  • In this video we will show you how to extend your electric outlet receptacles to be level / flush when you have a tile backsplash or whenever you have a need to extend the receptacle. In this case the tiling has pushed the wall out, resulting in a "sunken" outlet. We will install simple rubber spacers or extenders behind the receptacle.
WARNING: Please ensure your power to your breaker is off before any electrical work.
Hopefully you all find the video helpful and interesting.

Nice tip. I like to make mine out of scrap 14 guage solid wire. Coil it around a Phillips screwdriver like a closed spring. Slide it off and cut it to length. You can get several out it depending on how long the wire is.

Thats a neat product! I remember the light blue plastic “C” clips in the 80’s …they worked decent also!

Yeah it’s rare, only requires if the wall surface area protrudes due to tiling or something like that. Hope alls well with you…

Thanks Suj, on reflection I should have tiled behind the receptacle and that would have done the trick. But with small tiles like tear this was a better option
