I like the safety specs on the head when starting to cut the wall
Was thinking the same
I just noticed mine when I sat down to lunch then realised I had done the chasing without them genius eh!
@@suemount6042 I like the guard on angle grinder ....🤪wow...
Great video. You make everything look so easy.. Thanks 🇮🇪🍀👍
Getting the wall flat behind the box is quite tricky and can be deceptive as a small lump will make it feel like the box doesn't fit. I ended up going too deep and needing something to pack the wall back out (I used cardboard from a box) but it didn't feel good. Practice makes perfect
Helpful, enjoyable video, Thank you!
Nice enjoyed watching.
thanks ! Very helpful and clear !
Another great video! Just what I needed. I’ve learnt so much from you. Thank you
Great video thanks 👍
Thank you so much!!!!
Congratulations on such craftsmanship with the angle grinder for the wall box cut, is one of the neatest I have seen. I myself use an Arbortech Brick Saw with wall box blade & chase the walls with a Makita wall chaser with dust attachments....makes for effortless work & less cleanup ....enjoyed your post. Greetings from Australia
Neat work 👌
Hi very good job
Thanks for sharing it...
Good job
Very good
Nice vidio
In Dubai 40cm from finishing and we used waterlevel for measurement
Nice sire
So if the wall is later on going to be covered in ceramic tiles...
best to cut through the tiles then into the wall instead??
KRWA put the safety glasses on!!!
dzięki kolego
Moze pokazal bys kiedys jak robisz pomiary na instalacji elektrycznej?Chcialbym sie nauczyc
Awesome
Didn't think to use a grinder 👍💪
Put the safety cover back on the grinder and put your glasses on.
Nice
Why dont you use the special SDS tool for backboxes over this method?
Great video but where is the level and the conduit for the cables ? 😮
That hammer has seen some action :-)
(Y)
Like my ex wife
Here in Portugal the electrical box and fitment seems very difficult to set up perfect in an old stone wall any ideas to simplify the fixing to a rigid Square / level result . Tgank you
In stone I'd probably surface mount and use some cable trunking or if you have plaster surface mount the socket and channel the cables into the plaster with entry from the rear of the surface box.
I didn't know Tim from coronation street was a spark 😄
What screws did you/he use?
I always use a hammer drill instead of a hammer and chisel, anyone find it easier doing it with a chisel and hammer?
💯👍👍
Боже мой, когда же вы англичане поймёте что круг сверлить легче чем квадрат.
I have brown-taped a radio plug to an extension lead socket to stop someone removing it.
Is this dangerous?
A year on, nobody has an answer for you. Strange. I am not an electrician, so I can’t advise you, I just like watching videos of installations.
When you do this do you need to run an earth cable from the box to the earth socket?
Good practise yes but itll be earthed through the plate pins
@@powell2762 Thanks
Not required by the regs, but good practice.
Keep a safety cover on the grinder, if that disc breaks, you'll have some nasty cuts
No cover for the cables round trunking is good, I don’t like metal capping dreadful stuff.
Question do you have to use bonding on the channel can't you just use filler?
Easyfilla or polyfilla is just for the finish off as you can put only few mm thick, otherwise it will crack . With bonding you can cover larger holes or chunks of missing plaster and you can fill up to few cm. So I always fill it with bonding first and then some filler or multifinish plaster on top it depends if I'm going to do the whole wall or just fill what's missing. Cheers
Tanx for answering my question,I enjoy watching your channel.
I thought that under current regulations that the cable had to be protected against drilling by being put into metal conduit or covered by a metal channel before being sealed into the wall.
These cables will be protected by 30mA RCD so it doesn't need metal conduit
What regulations is that?
I think he's trolling
No need for any conduit if fit with RCD. When you run longer bits you use conduit oyherwise your cables are around the place.
@Chand B the cable needs to be protected from the plaster which is applied when finished. you can use plastic capping to do this if your cables are protected by a 30mA RCD at the fuseboard. If not you must use suitably earthed metal capping as per regulations.
What did you do to that poor hammer?!
I’d unsure the glasses were worn and the safety cover was attached to the angle grinder.
Dude get a multitool with a masonry blade. No dust, neater cuts.
The safety goggles over the head while cutting makes a wonderful decoration,,, It protects your forehead very well. Cool man.
Can you show how to bring this video to the finished article? ...how to fill the hole after passing the cables?
L' Or I was hoping the same too
Did this today into brick and concrete.its horrible 😝
so old skool, why not just use a kango much better less dust too
Becuase they're expensive and disc cutters are cheap lol.
you really need a wall chaser mate!...imagine doing that job in a nice decorated house with furniture and people living in the property and using an angle grinder the dust alone will be ridiculous!!!!...sorry very cowboyish!!!!
you mo no
Wow hope your not on price work ??
Imi place ca nu vorbesti mult !!!Strictul necesar.
Your baldness is so shiny that it needed safety glasses.
Goggles dont do much on your forehead!!
backbox looks wonky
Some fucking about there
