atomiser short problem with any tank other than the one it came with.
If you ever had a leak and juice got down around the base pin of the mod...you are screwed unless you can take apart and clean. Even then, the electronics may have been damaged. These mods are being built with cheaper electronics more and more these days. A short from ejuice can trash it pretty quickly.

Who in their right mind would think the way to fix any electrical short with another piece of metal? As soon as you said that I pictured catching my face on fire. Anyway, I want to know what to look for in these obviiusly counterfeit 0.5 SSOC I got for below market value. Half aren't working right from the jump. It's too late now though since I've gone thru most of the boxes but I'm thinking if I knew wgat to look for on the coil that I could have salvaged a lot more
Idk. All I know.. some coils worked and others did not. Every pack of coils I purchased.. 1 out of 3 caused a short... so much so.. I stopped using it years ago
Hello! My smok is showing short atomizer! One tank says it and when I put the replacement tank on it works?! Tank meaning upper part that holds your juice! Have I lose the first one that has that reading?

Just flip the atomizer upside down, let it sit to settle the juice. Then unscrew it and get a napkin. And clean the very top rim of the coil, and the part where the top of the coil is seated in the mouth piece chamber. Juice or debris causes the loss of connection

Well mine is stuck the bottom bit at the vent will not unscrew a rubber bit has came off from the inside the tank can not be removed the mouth peice falls off all the time and the coil has just came apart

I'm lazy and just blow on the vents, blow into the mouth part, and unscrew the tank and wipe off the metal connection. Cue tips also work.

Everybody is wrong about the solution because you will keep the same error message after cleaning, the problem comes from the coil screws, if you make TO tighten, then you mod will not burn idle, change the screw if it's not go inside anymore, after that try to cut the cotton, because if the coil is full with cotton, the atomizer will block it, even when you drip the liquid, the burn will dry out the liquid cotton so you won't be able to vape or with one coil wire, basicly make not to tighten, not fully with cotton and check always your ohm resistance, buy even a separate burner with ohm volt reader, that will definitely help the atomizer short message, one tip from me, clean and dry everytime if you tank is empty with liquid.

I just got this error after changing my coils and cotton, it wasn't the mods fault. After opening up my Kylin tank, the 2 coils where touching each other. Just hair dried everything, straightened out n separated the coils. Works fine now, even saved the juice!
Perfect advice. From no vape to dragon vape in about 20 seconds.
it rly fixed the problem by just cleaning the under coil space form liquid.

This happens to me and just blow into it very hard and all the liquid in the ventilation leaks out clean it and everything will be okay it’s just the liquid that has leaked try using a different liquid like a thicker one to reduce this problem

kaygz33 there was a short in the coil. Once I changed the coil it was fine. But the issue constantly was the coil. I changed to a different tank and hardly ever have the problem now. When buying premade coils.. I buy in bulk. In every pack of coils.. at least one of them always has a short.

Lara Figueras it's one of two things. The pin on your tank isn't fully secured and need a new one... or the coil is burnt out.
I have a smok beast king same thing it says atomizer short its a pain but you'll have to try some trial and error and no one survives off just one mod and tank always have a back up.

Im probably too late but next time this happens take your batteries out and put them back in make sure ur contacts are clean by using a Qtip and unscrew ur tank and try again.
Daniel O'Connel if it keeps saying no atomizer chances are there could be an issue with the 510 on the mod itself

had this problem with same mod but with a crown mini tank. all i had to do was unscrew the bottom part clean it out and screwed it bk on. worked again
Ape Shiit with this mod, if any liquid gets to where the pin is at .. it's a short. Or other case... coil is bad. But don't do the shortcuts... I had fire spark out of mine by the vents

This wasn't the fix for me, I tried another battery and it worked straight away, Putting the old battery back in I just made it extra tight when closing it and it works fine now.
Happens again, change your tank. One kf the pins aren't making contsct
@@systim30 I don't want to change the tank lol, literally just got delivered today, Like I said I put the old battery in and now with the new battery its working fine. The tank itself is working perfect I tried it on an older mod which worked no problem it seems just the new mod had the issue but its working good now, thanks for the feedback though. 👍🙌

What do you do when your mod has an inbuilt battery and dies faster than it charges?
10,000 subs no content challenge it's a battery issue. It needs to be replaced because there's no way to cycle a battery after that.

I had to take out the small pin on my coil and reaujust it. The small wire wasn't connected down the rubber part I just fixed and it worked again. It wasn't my mods or batteries my batteries are brand new and i tried different tanks with different coils it worked fine it turns out it was my coil someone must been asleep while making the coils and probably forgot to fix the bottom wire correctly. But everyone makes mistakes and I understand that. I

Though i find your post helpful, but it didn't work for me unfortunately. What did work though, was i that grabbed a screwdriver to look into my SMOK G-PRIV and found out that a cable lead solder joint had broke. I just solder it back and got it working again, you must know what you're doing though and please take out the batteries first.

So, when you say dry it out, are you saying take the plates off and clean the internals of the box? It’s a fact that E-juice, being oil based, it’s not going to evaporate on its own anytime soon… and so you’re right. A short is a short. So, to keep it from jumping around, it needs to be cleaned with something like a full q-tip wipe down. That’s what you’re saying, right? That’s my personal opinion and what I’m gathering from your opinion as well. Btw… on a related note: anyone who uses a washer or wire to jump or bypass a short is straight up just going to fry their box. It’s effing bonkers to think that the “go-to quick fix” is a washer. That kind of advice is dangerous, man. That nonsense is how people at the very least fry their computer… and at the worst, end up overheating their batteries super-fast and before they even know there is a problem, having the thing blow up in their faces… or more likely, both at the same time. So, yeah… you’d say Q-tip clean out, right?

DavyDave1313 make sure your coil is screwed in right take it apart reinsert it and it's still happening after that change the coil (most shorts are caused because of problems inside the coil itself wire touching exc).
If like the man in this video it is happening with different coils then the mod is most likely faulty and needs to be sent back, unfortunately smok is not known for its quality control they have a lot of dodgy mods out there with more and more unsatisfied customers they care more about mass production than anything else

I got the same message I just jammed a paper town in the top where the battery meets the tank and spun the paper towel to dry that part and it went away
Fixed. Just dry it completely worked for me

My vape felt but not a big deal nothing big broke just a little and a know the no atomizer pops out and I cleaned it like 3 times no solution

I did the fix like you said but still nothing but whats funny is that the same tank thats giving me problems works on my voopoo mod just fine not sure whats going on or if you've ran across something like this before. But id so please let me know. P.s in case you're wondering why not just stick with the mod that reads it. Cause its more of a back up mod for when i forget to charge my batteries i can use that one while i wait on the other to charge. Tt awesome video by the way. Well then its your mod. Try cleaning out the 510 thread and connection with a q tip and make shure your pin isnt stuck down if it is it wont make connection with your tank.

This is a known issue with the vaporesso tanks. How about a real solution other than "clean it"
Mz Cat clean it, change your coil, or change your tank. There's more mentioned than just clean it
Actually i fixed it because i just happened to notice the clear gasket between the coil and the base was slightly unseeded. If anyone has the Vaporesso tarot nano, doublecheck that 😊
