Dave also got great guitarists like Marty Friedman, Chris Poland, and bassist Dave Ellefson. Marty and Chris is better than Kirk Hammet i think.

I've listened to this album so many times every note on it is imbedded into my D.N.A. at this point yet I'm still blown away by every song on it to this day. It's hilarious that at the time Dave Mustaine and David Ellefson were the two remaining original members and it was the first time since Megadeth formed (at least for a little while) that they were both completely clean and sober (like aside from drinking everything under the sun they were on Heroin, Meth, L.S.D., and crack cocaine on the previous albums). The media at the time said that without drugs to aid them and restarting the band with two new members, making it the 3rd line up change, they didn't "have it anymore" and were done just a bunch of 80s metal has beens. Yeah... I think we can all conclusively agree Megadeth proved all the haters WRONG! Hilariously wrong.
Also: Megadeth - "Dystopia" the title track off their last and grammy award winning album "Dystopia" from 2016
They were definitely not clean of drugs at all...dunno where you got that information from.
@@leeschofield488 It's in the Megadeth behind the music documentary. David Ellefson got clean during the So Far, So Good, So What tour and then when Megadeth did a cover of the Alice Cooper song "No More Mr. Nice Guy" Dave Mustaine approached Alice Cooper about being his sponsor which is how Alice became Dave's "Godfather". It only lasted for Mustaine for a year (Ellefson to my knowledge has stayed clean ever since) but that was when they were in the studio recording Rust In Peace. I used to have heavy metal magazines from back then saying Megadeth was done for and this album would flop. I think that just pissed Dave off which lead to this masterpiece.

Marty Friedman doesn't mess around, unless he wants to. But even then, he's still playing something that'll make you rethink guitar melodies. Marty plays most of the lead breaks in this song, while I think the band leader, Dave Mustaine, has one main solo.

'Deth is ALWAYS good for separating your face from your skull...you'd enjoy "Reckoning Day" and "The Conjuring," also "Addicted to Chaos," and the KISS cover "Strange Ways." (Lol, I could go on, and on...and on) You gotta tip your cap to Dave though...no matter what line-up 'Deth comes with, it's top shelf stuff. Great suggestion...this one doesn't get it's just due. But, if you like a nasty grind in the vein of Sabbath's "War Pigs," you'd love "Playing With Spiders/Skullcrusher," by Overkill...it's NASTY (as is most of their stuff).

Great reaction. You probably didn't intend it, but I like that you didn't listen to the "remaster", which isn't as good as this original in my opinion. The effects on the vocals are all messed up in the remaster.
